Wout Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Thank you for the pics. the droidship looks better than on first pics.
Skipper 24 Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 This is kind of a stupid question probably but could somebody tell me who / what is Rotta? (green blob from AT-TE and Twighlight )
Shoc Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 This is kind of a stupid question probably but could somebody tell me who / what is Rotta? (green blob from AT-TE and Twighlight ) He's the son of Jabba the Hutt! :skull:
JimBee Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 (edited) Thanks again for the pics! So now we know that the pilot can fit in the ship, and it can drop bombs/ missiles. Whats the gear on the bottom of the ship for? Is it part of the mechanism for the bombs? ...and can we please stop making so many pointless comments like "me likey"? some members on this board are doing that a lot, and im sorry, but its really getting annoying, so please stop. commandosevy Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Not sure I understand - please explain. Remember a couple pages back the pic of 3 BDs 2 with 2 gun holding hands and 1 with 2 normal hands. remember.... well heres a linkPage 19, Jespers post
Vaders_son Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Remember a couple pages back the pic of 3 BDs 2 with 2 gun holding hands and 1 with 2 normal hands. remember....well heres a linkPage 19, Jespers post If I had to take a guess I'd say they belong nowhere on the DGS. They are just added as some sort of ground troops I'd say, hence the weapons for the two of them and not for the third (possible pilot). Benny
TheBrickHitHouse Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Great to see the DGS fits a figure - perhaps its just me, but I just won't buy a set that doesn't hold atleat one fig (sorry UCS sets) Its gone from a definite no no, to a sure purchase So impressed so far with the Clone Wars line - I just love the box art and designs, it really feels like a 'series' - I intend to buy every last one of them (with the exception of Anakins crappy yellow fighter)
JimBee Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 hmm, yes, the DGS is now on my list, it looks like a great set, especially with the extra ground troopers. two thumbs up. this set has gone from the bottom to the top with just one pic. excellent work, lego!
Skipper 24 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 What have people got against UCS sets not holding figs! If you want you can just modify them a bit to put minifigs in.
trooperdavinfelth Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Nope - not yet anyway - remember it's an October-set. I'll post as soon as it's possible. There're two each which come after the first four. But the TX-130 is an August set. The DGS is an October set, and the Twilight is an August set whereas the HSD is an October set. So now I'm all confused... But on a more serious note, is it harder to get pics of things that come out sooner than late? Great to see the DGS fits a figure - perhaps its just me, but I just won't buy a set that doesn't hold atleat one fig (sorry UCS sets)Its gone from a definite no no, to a sure purchase So impressed so far with the Clone Wars line - I just love the box art and designs, it really feels like a 'series' - I intend to buy every last one of them (with the exception of Anakins crappy yellow fighter) Sheesh, no need to be negative; almost all UCS sets can hold a fig with even no modding at all! Vader's Tie, the Y-Wing, the Tie Interceptor, the X-Wing, the AT-ST, for pete's sake, the Millenium Falcon even, sheesh! What have people got against UCS sets not holding figs! If you want you can just modify them a bit to put minifigs in. You don't even have to modify them; they already have cockpits in them! Heck, even regular UCS sets like the Sopwith Camel have a cockpit!
Skipper 24 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) I know they all have cock pits with perfectly good seets but some times the minifigs are a little short. Edited June 29, 2008 by Skipper 24
Algernon Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 In my opinion the UCS series is one of the best series LEGO's ever come out with. They have the best construction, best pieces, and best detail- in my opinion everything about LEGO that matters. I don't really care about figs. The DGS isn't until October?? Oh well... I guess that means I have more time to save up. :D
Skipper 24 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) Does anyone know if the UCS Y-Wing and X-Wing are minifig scale because they both have minifig astro droids? Edited June 29, 2008 by Skipper 24
Oky Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Does anyone know if the UCS Y-Wing and X-Wing are minifig scale because they both have minifig astro droids? I have the X-Wing and TIE Interceptor, and they are not minifig scale. That's the whole point of the UCS line: They are big, detailed models. Therefore, the droids are proportionally too small actually. As far as I know, the only UCS model that is minifig scale is the Millenium Falcon! If you must know, the X-Wing has a scale that is something between TECHNIC figs and Jack Stone figs.
Skipper 24 Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Thats exactly what I thought Oky Wan! So i'm wondering why TLC didn't just make some random custom parts stuck together for the droid.
pedro Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Thanks again for the pics! So now we know that the pilot can fit in the ship, and it can drop bombs/ missiles. Whats the gear on the bottom of the ship for? Is it part of the mechanism for the bombs? Aye, it appears to be. From the pictures, it looks like the missiles woul be mounted on the end of the black bars below on either side of the gunship. The cog on top turns the technic steering wheel below, effectively shortening the length of the bars by retracting them inside the plates with holes and causing the missiles to 'deploy'. The blue rubber band looks lik it's there to keep tension on the mechanism an pull everything back in place. Very cool. I like the design of this gunship a lot but it wasn't high on my priority list. After after seeing these additional pics I think I'm sold!
Justin2224 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I said i might buy it if it has minifigs. well after the RGS, AT-TE, and HSD i might buy it with leftover money
Algernon Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 DGS is high on my priority list :( Don't worry DGS people love you!
Legoman Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 My catolouge arrived today Its great, i'm really looking forward to the DGS and homing spider droid, mabye the only sets i get from the CW line...
AoNZ Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Yes I got the catalog recently too. I'll probably get the HSD and Tank but personally the Tank is better. The only reason I want the HSD is for the figs so I'll probably sell off the HSD and keep the minifigs. The Tank looks like a cool vehicle compared to the HSD and it has clones. Two reasons why I'm getting it. But those kama's look like they will restrict the leg movement of the clones. Edited June 30, 2008 by AoNZ

Algernon Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I'm sure you can, since there seems to be a hinge on the front.
commanderbly42 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I'm sure that it's possible, I just hope it isn't in the same fashion as seen in the AAT.
Tom_castlefan Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I really love the death start set, but my love for the castle theme prevents me from spending my money on it... Perhaps i'll one day pick it up on ebay, when it is no longer in production and its price has been cranked up to around £1000? Tom
