So some sets are already on store shelves. Now that it is officially released can we talk about that or is it still not proper?

What do you mean? People have been talking about these sets for a long time, including the sets turning up on shelves.

Sets found/bought legitimately in a store don't constitute leaks, if that's what you mean.

Fantastic! I picked up the fighter plane chase this evening! I couldn’t be more excited. Sr. Has been done impeccably well imo but I’m on the fence about jr. after assembling one bag, the car looks amazing. I like many of the elements of the build but wish it were a little bit more involved. I would compare it more to a GWP than a speed champion build. It’s just a little less complex. Overall I’m very pleased with the set so far. The small details like the journal, umbrella, revolver, whip and Sr. are making this set.

Sean Connery's corpse is reanimated a la Weekend at Bernie's for Henry Jones Senior's spin off.

Only if we get The Hunt For Red October 2 and in the process of filming, Alec Baldwin's Jack Ryan shoots and re-kills him.

While most people are concerned discussing the sets that haven't been or aren't going to be revealed or released, the lost tomb set has a legitimately fantastic price - even in Australia, it's only $60 RRP!! With a typical 20% sale (and more if you want longer), that a real steal. I'm looking forward to picking that one up.

Totally agree. Amazing value, especially nowadays. I'm definately picking this one up.

Not necessarily. The problem for LEGO is that the more information they provide, the more they can be beaten with it later. On anything. Was it the controversial story/depiction (you'll get complaints from either/both sides of the political spectrum on that)? Was it logistics or build issues (you'll get complaints from AFOLs and fan media about declining quality, which may seep into the perception of LEGO as a brand)? Was it Lucasfilm controlling what they wanted out there (you'll get complaints about Disney having too much control)? It all just means the potential for bad press. But if they're vague (or ignore it completely), then they have a few people on the internet complaining in forums or Reddit, but it won't generate the reach that a detailed press release could.

Also, being vague gives them the ability to do what they like in the future. Being specific puts them in a corner that they don't need to be in, regardless of their current plans.

Exactly.

77014 has been removed from all the descriptions now. Which again doesn‘t mean much of anything, because advertising a delayed set is practically just as silly as advertising a cancelled one

77014 and 77016-77019 have effectively been turned into Schroedinger‘s LEGO sets. Do they exist or not?! :laugh_hard:

Anyway, looking forward to getting the other sets on April 1st! Gonna be my very first day 1 purchase in a LEGO store :thumbup:Unless the online shop I sometimes order from gets them first, but I think they‘re timed exclusives in Switzerland too. Nobody aside from Smyths and TLG themselves seem to sell them starting April 1st

Just a hunch, but I think it’s possible they’ll be released next year. Reviving Indiana Jones for just 3 OT sets (well, just Raiders and Crusade) still seems like an odd move.

Lego doesn’t have rights to produce Indiana Jones sets just because of their existing partnership with Lucasfilm for the ongoing Star Wars license right? If they spent goodness knows how much money on an Indy license again, I’m sure they’ll at least want to produce sets on this year’s film.

Can’t wait for the April sets to drop!

If we continue getting more waves, I wonder if LEGO would continue sticking to remakes of scenes we got sets of in 2008-2009, or if they'll throw in some stuff we haven't gotten before.  I'd like to see KOTCS get something if this revival of the theme lasts more than two waves.  An updated version of Temple of the Crystal Skull or the Jungle Cutter would be neat to see.

I'd kill for a updated DC-3 airliner, like in the limited edition 7628. (Peril in Peru)

Releasing the first sets based on a new movie 6+ months after its release is also an extremely odd move  Why would they ever do that? What reason could they possibly have?

I think someone said yesterday (and I agree) that it could be that, since the film's plot is mostly shrouded in secrecy (*cough* TIME TRAVEL *cough), Lucasfilm is having LEGO hold off releasing the DoD sets until July or August, after the film has already hit theaters so as to not reveal the story. It would explain why we haven't heard anything on them yet, if they're trying to keep them under wraps like whenever they do spoiler sets for Marvel flicks.

I thought we already knew what sets were coming in august, wasn't that the case?

Lego has been trying to get a tighter grip on leaks, it's not impossible for things to slip under the radar.

Yeah this is a good point, No Way Home comes to mind but I believe the largest Wakanda Forever set was also initially going to be released after the other tie-in sets.

Overall I hope this is just Lego being really good (for once!) at completely sealing any leaks for DoD merchandise. Lucasfilm are notoriously secretive as we all know, I’d argue their anti-spoiler policy borders on ridiculous. But all in all @BrickBob Studpants, I’m keeping a fool’s hope more than anything, all signs point towards DoD being an awesome film and I’d love to see some sets from it. 3 sets aren’t enough to scratch the itch for me!

I hope so too! Not releasing any sets based on DoD around its release would be the single most boneheaded thing they‘ve EVER done :laugh_hard:

I know everything is pointing towards these three sets being all there is to Indy this year, but I decided to refuse to believe they bungled it this badly until we have actual proof.

So yeah, I‘m pulling a Mac here and switch sides! Friendship with team CANCELLED is over!! Team DELAY is my best friend now

I mean, they sure are trying, but they're not particularly good at it.

Like don't get me wrong, I'd love to get DoD sets, but I think if we were going to get thek we'd at the very least heard something, no matter how vague.

I can see Lego sucesfully hidding one set, but a whole wave? No way

I fully agree, but I think the cause for concern is that there haven't been any updated retail listings in a while, from what we've heard, at least?  Like, it makes total sense to keep the sets themselves deep under wraps, but no listing is just really strange.

The exception is that if they're either a S@H/brand store or retailer exclusive, because it seems like those can pop out of nowhere.  Which, if you think about it, wouldn't make a ton of sense in terms of widespread sales, but would make a whole lot of sense in terms of preventing leaks, because there's no retail catalogs or anything that can possibly disclose information.

While it is certainly strange, the sets being cancelled is not the only possible explanation :shrug_oh_well:

Strictly speaking, LEGO did not specifically announce the first wave. The sets were listed, there was a nondescript statement on ToD, if that can be called a statement at all.
No news article, no Instagram post, no VIP pre-order, nothing.
So why announce DoD sets when LEGO hasn't even properly announced or hyped the April Wave.
