Skipper 24 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) Are the assassin droids in the BP meant to be Ziro the Hutts from the film? Also wouldn't they just use Jabba as Ziro and skip the printing? Edited November 2, 2008 by Skipper 24
Light Light Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 No, I remember seeing a scene featured in a preview for the TV series showing Anakin and Ahsoka taking on Assasin Droids, and I know for a fact this scene was not in the film.
The Penguin Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Are the assassin droids in the BP meant to be Ziro the Hutts from the film? Also wouldn't they just use Jabba as Ziro and skip the printing? Na-a-h! ) The minifig of Jabba will never do! Ziro does care about his appearance and is much slimmer than Jabba! ) Though I don't really understant the general dislike for Ziro.... He seems to be quite a nice character.... )
JimBee Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I wonder if the rumored Pirate Tank could be anything like the Clone Turbo Tank? That would be awesome. Just imagine the size and amount of minifigs As much as I liked the Turbo Tank, I don't think TLG needs to make another (or anything like it) so soon, if at all. Perhaps this will be revealed as more of the Clone Wars series unfolds. Who said that a "pirate tank" is owned by bounty hunters? I guess the misterious pirate tank belongs to everyones favourite space pirates... >snip< ...the Black Sun! Oh, I remember those guys, from a few comics a long time ago. They were wiped out by Darth Maul before The Phantom Menace, so they weren't in the movie, so it's doubtful that "pirate tank" will be an anniversary set if you were right about this. Plus, I doubt TLG will make a set from before Episode I, a part of the EU that isn't as widely know as say the Clone Wars or the events of TFU. Sorry, but I think that this theory isn't likely to be the Pirate tank. Good reference, though.
trooperdavinfelth Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 As Tim Bit mentioned above we've seen SBD's in the Clone Wars series sporting a big, rocket-launching, left arm. So LEGO's decided to give us some of them... good stuff! Really? I haven't seen the rocket arm yet. This is Hasbro's representation of the droid, and I don't see anything like that except for two clunky shooting things, but the assumption that these arms were only applied later in the war bears no fruit seeing as you encounter Supers right after you meet up with Sev and they have these arms, and that's on Geonosis. But maybe it's only the SBDs in close quarters, which would sorta make sense because in Epi. 2 and Epi. 3 you only see SBDs with a measly laser arm. Ah well, I'll wait for the series. Who said that a "pirate tank" is owned by bounty hunters? I guess the misterious pirate tank belongs to everyones favourite space pirates... ...the Black Sun! Yeah, notice the 'Pirate' in the name. Black Sun ON! Na-a-h! ) The minifig of Jabba will never do! Ziro does care about his appearance and is much slimmer than Jabba! ) Though I don't really understant the general dislike for Ziro.... He seems to be quite a nice character.... ) Most people say(and I haven't seen the movie; I patiently await the DVD release ) that his voice sounds like a child molester.
Justin2224 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 His voice does sound like a child malestor, kinda creepy really, but a new Hutt would be awesome.
ADHO15 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Here are the comparisons between the LEGO models and the vehicles from the film: The Republic Attack Shuttle Film LEGO In my opinion, LEGO could have made a much more accurate representation of this ship. However, the model looks good and I will probably buy it (as long as it's not too expensive). The Armoured Assault Tank Film LEGO A much better comparison, I think, than the shuttle. Good job TLG! My favourite set and a definite buy! Also, I was watching the 3rd Clone Wars Episode on youtube and saw the new Super Battle Droid in a preview of the 4th episode. Here it is for comparison with the minifig (go to about 2:06) I'm starting to want a Clone Wars Y-Wing with the new 'Shadow Squadron' pilots in and Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter to go with them now I've seen that episode. Hope this post was worth something to someone.
Derek Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Most people say(and I haven't seen the movie; I patiently await the DVD release ) that his voice sounds like a child molester. Yeah pretty much. I would rather have another Jabba (which I don't have) than his creepy uncle. Ziro the Hutt = the worst, and possibly the most comparable to a pedifile, SW character ever.
JimboJones Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Yeah pretty much. I would rather have another Jabba (which I don't have) than his creepy uncle. Ziro the Hutt = the worst, and possibly the most comparable to a pedifile, SW character ever. Ziro's a guy? NO way but i thought it was his Aunt. Havent you herd its voice?!?!?!
darkrebellion Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) I think Ziro is not the best Star Wars character ever created and in the movie is not that great but it surely could make a great minifig. Just paint Jabba in purple and gave him a kind of piece to grab two feather pieces . Edited November 3, 2008 by darkrebellion

The Penguin Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Ziro's a guy? NO way but i thought it was his Aunt. Havent you herd its voice?!?!?! Well, first of all, Hutts are hermaphrodites, so it can't really be a male or female character. ) I guess, the Hutts can choose if they want to be male or female.... ))))) But, due to the mannerisms that are so typical for Ziro and a quite a typical voice, I guess, it's not that hard to understand everything about him.... ) And I suppose that having such a colourful character in SW is great! )

Hope this post was worth something to someone. Oh, it was. I agree that the tank is very well done(although notice that that gap on the bottom front is a little wider in the actual model), but the shuttle is also well done, considering proportions. The coloring on the wings is perfect, as is the side and top of the ship(albeit the missile thing which kinda sticks out but is probably retractable), and the cockpit is only slightly inaccurate as the twin gun pods and the bit of yellow both should be further forward; indeed, most of the red overhang should be removed in this instance. Also, remember all ye Ziro wanters: Purple no mo.
Tim Bit Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Thank you adho15 for PROOF That they were in tcw already.
legopiotre Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I really like all the sets and I think the Republic shuttle is not as bad as that. I just think it should be bigger with more clones (at least one more pilot clone). I am very found of the new AAT and I hope we will have soon more details about the new superbattle droid arms. About the Ashoka starfighter, I really like the new droid but I wish the vulture droid was in the same color scheme than the ep III ones we get in the utimate space battle.
Captain REX Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 look at the RAS picture again: Is it just me or those the clone standing next to mace Windu have grey mark on the right of his torso?
ADHO15 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) look at the RAS picture again: Is it just me or those the clone standing next to mace Windu have grey mark on the right of his torso? I think that may just be some error or the lighting. The same clone in the minifig box in the top-right doesn't have any torso markings. About the Ashoka starfighter, I really like the new droid but I wish the vulture droid was in the same color scheme than the ep III ones we get in the utimate space battle. I too am annoyed with LEGO's constant updates of the vulture droid. I have 3 different types already and then they make a fourth. I'd like them to stay with the Trade Federation and CIS versions they have now and include them in future sets. Edited November 3, 2008 by ADHO15
Skipper 24 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Just checked and we are pretty lucky we got those pics because they have all just been taken down off the shopping site.
Light Light Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Is anyone else angry with the Buzz Droids? Three years, and we still don't have a new version.
Dark Brickz Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 hey whats up everybody just found out something great. i went to the mall to buy some stuff and i went over to the lego store and i asked them when are the new sets coming out they said in december... but they said they will only get small suppies of each set.
ADHO15 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is anyone else angry with the Buzz Droids? Three years, and we still don't have a new version. Not really. I don't think there is much they can do to improve them. I just took the legs and saw off mine and it looks ok. hey whats up everybody just found out something great. i went to the mall to buy some stuff and i went over to the lego store and i asked them when are the new sets coming out they said in december... but they said they will only get small suppies of each set. Lets hope they put them on Shop@Home in a month then!
hollisbrick Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is anyone else angry with the Buzz Droids? Three years, and we still don't have a new version. whats wrong with them? I kinda like them, pretty sweet IMO. Although ADHO15 is right.
legopiotre Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is anyone else angry with the Buzz Droids? Three years, and we still don't have a new version. At least, we won't have different versions of it like we can have with the vulture droid. The LEGO version is not very accurate but I don't think we can make them look really better unless they create new special pieces to build them. So I think and finally hope we will stay with this version.
SWMAN Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Is anyone else angry with the Buzz Droids? Three years, and we still don't have a new version. I am not really sure how you could improve them.
iotacode Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) Any smaller they'll look like Maul's probe droids Edited November 4, 2008 by iotacode
