iH Master 13uilder17 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I have to disagree, I think the price was alright, it actually gave us about the same amount of figs as in the last ATTE plus, the clone BP is comming out soon so you can stuff as many clones as you want in your asss vehicle but im hard broke from buying 1 RGS, 2 AT-TEs, and 1 Separtist Spider Droid. It's almost like Lego had this evil scheme on like they knew that we were gonna be unhappy with the amount of clones we get in the bigger sets so they release bps to supplement that. 1 AT-TE per bp as well as the RGS should do. it's almost like you pay an additional $10-15 for your big set. Think about it. An Australian retailers says we'll have these sets in 2009:7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid 7749 - Echo Base 7778 - Millennium Falcon Mid Scale 8036 - Separatists Shuttle 8037 - Anakins Y-Wing Starfighter 8039 - Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser makes sense because we usually see the more expensive sets mid summer. I want another tank droid after the Wookiee attack. I'm mostly concerned about The Clone Wars sets not the Imperial Era. I've seen too MANY Millenium falcons and the clone wars Y-wing is almost like the Rebel Y-wing. I really would like the Venator although i hope it's not like the $100 ISD. That was terrible in my opinion.
Matteo Kenobi Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I know the Falcon is really an iconic symbol but most of us at this point have a falcon and I am pretty dissapointed not to see an endor playset. You have no idea how much I hope that list is wrong, but I would think the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid would be Clone Wars, as its not OT, this seems to be just another rumor list.
iH Master 13uilder17 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Possibly the 77 at the beginning of the first three sets on the list means they aren´t in the Clone Wars style, so the 7748 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid possibly includes some Phase II troopers and none of these new mold Phase I troopers.Just my 2 cents... no if you remember in the movie the battle of christophsis. there were corporate alliance tank droids next to the AAT's when the sheild generator was up. Here's the wookieepdia article on the battle, they're called: NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcers http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Battle_of_Christophsis

Think about it. You just figured that out? Obviously they design sets so you want/need to buy battlepacks Either your very naive or very......well.... I for one love battlepacks - they could load every set with 30 clone troopers and i'd still want more
MaxRebo Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I know the Falcon is really an iconic symbol but most of us at this point have a falcon.. But not everyone. Personally I think having a cheaper 'midi' version is a great idea. The Falcon has always been a bit on the expensive side and this will be an opportunity for the rest of us to have one without breaking the bank.
tux Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 An Australian retailers says we'll have these sets in 2009:7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid 7749 - Echo Base 7778 - Millennium Falcon Mid Scale 8036 - Separatists Shuttle 8037 - Anakins Y-Wing Starfighter 8039 - Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser Still wondering if 8039 is the beauty some of us are waiting for or just a MINI...
Justin2224 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I doubt that its a mini, be cause the mini Venator we know of comes with January's Brickmaster. And those always have 5 digit numbers, so I think it will be like the ISD.

I say they aren't made with animated stuff. Why? Look at the set number: It's in the seven thousands, right next to Echo Base which is ALSO in the seven thousands, hence its adjacence. It makes perfect sense for it not to be animated... I doubt that its a mini, be cause the mini Venator we know of comes with January's Brickmaster. And those always have 5 digit numbers, so I think it will be like the ISD. I totally agree; I'd be SO stoked to see a Vennie with an opening main bay(the big red stripe) with a hangar, and minifigs ahoy...

Actually the Ahsoka Starfighter set is also 77.. and look it is Clone Wars based. The rumored Endor set is 80.. so I don´t think the numbers are any more than something related to the exclusiveness of the sets with that numbers .

Although still no Endor base, we get yet another Falcon. Ah, well, I might actually get this one. The rest sound good, except for Anakin's Y-wing. Why must it be Anakin's? I would much rather have a Clone pilot. They're also called Snail Tanks. Now that would be cool. I missed out on the first version, and maybe this one will be improved.

Virar Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Prices in Australian Dollars as listed by that Australian seller. 7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid A$39.99 (same price as Anakin's Jedi Starfighter) 7749 - Echo Base A$39.99 7778 - Millennium Falcon Mid Scale A$59.99 (same price as Droid Gunship) 8036 - Separatists Shuttle A$59.99 8037 - Anakins Y-Wing Starfighter A$99.99 (same price as V-19 torrent) 8039 - Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser A$229.99 (A$20 cheaper than Motorised AT-AT)
Justin2224 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Those prices arent to bad, ecspecially $20 USD for the Snail Tank, but $30 USD for the Falcon seems odd. Other than that I would buy them all.
darkrebellion Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 (edited) If the Millenium Falcon is about that price, than it means it is extremely probable to be a giant scale MINI and not a minifig one which is going to be . Giant MINIs OFF . Edited November 16, 2008 by darkrebellion
Justin2224 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Yeah, but it might be in scale with the Vaders TIE in the Death Star, so we may get a Lando and Nien Numb.
Dark Brickz Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Well seems interesting i guess ill wait till toyfare in feb and see whats up coming for the summer. So anyone going to the toyfare in nyc? i know i am....
hollisbrick Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Prices in Australian Dollars as listed by that Australian seller.7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid A$39.99 (same price as Anakin's Jedi Starfighter) 7749 - Echo Base A$39.99 7778 - Millennium Falcon Mid Scale A$59.99 (same price as Droid Gunship) 8036 - Separatists Shuttle A$59.99 8037 - Anakins Y-Wing Starfighter A$99.99 (same price as V-19 torrent) 8039 - Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser A$229.99 (A$20 cheaper than Motorised AT-AT) Thanks a bunch! Those prices are quite good for summer prices! And I'm glad the Echo base and the snail droid is quite cheap Me excited ON
Dark_Avenger Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 The rest sound good, except for Anakin's Y-wing. Why must it be Anakin's? I would much rather have a Clone pilot. Minifigs push set sales immensely. Working in a LEGO Store over the summer, the one question I got the most was "do you sell the little people separate?" A set will become much, much more appealing to a kid if it includes a major character for them to play with, hence the reason why several vehicles are character-specific rather than including army troops.
Light Light Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 True, but they are even more appealing when the set includes an exclusive, brand new, fig. Not one we can just get from a $20 set.
darkrebellion Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Well after my hype for the price of the rumored Millenium Falcon now I can comment about the prices themselves: 7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid A$39.99 (same price as Anakin's Jedi Starfighter) 7749 - Echo Base A$39.99 7778 - Millennium Falcon Mid Scale A$59.99 (same price as Droid Gunship) 8036 - Separatists Shuttle A$59.99 8037 - Anakins Y-Wing Starfighter A$99.99 (same price as V-19 torrent) 8039 - Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser A$229.99 (A$20 cheaper than Motorised AT-AT) 7748 - Perfect , the perfect price for a set like this one. 7749 - Another cool priced set, I suspect this maybe could be a Hoth rescue based set . 7778 - I think this is a joke by part of the TLC. They are really considering giving us a MILLENIUM FALCON for just around 30 bucks . 8036 - I think this price point adjust perfectly with the size of the ship so another good move TLC . 8037 - The price is good but I think 5 less bucks are a better price and if they could include new shadow squadron pilot than great but judging at the name I dobut it. 8039 - Good priced for what seems to be a 1300 and more pieces ship .
Matteo Kenobi Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 A $30 Falcon, this has non minifig scale written all over it. I can't imagine waht they could possibly do with this, I would much more love an Endor set. Oy vay, well we will see what comes from this I suppose.
JimBee Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Prices in Australian Dollars as listed by that Australian seller.7748 - Corporate Alliance Tank Droid A$39.99 (same price as Anakin's Jedi Starfighter) 7749 - Echo Base A$39.99 7778 - Millennium Falcon Mid Scale A$59.99 (same price as Droid Gunship) 8036 - Separatists Shuttle A$59.99 8037 - Anakins Y-Wing Starfighter A$99.99 (same price as V-19 torrent) 8039 - Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser A$229.99 (A$20 cheaper than Motorised AT-AT) Hmm, I have a hard time believing some of this (not that I'm accusing you of lying, of course). $20 for the Echo base either means it's really small and lame like 2007's door, or the price is incorrect. Same for the MF. I can see the prices for the other sets, though. Ah, I suppose... it's just irritating when we get the same fig over and over (that's not a trooper).
Light Light Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Yea, I'm rather confused by these new prices as well.
KimT Posted November 16, 2008 Author Posted November 16, 2008 I know the Falcon is really an iconic symbol but most of us at this point have a falcon and I am pretty dissapointed not to see an endor playset. Perhaps the rumored Millenium Falcon is an anniversary set with an oversized mini MF. Some kind of twisted mix betweeen mini and UCS? Again we'll have to wait for pictures to surface and find their way here.
