I should probably explain at this point that Arno is one of two characters I built before I realized I'd have to do most of my building digitally and can't be replicated in stud.io. They're both in the mission, but the other one is easy to miss.

I was gonna say, I was thrown for such a loop with that latest picture - I started questioning if any of them were ever renders.

That's Mission 6 in the bag! Thanks so much to all those who played/followed along. :classic:

To be honest, if WBD's idea of having a repository of location and character images comes to fruition, this sort of thing is likely to happen more and more as time goes on.

Also, there's one detail I forgot to add yesterday, so it'll be in the upcoming post.

Should be launching soon.

Alright, time to find if a Skill-focused build is a viable defense strat.

Statistically it's a +2 defense against all non-spells. That's not too bad!

Had a slow day at work today for the first time in an incredibly long time, and did have some time to poke around and check out some other quests and lore. I think it's pretty interesting to see where we are in the game about 7 months in. People are still starting to set up all these factions and planets. We haven't super touched on religion yet, though I see a bit of it from Kinto in both Zaria and Quest 8 NPCs. Politics haven't really entered the story yet either. But we do have these early defining moments: Blackguard, Oc/Tan, Hart, and M-Tec have all been shown once, meaning they are now partially known entities. Same for Cosmopoli, Corvanis, and Recivic, along with the Ebria station itself. I don't really have a point, other than that these early quests are really interesting in how they'll define some later stuff, and there still feels like so much that can still be established! Excited too to start to revisit stuff, and see how people start to remix it. Both this early stage and that early middle stage have so much invention and exploration!

And because of how cool it looks, and how much I do want to be a part of the "setting the stage" portion, I'm getting an itch to host. Who knows if I truly can. But vaguely brainstorming. What is the program people use for digital sets?

I use stud.io because it has an inbuilt renderer that allows you to take nice looking pictures, as well as some special color categories that emit light in the renders, allowing for in-scene lighting. There are some parts form ldd that it doesn't have, and is in some ways more limited, but if you have both programs you can import builds from one to the other to take advantage of the strengths and part selections of both.

Happy holidays to those who celebrate! I’m gonna hold off on posting in Mission 7 for a day to give others a chance to respond - afraid I’ve been making too many decisions for the group!

Mission 8: Apologies for the delay. I've been doing some house cleaning and attending to a few other things. With the holidays behind me, I will have an update for you tomorrow. Thank you for your patience. :classic:

Totally understandable and no problem, looking forward to it :pir-thumb:

Harvest Week was original supposed to coincide with Thanksgiving, but I kind of like the idea that within this elven and dwarf week of observance Yol'Yum is also celebrated, and, as cultures are want to do, it got co-opted into Harvest Week observances.

At the start of Mission 7, I thought maybe Zepher and I would have different PC dynamics, but it seems as if I better just get straight to putting on white face paint and a red-haired wig.

I know i've been a bit AWOL the past few days/weeks (holidays, travel, various work things), but I think Bleeding Hart just allowed some fun internal thought for Varen to happen which I've been waiting for, not necessarily in that quest but just exploring some of his backstory. Not really a lot of exploring but more seed planting.

It's been a pretty busy week w/ holidays and all, but I'm glad you guys are still really engaging with everyone going on! One of the pros of a more hands-off, player-orientated quest is the ability to drop a dilemma on players and walk away as they figure it out.

Well it was a hotel.

There's probably one for every room, you'll be fine.

I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't expecting Yul'Yom to be personalized. :oh: Thanks for all the effort put into this, WBD, what a cool first event!

Also, regarding the Resource Hub, is your goal to have mostly non-descript characters for future MMs to plug and play? Or do you also want "main NPCs" in there in case an MM might want to pick up a major character and use them?
