2008 Picture thread

Lets face it fellow Lego SW fans, If TLC is making a surprise set that we have voted on they wont be foolish enough to leak any pics or info.

We only saw info leaked thru TLCs own web site for the Death star 10188 through the replacement parts page and then when svelte corps found images in the cache. All the while leading up to pics it turns out only one rumour i read turned out to be true, when someone posted that it would come with Vaders tie (which everyone said "as if" to)

So hang back and enjoy the surprise when it comes.

Meh, maybe they are a little fun... sometimes.

Oh alright, TLG can keep a secret when they want to. Though that doesn't mean I'm not losing hope that we may yet see the light before the tunnel comes to an end.

I hope we'll get the Home One set, but as stated earlier it's quite difficult to believe members with low post count.

No offense meant, but it's just a little too good too be true.

I do hope that we get General Ackbar.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Also remember that the set pics we've seen on BS are only the January through May 2009 wave.

There's at least 6 sets more to come next year

(and yes probably the Solar and Tri-Droid are among those)

I am split down the middle between the possibility of getting three new Jedi plus Palpy and getting Admiral Ackbar.

Whichever one they end up releasing is fine with me.

So I'd rather have new character minifigs or plenty of army units

In fact I'm rather dissapointed in the amount of Rebels we've gotten so far compared to the massive amount of Imperial Forces. We always get stormies and clones and a single jedi or good guy.

The Rebel Battle Pack changed that a little, but we do need another one with Hoth Rebels or Endor Rebels to be able to fight back in MOCs and Dioramas.

Yeah, army compatible figs are always prefered to stand-a-lones in my book too, although a senator Palpy would be pretty sweet.

I totally agree. Some diff. types of Rebel troops that we need are: vanguards, a red variant of the already released Rebel Trooper, Captain Antilles, Bothans, snowy-camo Rebels, jungle/forest-camo Rebels,

and some ordinary Rebel officers would be good too.

On jedi news it said that these are early images and that lego may chnage mace's face.

Maybe they will change yoda's face too

Yes do you think it will be a diorama with the smashing windows and opening door, hopefully it will come with a

wave of lightning, but I don't think that's possible

My 2p concerning the new 09 sets:

Clone battlepack: No problems with it, i actually like the walker, its like an AT-RT and i could see the Republic use it, like the rebel scout speeder

Assasins battlepack: I don't know the appeal of tons of assasin droids, so i don't think it'll sell that well. However its nice to see a lot of "chromed" peices in such a small set. Vehicle is pretty meh. i'd rather have speeder bikes that the IG series ride in the clone wars cartoon.

Republic attack shuttle No problems with it, i think its acttually really cool.

Hydra droid bomber in prelimanary stages - i don't like it once i've seen it stickered and in the series i''ll make a better judgement on it.

AAT its a bit too blocky for me its doesn't look as smooth as the original one was

I really wan't it to be Palpatines Arrest because it is a major scene in the movie (Anakin's initial fall ). Home One doesn't really have any important scenes. Sure we found out Lando was a General, or we could have just looked at his clothes. This set is probably the set from Whungs list that has no name next to it. As for the Hoth or Endor battle packs, as long as we get Snowtroopers or Scouts I'm happy. Hopefully if the Corparate Alliance Droid is true, it won't have big orange dishes. If a Home One playset is released, its plausable that endor BP's are released, because the two are "related." Home one could have the named characters in endor gear (luke, leia)and the BP can have generic endor troops.

I personally don't want a Home one playset, nothing really exciting happens in the ship, apart from a briefing, and "It's a trap!"

What do you mean? Yoda's head was never rubbery; it was roughly the same material as the Castle Knight's swords and the Orc's swords. The ears bent a little, but it wasn't rubbery. But I don't doubt the CW one will be rubbery.

On the topic of the Home 1: I dunno. If it's like the Star Destroyer that had Tarkin I probably won't end up getting it. I'd rather it be a simple 30-40 dollar set that has a bunch of pilots(new heads with chinstraps are a must; they have to be new pilots or else.), a few Mon Cals' including Ackbar(new and new!), Mon Mothma(new!), Lando(new!), Leia(new!), Luke(it'd be cool if they gave him and Han the Endor garb; it might not be movie accurate but we'd get more hats and some new torsos, maybe a trenchcoat for Han. ), Han, Chewie, R2, 3PO, and a bunch of Endor Troopers(should be new as well, with the hat as well). Not to mention a whole mini coliseum. That's what I'd look forward to in a Home 1 playset...

I really hope we get Palpatine's arrest, although I really could use an Ackbar fig. It would also be nice to get a new Han fig that didn't wear a fedora and carry a bullwhip.

If unfortunately we do get a home one i really hope it does not come with luke, lei, or han. I thinkjust having parts of a ship is going to be kind of pointless, and i wouldnt want to spend $100 on a meeting room and a hanger. It just doesn't have much to offer.

As opposed to the home one, Palpys arrest has alot more to offer for the $100 price point and it wouldnt be just peices of the scene. We would get 4 great jedi (2 completly new ones) a flesh Palpy with hopefuly doublee faces. Another non creepy anakin and a whole lot of an office, possibly a hall way and a maybe anakins speeder. Not to mention that that scene itself holds much more importance then a meeting room and a like as simple as "It's a trap!" Sure the home one is pretty cool but i don't think it could be translated to lego very well.

We all should try to believe that most people who are getting inside info regarding future sets are probably being told lies themselves. That way, TLG can prevent any real information from being released too soon.

I'm not fussed on most of the sets, but looking forward to building my clone army. I have enough droids to oppose them, but like most wanted the new clones more than the last release in the battlepacks

Me - I'd much prefer the Home One to a room. Plus, getting the jedi in different sets beats me having to shell out $150 just for them (I hardly care for Palpatine's Office).
