Stud.io really saved my megablocks in terms of setting a tone for this part of the quest What feature are you using in Stud.io? I plan to use it for my quests as well (when I eventually get around to running one!), and these renders are brilliant! 👍

All the fancy lighting comes from a set of "luminous" colours that basically will render that brick as a light source. Most of it is rendered with the photo-real rendering but Stud.io also has a POV-Ray render I've been using for any top-down map stuff.
December 13, 20213 yr A two person mission! That's new. Pretty interested to see how it goes! Would love to draw in more players, but I'm truly not sure how to do that hahaha. @CMP, @Khorne, you folks still hanging around? Know everyone gets busy from time to time, genuinely just curious! Also, unrelated, but since I'm already doing an OoC post here, @karmajay why isn't Kirwin wearing their armor?

It's funny you should mention Khorne, as their character would've been perfect for this mission. Oh well.

And I guess we got to compare how many are just hanging out in the "Hall". I personally thought you would of waited at least until one of the missions would of ended. See one looks about to be done soon.

I really think we've got to keep missions going to maintain activity, sitting in the Hall for 2-3 weeks I'm sure can get boring, so I'm glad to see a mission launching even if it's only with 2 players.
December 15, 20213 yr Hm, looking at the stabilization rules, it's SUPER hard for a hero to die in GATs it looks like. It's way more likely for a TPK, since that's the only way that a team isn't going to get someone who is downed up, given the amount of time they have and the many avenues to getting people up they have.

The early version was definitely a swing too far in the deadly direction. I'm ok with what we've currently got for a while, you've got a point though about TPK's vs. just single players dying, but I think the same could be said of a lot of RPG's. If one player character has died, it's likely everyone else is going to die unless the party flees.
December 15, 20213 yr I'd agree, it's definitely the way modern RPGs have been swinging! I'm afraid I'm being perceived as negative with pointing out the two player mission and the ease of brining people back up, but that's truly not the case! Just observing in both cases! I do have three rules amendments I'd like to discuss at some point, but just mulling them over and observing some more first! It's exciting, for someone like me who LOVES the storytelling first and foremost but also deeply enjoys game design, to be playing in a system that we can actively change. Overall, though, I think it's a really cool system, and I'm so impressed with what you all put together!
December 15, 20213 yr I tend to agree to an extent - I wasn't actually aware that any healing item could bring back a KOed agent, but with the penalty of death I do sort of like having a lot of avenues to avoid it. I've got some ideas brewing on that end myself.

I'm half-tempted to suggest boosting Yul'Yom to the front page, but I think our biggest problem is that Eurobricks simply doesn't get the traffic it did when 1.0 was in its heyday.

I'm considering it, but I think you're point about low traffic overall is valid. Heroica is one of those weird hybrid RPG and I'm not sure how to really promote it anywhere else as it requires not only an interest in RPG's but incorporating Lego as well. I don't know a lot about the standard play by post sites, but I'd imagine they take a lot less prep work as they don't require constructing actual scenery.

To tell the truth, I would've taken more players, but having just witnessed a mission get stalled for months in the recruiting stage, and having already heard back for months to let others go first, I'd like to get this thing rolling!
December 15, 20213 yr I will begin posting on the Mission later after work, @Duvors, I didn't realize the Mission would be posted at midnight my time.

Might I suggest Facebook (I know it's evil) their is a group or two, that uses LEGO and plays D&D (and probably a few others similar games).

December 17, 20213 yr Loving the Bers information! I don't know if you came up with the rule that you're not allowed to talk about the way adamites are created or if that's library stuff, but either way really enjoy the way he's talking about it. I can't wait for Bers and Kirwin to reunite in a few missions once they're both even more established! Maybe someone will run an adamite specific mission! Also, Classic_Spaceman, really appreciate this hahaha. On 12/16/2021 at 11:26 PM, Classic_Spaceman said: Yelana laughed. "I think like half the Arm knows about Cosmopoli! . . . Chuckling again, Yelana sipped her tea.

December 18, 20213 yr I should probably explain at this point that Arno is one of two characters I built before I realized I'd have to do most of my building digitally and can't be replicated in stud.io. They're both in the mission, but the other one is easy to miss.
