The drive flashed the message "Upload Complete", then folded itself back into a pyramid. Wolfpackfan99 Posted February 21, 2022 Posted February 21, 2022 Billeck walked into the library. After admiring the massive collection of knowledge, he approached Collette. “Hello there. The name’s Billeck Wallard. I’m doing a little detective work for an upcoming mission. My partner Enson should be here somewhere, perhaps I should have been more discreet with my exit. Anyways I need information about these local mobs. The Garibzo Family, The Quint Syndicate, The Sapphire Stars, and The Seven Hands.” Quote
Duvors Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 Enson sidled into the Library, coffee and newspaper still in hand. "Morning Collette," he said "hello Wallard." Having made his introductions, he made his way over to the æther terminal. Enson didn't have much expertise in matters of computer tech, his knowledge stopped at using a keyboard and cursorpad. At least this wasn't a touchscreen, which in his experience were always either too sensitive, or not sensitive enough, depending on which was more inconvenient at the time. Typing in the address for the public access police records, he set about trying to find as much information on local mobs as he could. Quote

Typing in the address for the public access police records, he set about trying to find as much information on local mobs as he could. Between Enson's investigation and Collette's research, Willard and Enson come up with a few key facts regarding the local mobs Thorvald had mentioned. The Garibzo Family A close-knit clan of O'Kor'uk based out of The Rat's Nest with ties to several of the larger smuggling rings and illegal arms dealers across the Arm. Headed by Lamorak Garibzo, the patriarch of the family, he also manages the Kristal Ice Mining Cryostorage facility. The Quint Syndicate A cabal of Valtar, Amoura, and Quarm renegade scientists, known mainly to operate centers of illicit substance manufacturing and distribution. Thought to be responsible for the creation of Crescendo, an addictive street drug that places its renders its users euphoric to the point of absolute unhibitedness before plunging them to absolute despair and destitution. The Sapphire Stars An association of paid courtesans, spies, and assassins, rumored to be headquartered in Starbright Street. Their calling card, a sapphire gemstone, is often found at the scenes of their high profile crimes. The Seven Hands A shadow organization having splintered off of the Thaumuturgic society, its members are often involved in Æthercrimes. They are frequently suspected to be behind much of the local occult activity 19 hours ago, Duvors said: "Unfortunately no. The system has been a bit buggy ever since, I should probably talk with Ms. Sprocketson." Quote
Duvors Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 "Hmm, judging by what we have here our likeliest candidate is Garibzo, with the Syndicate trailing at a distant second. I do not think this matches the style of the other two, but I could be wrong." 2 hours ago, Waterbrick Down said: "We did have a little bit of an incident a while back, someone seemed to be rifling through files attempting a data download. This is a public access terminal, there shouldn't be any sensitive information on here. Unless they wanted to download library entries, but there should be proper dataports for that, correct? Or am I mistaken?" Quote

"While the library has access to Ætherspace and a good deal of the collection is digitized upon it, we still employ security measures to ensure that it is only accessible and not downloadable, given privacy concerns. Some of the collection however is also stored on Holo-tomes and there's even a smaller percentage still based in physical manuscripts." You might need some clearance codes to access their data banks, which I can help you with.” Quote

Criminal records are publicly accessible, but the ITA or EPD could have information on him that wouldn't show up on public record. Why don't you take the lead on this one though? This really seems more your area of expertise." Enson will assist Wallard with Insight. Quote

The screen began loading up, the ITA’S insignia proudly displayed. The following message read: WARNING RESTRICTED DATA! The following files contain sensitive and confidential information. Due to the sensitive nature of this data, we ask for a registered clearance code to access our data banks. Billeck then proceeded to type in the code, carefully pressing the keys.
