I‘m not mad at Stonewars (even though speculating Coconut was Indy based on some far-fetched videogame connection was very silly :poke:), I’m mad at myself for getting my hopes up. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is :sadnew: I knew they‘d never bring back a theme this much in advance of the release of a new film!

Let‘s hope they have multiple waves planned for next year like they did in 2008, so we could have a first wave in January already  I know that kind of release pattern has not been a thing in ages, but this would be a good opportunity to bring it back

Edit: Time to change the title of the thread I suppose

Indeed. It‘s another reason I assume it to be an in-house theme

I don't think it will be an in house theme just because if it were we would get more than 4 sets. LEGO goes all out when launching a new in house theme.

Where has anyone confirmed that the sets are not coming out this year?

There are no set numbers unaccounted for (except for those four that belong to a new theme), so we have no reason to believe the sets are still coming this year. The initial rumour must‘ve been outdated info because the film got delayed rather recently :shrug_oh_well: Or it was always bogus. Wouldn‘t surprise me anymore, looking at the current state of leaks :oh3:

True, but a potentially exclusive 4 set licensed theme also strikes me as weird

Edit: Brick Clicker said it‘s an unlicensed theme over in the Avatar thread

No, it will be an unlicensed theme according to rick Clicker.

EDIT: Oh, I see BrickBob’s response to yours.

Well, it's a bummer if they really aren't coming out this year.

But then again, this is already the best year LEGO has ever had imo, and I'm already spending more money than I did in the last years combined, so I'm not complaining

2012, 2014, 2018, and 2019 are still hard to beat  You'd better give us Gringotts, TLG, or 2022 can kiss its gold medal goodbye  If Gringotts isn't coming, the existence of a new Stranger Things set will be the deciding factor between silver and bronze

It really is a shame. And that cool retrospective article stonewars published recently only serves to pour salt into our wounds :cry2:

Tbh a Horizon set is enough to me for this to be my favourite year for LEGO

But also: 18+ dioramas (Jurassic Park one is outstanding, can't wait to see the Star Wars ones), Dominion sets, The Batman sets, Love and Thunder sets, Lightyear sets, Fast & Furious and James Bond in Speed Champions, GoTG: Holiday Special advent calendar, an actual Transformers set, plus possibly more sets for upcoming DC and Star Wars projects. Perhaps even a Deathly Hallows set

Add the BD droid, the awesome TBOBF sets, the rumoured Kaminoan minifig, the Iron Man 2 set, our first proper licensed Modular building, the Muppets CMF, and the Delorean to that list

Still, 2012 and 2018 still surpass it for me personally, at least for the time being

I don't really care about any of those tbh.

There are three categories of LEGO sets for me: ones I consider buying or buy, ones I like seeing but don't care enough to buy, and ones I don't care about at all.

All of those are either in the second or third category.

Oh!! Now I know who they are, duh me. Karen! :)

When the film was delayed I was certain that there won't be any sets this year but ever since the potential rumors I got my hopes up only for them to be crashed.

It is time to stop thinking about lego indy untill rumours drop next year.

Same. I made my peace with it when the delay was announced, and now I wish it had stayed that way  We got our hopes up for nothing

There are no set numbers left

Eh, do we know everything for this year already? I doubt we get anything but I wouldn't rule it out, wasnt that Hoth Rebel guy a reliable leaker after all? Kind of a bold move to say we get sets this year when we knew the film got delayed to 2023 long ago.

My guess is that they were initially scheduled for this year and some leakers caught wind of it, before the film was then delayed. Similar to what happened to some of the Marvel sets, just with less info available :shrug_oh_well:

Well, Avatar theme has been officially revealed, now we shall wait for Indy. :pir-devil:

P.S.

Now that @TurinTheGreat is banned (know the reason for it, I do not) I would like to say that I had suspicion this person was @Mr No. There are plenty of things that hint to it (interests, account creation, etc.). It matters not at the moment, but I just wanted to say it.

How can it be that the planes have the same amount of parts as the last set?

I am no Indy fan at all but I'd very much like to see Lego tackle WW2 planes without all the weird colours and airshow-tuning! But for this price point/parts count I don't think they could do a single good plane..
