Lol BrickHeadz.. forgot about this crap. Barad-dûr is as much confirmed as the delay/ cancellation of the rest of Indiana Jones is confirmed.. not at all.

Well we know more about Barad-dûr than any dial of destiny sets. We've seen a preliminary picture, and we have a description of some of the features and we know some of the potential minifigs.

Granted, but even just the Rivendell set alone is a much better revival :tongue:

Out of the themes I care about, this is how I would currently rank their revivals:

  1. HP (2018). No question, this is the ultimate comeback, not just in numbers, but quality too. Still going strong 5 years later
  2. LOTR (2023). Rivendell is my favourite set so far this year, and I highly doubt that‘s gonna change. Sure, it may be a one-set-revival currently (if you ignore the BrickHeadz), but the set is incredibly strong!
  3. Superheroes (2012). Looking back, we‘ve had much better sets since then, but the fact they got the license for both DC and Marvel simultaneously was and still is amazing.
  4. Indy (2023). Could‘ve been number 3 or number 2 even, but then the recent news hit :tongue:
  5. Jurassic World (2018): Came back with stronger designs and a much less annoying in-your-face colour scheme than in 2015 :laugh_hard:
  6. Harry Potter (2010): Cool sets back in the day, but pretty weak compared to the standards nowadays
  7. Toy Story (2019): 4+. Any questions?! 

So yeah, Indy doesn‘t have a terrible comeback, but it‘s not a particularly great one either, in my opinion.

So from what I had read the Indi Temple of Doom set had been cancelled and that's all right?  Someone had mentioned that it was due to religion been involved, but I'm not sure how true that is.  I do hope that isn't the case because it defiantly gets rid of all hope of a TLC set releasing from the Grail scene.

Again, right now it’s just speculation. Nothing has been made official. Signs point to it either being delayed or canceled, but nothing concrete enough to really determine one way or the other.

I've missed a lot because I have been away and only recently (last couple of days) logged back into eurobricks and it's been so lively on all the other themes so struggling to see what I've missed.  Can you just give me a quick run down please for Indi?

Three OT sets have shown up on a retailer listing and we've seen images, suggesting they're happening.

The ToD set was rumoured a few days ago to have been delayed, which then exploded into people speculating that it had been cancelled (and a whole load of stuff about why, all of which was wild speculation). Then some credible leakers started saying that it had been cancelled and cancelled months ago, but it turns out that's because the listings haven't appeared, so it's still speculation. And it could be that the set has been delayed rather than cancelled, but no one knows (or at least has confirmed that they know).

No one has had confirmation of the DoD sets yet, for the same reason that they've not shown up in retailer listings. Which has led to yet more speculative jumps that the entire DoD wave has also be cancelled.

It's all speculation. Waiting it out is probably best here.

But there has been a leak of a new figure on Instagram and Reddit, of Indy with the new hat/hair and spiderwebs on his face.

Oh, and blurry images of all 'four' OT sets a few weeks ago.

Nice one mate, thank you.  I would find it strange for Lego to release three sets now but then cancel the DOD sets to be honest.

@Legoman123: Rumors have been circulating over the past few days, that Temple of Doom set 77014 has been either delayed or canceled before it was officially announced by LEGO.
 

However, the report could be, or should already be three months old.
The info seems to come from just2good.

Also, the new Indiana Jones minifigure was leaked.

Now there is wild speculation as to whether the Temple of Doom set will actually be canceled or delayed, and whether this could have an impact on the general Indiana Jones wave / series and if so, what the reasons for this could be.

That would be roughly the management summary

 

In fact, nothing has been officially confirmed or denied. Even the teaser in the SmythsToys LEGO catalog für the Indiana Jones Series is not an official statement by LEGO.

All we have is a post from Promobricks that the Temple of Doom set may be canceled or delayed. Even this message is said to be three months old. However, this can also mean that this message has long since expired.

And even if it should be postponed, it is not known why. In addition to speculation about religious or cultural backgrounds, there could also be packaging errors, design errors, adjustments to the packaging, corrections or changes to the box design, the building instructions and much more.

It is also a guess that the LEGO series will be officially announced on March 1st, 2023, since it is a month before the alleged release, but that has not really been confirmed either.

The only ones that look believable are the leaks of the 3 box pics, as well as the minifigure leak from 77015, and again this pic may have been an early draft, as well as the leak of the entire 77015 set, which also looks like a rough draft.

So essentially nothing is really known. I don't want to sugarcoat anything and most of the time the leaks have a kernel of truth, but nothing is known for sure.

Not having any info besides set numbers three months ahead of the most sensible release date is certainly „weird“. So they‘re either cancelled, delayed far enough as to not appear in any system, or s@h exclusive. 

None of them are good options since sales will suffer in any case, jeopardising our chances for more sets next year.

Anyway, bring on the next minifig leak to distract me :tongue:

I hope all sets end up being made, but the only one I was planning on getting right away was the plane, so it doesn't bother me too much.

He never said it was definitely delayed or cancelled either way. In fact, BrickClicker has said very little in this thread, and most of what he’s “said” has been via other people which could easily be misrepresented.

I’m also not sure the person you’re replying to meant anything for definite either way when they said “delayed”.

Sounds like you’re hearing what you want to hear. BrickClicker’s credibility is intact.

New brickclicker video just released states the Temple of doom set is not releasing in April. Does not not confirm if canceled or just delayed, but confirms it's not happening in April.

So intriguing.  The only (likely useless) thought I have is that the ToD set is most like a roller coaster (which is why I wanted multiples!), and the Indy ride at Disneyland just underwent a refurbishment (opening end of March as of right now).  So maybe Disney wanted the release of this coaster set to match its new Indy ride with possibly new features?
