"Uhhh... no? Heroica is paid separately by the contractors when they accept a mission. Did someone tell you you have dues to pay? 'Cause you're probably getting scammed."

"Well then..." Varen pulled out his mobile device and began to furiously type. "Seems like my aunt needs to explain some things."

"Varen. What's your home planet like?"

"Oh, where do I even start?" Zaria thought for a moment before responding. "Well, Kharza' Fal is a planet of extremes. The days are warm, and the night's cold. Although some believe that my home planet is a desert, that is far from the truth. There are blistering deserts from where I am from, but also vast swaths of grassy hills, great and vast snow capped mountain ranges, and lush forests, through all of which great streams spill into the oceans." Zaria motions with her hand, moving it out from her to simulate a rush of water. "I grew up in a small town, one of many that dot the planet, but I have been to all the major spaceports, and as cliche as it sounds, the capitol of the planet, Rovodan Spaceport, is the most beautiful. Gardens and fountains are abundant in the city. The city's architecture was built with these green spaces in mind, and when the flowers are bloom, it is hard to image one being in a busy spaceport." Zaria takes a drink from her coffee, savouring the flavour as much as she was reminiscing in the years she spent seeing her home planet. "It is a wonderful mixture of peace and relaxation when I needed it to be, and adventurous and a bit harrowing when I wanted to test myself."

Valesia gives a sigh of relief. "Thank the stars above, I spent nearly the last of my credits getting here and I do not have baking money to waste on membership fees."

Stepping along the classy looking floor tiles, Aysu whistled in appreciation. "Could get a real good price on this when the whole place junks." She was pretty sure these were the quietest floors she walked on off-planet. Passing by the bar she spotted a fancy type, looked in charge. "Uh, not gotta check any weapons in here right? Dock guys said it depended on the joint?"

Thorvald blinks a moment at the question,

"I wish. It'd certainly make my job easier. Feel free to keep 'em, you may need them with this crowd. Name's Thorvald, let me know if you need somethin' to drink or anything else."

"Great cool." Aysu grinned, it was a shabby weapon but it was hers. Her gun, some goggles and the few credits she had left after getting here were all she had to her name. Holding onto her things was important if she wanted to get by as a hero for hire.

Looking around the space she blinked, there were a lot of different halk here, just like all the trade stations growing up. The familiar was good. "I'm fine for a drink. Might want something later. Gotta get used to the taste of the air before I get anything in me."

She went seeking a seat, ready to get more of a feel for the place.

"Sounds like a good place to be," Varen replied, nodding his head up and down. "There are some real crappy places in this galaxy. I've stepped in a few. But the outwardly bad ones always have a hidden gem or two that make the trip all the better. So check it, once I went to this one planet. I don't remember the name. But it was volcanic, so hot as you can imagine. I thought my suit was going to melt into me. Anyway, I'm on this planet. There's nothing around living. I can't see a blade of grass, a weasel-bird, nothing. And I have to hike this place with a client to make sure a meeting with his ex went smoothly. Finally we meet the ex, everything goes fine, we turn around and leave. We take a different path down, and you know what we find? Water. Water. Like a hot spring. So you know what we did? We took our suits off and just jumped in the spring and relaxed for an hour or something. Man, place was awesome. Best part of that trip was seeing actual water."

"Well, it is as they say. It is not about the destination, but the journey there." Zaria replies. "Sometimes the road gives us hardship. Sometimes it gives us a lot of hardship, but the road is not adversarial. The road just is. You have to take the good with the bad." Zaria takes a drink of her coffee, finishing it, frowning. "How disappointing. The coffee was pleasant."

You want another coffee? Or am I boring company talking about previous business? I can draft up a contract we talk no business or just coffee."

"Oh, no no, I find talking about your travels quite interesting!" Zaria replies. "I am genuinely disappointed that I am out of seemingly decent coffee in my cup. I was expecting it to be worse than it is. Coffee culture in Kharza' Fal is very particular, I was expecting not to like it.

If I am honest, part of me is a little jealous. As grateful as I am for my travels across my home planet, that is all I have seen. I have not been to a volcano planet or travelled the stars. Part of the reason Heroica sounded so fascinating was the prospect of seeing as much of this galaxy as I can." Zaria smiled. The thought of seeing new planets and places made her excited, almost a little tingly.

"I mean you see one planet you see em all, right? Nah, not really. So I don't normally drink coffee. This was my normal routine, back at my old job."

With her name down for a job, Aysu was feeling a little more settled, she had gotten used to the atmospherics of the station and could feel the travel stale-ness in her mouth. Recalling that the offer of refreshments had been made, she went back to the bar. "Uh barkeep, got anything rose flavoured? It doesn't have to be true rose, but pink and fizzy is a must." She grinned. "Even something close to my hair colour."

Zaria stared at Varen, unsure of what to make of the description of his former routine. "I have so many questions and I do not know where to start. Does every lawyer follow such a routine?"

"Well not every one of us. Although usually the ones who don't are employed by the governments and get little pay, unless they're higherups or can manipulate like fiends, because they can't afford. Although any crime syndicate lawyers that successfully defend their clients interest probably do, as they're in-house or on call. And they're worth the money."

"Rose might be a bit of a stretch on this station, but pink and fizzy I can do." Thorvald deftly grabs a few bottles, mixing, stirring, shaking, and eventually presents a frothy bright pink highball glass that fizzles with carbonation. "I call this one a fizzling gummy bear."

"Sure thing. If you want a refill on that coffee, I'm just going to set the pot here." The Chimeran sets a perpetually hot and full pot within reach of Zaria.

"Cheers!" Aysu inclined the glass before taking a sip. The flavour certainly suited the colour and the fizz tickled nicely. "Great stuff. My thanks."

"That looks like a potent cocktail you're drinking there, miss", Felix said smiling, pointing at her pink drink.

Yelana yawned - What little of her tea she had been able to drink had not done much to wake her up.

Later, in Yelana's Apartment:

"<That's what I was thinking.>"
"<I'll have my team look over it - And you should get some rest!>"
"<I'm getting ready to.>"
"<Good - I'll talk to you later.>"
"<Bye.>"
The hologram of Yannika faded away as Yelana stood up from the sofa. Brushing a few empty water bottles onto the floor, she flopped back onto the cushions.
"Ow!"
Yelana took the chopsticks out of her hair before lying down again, deactivating her visor as she did so.

Four Hours Later:
Yelana walked back into the Hall, feeling somewhat more refreshed after her nap. Surprised at the number of new arrivals, she decided to check the Library before introducing herself to anyone else.

I got a lot to learn.

I think I will need to check it out at some point too.

"I do not know if I could honestly relate to a single word you said." Zaria replied, laughing to herself. "Government agents, crime syndicates; definitely not the life I had prior to coming here. Where I come from, lawyers are a foreign concept. Magistrates appointed to villages deal with crimes, along with local militias. There are problems with the system: bribes, scandals, corruption, but it has been like that for centuries."
