Tarfful Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Me - I'd much prefer the Home One to a room. Plus, getting the Jedi in different sets beats me having to shell out $150 just for them (I hardly care for Palpatine's Office). I think we all would rather get an entire capital ship then Palpy's office Bly. Remember though that TLG said they were only going to give us a hangar bay and the control bridge, plus a new A-Wing - not the entire ship. -Tarfful
Legoman Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 I think we all would rather get an entire capital ship then Palpy's office Bly. Remember though that TLG said they were only going to give us a hangar bay and the control bridge, plus a new A-Wing - not the entire ship. -Tarfful Are you sure TLG said that? wasn't that just what a few people desided from the pics? I really don't mind, as i'm currently begging for OT sets, but i think lego would do a better job on the office. All and All, i dont really care...
Tarfful Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Are you sure TLG said that? wasn't that just what a few people decided from the pics? Yeah I'm sure TLG said that. It was the only description available for the Home One poll option on the official TRU poll website (when it was still going). -Tarfful
commanderbly42 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I think we all would rather get an entire capital ship then Palpy's office Bly. Remember though that TLG said they were only going to give us a hangar bay and the control bridge, plus a new A-Wing - not the entire ship. -Tarfful True but we were allowed to pitch in our ideas to TLC during the [/quote]. So, it might not actually end up being the bridge and an A-Wing but who knows. They said that the race between them was close so it could be either one.
Light Light Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 A hangar bay and control bridge just does not seem to be worth $100. For that same price, we got a complete ISD. Now, Palpatines Arrest could possibly work to being $100, if not less. There wasn't much to the scene in the movie. just the two rooms in which Windu and the other Jedi fought against Palpatine. I guess you could also include the landing pad Anakin arrived at with that "speeder" thing. Right now, it is starting to look like a new version of the Cloud City playset.
Justin2224 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 The ISD wan't that great though, but it did have good figs. That wood be the only reason I buy the Home One or Palpatine's Arrest anyway, unless they are perfect. So far I think that Vader's Tie will be a better 10th annerversary set. They should have chosen Tantive IV or something more iconic. I mean Tantive IV was the second thing we saw, and the main thing in the begining of A New Hope. I don't care for either of the choices, good thing the rest of the 2009 line up will be good, as well as other themes.
Corvus Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Hmm, I'm having a hard time imagining a Home One set. Lego must be more creative than me ( and they are ) but both ideas of sets sound hard. A full Home One would be next to impossible- Look at the ship, it's bumpy and long. The Star Destroyer is easy- triangular and big enough to put an interior in. The Home One, though... We don't know enough about it to put an interior into it. And the hangar plus bridge- better idea, though still not easy. The bridge and the hangar are on completely different sides of the ship. This could end up like the Hoth Battle set- Big door, vehicle, puny command station. If they went all-out and a Cloud City type set, man, that'd be pricy, not to mention huge.
JimBee Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Damn! I missed all of the pics... Ah well, at least I know what sets they were... but none of them seem especially exciting (thank God, my wallet is crying!) except for the AAT. Here's to hoping!
Tarfful Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Damn! I missed all of the pics... (Click the smiley!) -Tarfful
CloneMe Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Man, I can't wait till 2009. Its gonna be a great year. And these are just preliminary pics which means they will probably get even better.
commander_kitten Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I hope that the AAT has an inside area
AoNZ Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 It probably will because it looks like you can remove the front . But I can't decide if I should get that AAT or the TX-130. Why couldn't the TX-130 come with a jedi like the AAT I would have liked one or a coloured clone.
SupaaSayajin Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 is itjust me or are the star wars legos getting better and better and thus more expensive and more hazardous to our money
The Rancor Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 is itjust me or are the star wars legos getting better and better and thus more expensive and more hazardous to our money I still think most of this year's Clone Wars sets are better than what could be next year's sets. The only exceptions would be the appropriately coloured and detailed TIE for the Anniversary, and the Clone battlepack. Also, TLG (The Lego Group) offers us much cheaper sets in January usually, so they should cost less overall!
Omega Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I personly am not a fan of getting an endor play set I think it should be a clone wars play set, but i dont know when or what battle. I think we need a new Genral Grievous and a new jedi [ Saak ti or Ki adi mundi] Second, i think there should be a space battle playset like last year e.g a torrent and some droid fighters.
lotus10 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Long-time lurker / first-time poster, I'm just happy to be able to comment on non-official and/or leaked pictures!
Light Light Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Second, i think there should be a space battle playset like last year e.g a torrent and some droid fighters. We already got a Space Battle Playset. It was called Ultimate Space Battle.
Justin2224 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I don't get how people could say no to an Endor Playset. We need Endor Rebels, and scout Trooper's would be good to have again as well.
Light Light Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I might be interested in an Endor Playset. But we can't really expect to get a ton of Rebels in the set; seeing as how Ewoks did ALL of the fighting for them. I have a feeling a vast majority of the figs will be Ewoks and Imperials.
Matteo Kenobi Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I don't get how people could say no to an Endor Playset. We need Endor Rebels, and scout Trooper's would be good to have again as well. I agree, I mean 4 years ago we dabbled in Endor and it would be great to really get further into it. It would be a huge seller and it would be great for everyone. More endor would be amazing with Ewoks, endor troopers, clone scouts, speeders, maybe an ewok tree village (that would be sweettt =]]) and whatever else we get thrown our way! Come on whos not on board with that!
Justin2224 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Crap, I totally forgot the Ewoks, oops. The OT in general has so muched untapped potential. So far we've mainly gotten remakes of ships. The OT has many scenes that could be made. A Minifig scale duel between Vader and Luke on the Death Star or Cloud City. We are getting Taun Tauns, so more Hoth is a possibilty. Ok well to sum up my nonsense, Star Wars has endless possible things to be made into sets. Here's hopin fo good years with new stuff for the years to come.
JimBee Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 (Click the smiley!) -Tarfful Thanks a ton, buddy! The battle packs actually look pretty neat! The hyena droid isn't especially cool, but the droids w/ jetpacks are (I wonder why they're called hyena and vulture droids?). The AAT is frankly very disappointing, but I'm thankful these are prelim. I wonder why they changed Yoda's torso? And his head looks the same... . Vader's TIE: Nothing I would buy, but I suppose OT fans would like it. The Republic Transport actually seems nice, and not too big either . Before any of you say anything, I am assuming these are real.
Tarfful Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 (edited) Man, I can't wait till 2009. Its gonna be a great year. And these are just preliminary pics which means they will probably get even better. More like hopefully... BTW is that CC-Deviss as your avatar? If it is - nice! VVVVVVVVVV Second, I think there should be a space battle playset like last year - e.g a torrent and some droid fighters. We already got a Space Battle Playset. It was called Ultimate Space Battle. Read the bold. VVVVVVVVVV Long-time lurker / first-time poster, I'm just happy to be able to comment on non-official and/or leaked pictures! Welcome lotus10! Don't forget to introduce yourself here. BTW are you from FBTB? Your name sounds familiar to me... plus your avatar is in the same style as the ones from over there. VVVVVVVVVV I don't get how people could say no to an Endor Playset. We need Endor Rebels, and Scout Trooper's would be good to have again as well. Not to mention Endor Han, Leia, Chewy, Wicket, and various other Ewoks! VVVVVVVVVV I have a feeling a vast majority of the figs will be Ewoks and Imperials. Yeah, but there's always the possibility of BP's. VVVVVVVVVV Come on who's not on board with that? Not me. VVVVVVVVVV Thanks a ton, buddy! Before any of you say anything, I am assuming these are real. Your welcome JB! And yes, they are real. -Tarfful, who all of a sudden is wanting more Endor related sets. EDIT: I didn't want to double post so I edited in three more quotes and their respective comments. EDIT 2: Spellcheck. Edited August 24, 2008 by Tarfful
