I totally agree with what I said, I think this set has a chance to be one of the best LEGO sets in years all over (apart from the quote stickers)

I'm no expert on this either, but usually sets always seem to be announced about a month before release, or sooner, especially if there have been teasers for new or rebooted series before that

The $80 info was from Target, right? Maybe they simply mixed up the prices for 77013 and 77014

Looks like it  At least this means the worst-case scenario can be ruled out (that being them secretly dumping the sets on s@h). The second-worst scenario is still possible, mind. That would be them revealing the three sets, but providing no hints towards DoD sets (like „more to come later“).

The second-best option would be a hint towards DoD, and the best would be an explanation as to what happened to the ToD set

It's definitely happened here in Australia before that a store mixes up the prices for two new releases. Our Australian Kmart did that when they first added the Beauxbatons Carriage and Graveyard Duel sets from Harry Potter - $29 for the Carriage and $79 or whatever it was for the Duel.

I think they operate independently, often they sell sets that are otherwise exclusive ABOVE Lego's own retail prices.

Intertoys looks to be the only retailer shop that gets exclusives around launch, like they have been the only shop selling Creator 3-in-1 Castle at or under retail price, while Brickshop sells it for +20%.

Well, doesn't exactly have to be today.

The Disney 100 Years of Wonder sets have been revealed by LEGO nearly a week after they added them to the Instructions page.

Well, since 77014 is officially dead now, there’s no real point to the reveal any more anyway. We already have good pictures of the three sets. And a hint towards DoD is not exactly likely

At least things are slowly starting to move and things seem to be progressing, which should at least rule out the worst-case scenario, a STORNO of the entire series.

The hope for ToD 77014 has actually died for now.

If there is no indication of DoD, that does not necessarily mean that nothing is coming. In order not to spoil the film, hints could only come in May or June. Unfortunately, we have to wait and see.

@DrHenryJonesJr: If there is no hint towards DoD in the reveal, I won‘t believe in the existence of these sets anymore. They‘re already on shaky ground as is.

My shelf space is too valuable to keep unoccupied for sets that will never see the light of day

Still trying to figure out what to use the other shelves for. Avatar won‘t be getting any additional sets until early 2025 I assume and I like to keep all sets of the same theme in close proximity

Maybe I’ll move the PotC sets or something

Wow. I don't know how you do it! I imagined you'd have to crawl over bricks to even get out of bed. Do you have a dedicated Lego room or just cabinets all over? I have to figure out what not to use my shelves for. 

 

As for the instruction leaks, it did take a few days between the Disney sets popping up on the Instructions page and the reveal, but considering we have set reviews for Indy already any reveal seems superfluous for our purpose anyway. I think the Temple has met its namesake. Short Round's had enough excitement for this week it seems.

Yes, I have a dedicated room. For the licensed themes, that is. The rest is in the living room, the hallways, a storage room, and the bedroom

I just wish this theme continued into 2024 so we could get another chance at a set with Short Round and Willie (like a remake of the Shanghai Chase set), but that isn’t likely at all. They’re barely releasing anything in a year WITH a new Indy movie coming, so fat chance we get anything in a year without one

It's interesting that it's mentioned on the 18+ set, but not the others.

It makes me wonder if they might release it after all, but perhaps under the 18+ range.

Well, I played a lot with LEGO in my childhood, unfortunately 2008 and 2009 were in my Dark Ages, my girlfriend at the time even gave me the 7627 for Christmas because she knew that Indiana Jones was one of the most important topics of my childhood.

At that point, I just wasn't particularly interested in LEGO or Indiana Jones.

I came back to LEGO in spring 2020 due to the first lockdown, later through my two children too, who reached the right age for LEGO in August 2020.

Then I went to SmythsToys and wanted to buy a few brick boxes, it didn't take long for me to realize that the type of LEGO products seemed to have changed. For example, I didn't even know LEGO Friends.

After I had equipped my girls with LEGO, I desperately started looking for a topic for myself.

I just found out, there wasn't one. No adventures, no pharaoh, no pyramids, nothing at all, even LEGO City Jungle had already expired, so I could only buy the leftovers for the LEGO City Jungle Series, in my opinion it was a fantastic series, a really successful alternative to Indiana Jones without a license, I bought 60161 several times.

Then I remembered Indiana Jones again, only I had to realize that the sets were of course insanely expensive, so I had to buy them together for a lot of money, all 16 sets, and the brickmaster polybag.

The outrageous amount of money for the GamesCon set was too much for me, til today.

In addition, it was only the polybag again with an additional small set and very difficult or impossible to find, and if so, then not new, in original packaging and unopened.

So from 2020 to 2022 I collected the whole 2008 / 2009 series, everything new in the original packaging, 11 times, always hoping to finally get something new, always keeping my eyes on Indy 5, the only hope that LEGO will bring the series back .

Everyone can imagine what that cost.

Now the time has finally come, so I'm already eagerly waiting for it. I don't want to make the same mistake again and equip myself properly with Indy sets.

 

If I were to buy them just once, I'd get by with the top of a shelf too, only I'll take whatever I can get and as often as I can financially afford

And of course, no peep of DoD anywhere. Whoever is responsible for the handling of this trainwreck should be deeply ashamed of themselves. Congrats, you managed to completely kill my anticipation of the new movie! Not sure if I even want to see it anymore at this point.

Time to focus my attention on themes that actually deserve it
