Derek Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 That box looks waaaaaay too big for that set...Hopefully the price isn't...
Darth Legolas Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I took some pictures of my AAT and Bomber Droid; they're not very good quality and the lighting is poor but it gives a good idea of everything. Let me know if you have any questions. =)http://www.flickr.com/photos/7953534@N06/3114388283/ Hey the speeder isn't half as bad as I thought'd it be! Good set, definitely. I LOVE that new pic of the solar sailor, I can tell from the pic Dooku has a curve-hilted saber! So far I love 2009! But Rcpeck... where did you get these???? I must know!
Bricks Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Sir Dano posted a new picture of the Solar Sailer on his Flickr page: THANKS for this picture! Another 'must-buy'-set of the cooming year 2009. I think it look's very nice, especially the minifgures (Dooku with a chrome lightsaber ) and a new pilot-droid. So well done LEGO, this set is just great as the others. -Hope we can enjoy better pictures soon- Greetings Bricks
CF Mitch Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 First of all: Thanks for the latest pictures, people Secondly: I really want the Solar Sailor, even if just for the figs. I think it will be kinda expensive though, considering the size (for as far as we have a decent picture, to judge). Ah well, I won't be buying too many sets anyway, just a few Clone Battle packs and that's it Greetings, CF W
The Rancor Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Same size as the V-19? I hope so, because I want Magnaguards and don't have the original magnaguard starfighter. The piloting droid looks a bit uninspriring, but I'll need a Clone wars Dooku and his Magnaguards! Thanks for those pictures Edited December 17, 2008 by The Rancor
rcpeck Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hey the speeder isn't half as bad as I thought'd it be! Good set, definitely. I LOVE that new pic of the solar sailor, I can tell from the pic Dooku has a curve-hilted saber! So far I love 2009!But Rcpeck... where did you get these???? I must know! I got them from a TRU in Lexington, KY. They're showing up at a bunch of TRU's in the US now.
Derek Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Same size as the V-19? I hope so, because I want Magnaguards and don't have the original magnaguard starfighter. I hope not! This set looks like it would cost $30, tops. Any more would be a total ripoff...
darkrebellion Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks for the pics rcpeck and Erdbeereis1 . The Hyena looks better than I think and I like it since the first pic was shown, so a MUST buy for me . The AAT looks incredible in the outside but I need to admit that the speeder really looks like pure crap and the worst part is that the cockpit looks so simple , well whatever I will buy it . The new Solar Sailer pic just make me want it more but I need to admit that don´t have a sail in the sailer is pretty dissapointing but the minifigs look pure awesome, so I wiil get it .
Darth Legolas Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Great news everyone! My ToysRus had pretty much all of the 22009 sets in, except for Indy Jones the RAS and the Hyena Bomber. I got 2 Clone BPs, 1 Assassin BP, and 1 AAT. Oh and the old JSF and Booster ring (Yes! I gots me a kitty!) So I aqdvise people to place there bets on ToyRus having them in by the holidays. They must've had some sorta deal considering Lego itself doesn't have them yet!
Corvus Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 The set's looking better, but the box art is totally uninspiring. It's a small picture of the set on this huge box. Ugh. Count Dooku looks great, though.
PMJ Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Don't know if this has been seem yet. . . IT LOOK LIKE THE LIGHTSABER HANDLE ISN'T ASAJJ's! (Don't know if I spelled that right) (Sorry, I just looked above How silly of me!) Edited December 17, 2008 by PMJ
Darth_Dracus Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I really want some of them assasin droids. I hate regular droids but I need some new arms for IG-88. My assasin droid army dream will come true!!!
Svelte Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Wow, they really went back to the 1999 Star Wars feel for that AAT speeder! The rest of the set looks really sleek and well-designed though. I think the Solar Sailer is bigger than people probably suspect. The box art for the (also) limited edition Twilight was kind of odd and a bit empty too so this is probably right.
hollisbrick Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks Erdbeereis1 I don't like how it is a LE. That normally means I wont get it for awhile and or a killer price. But if a can get my hands on it I will!
Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?! Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Still, my heart goes for this. I've wanted it since AotC first came!
daxflame680 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 They gave Yoda hair?!?! :pir_bawling: I didn't even like the idea of a Clown Wars Yoda in the first place!
Tim Bit Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I don't know about a full on review but here are a few thoughts on each set:Droid Bomber This set is HUGE. For whatever reason I didn't really pay attention to the relative size of the droids on the box and thought it would be roughly the same size as the other vulture droids but I was wrong, it's really, really big. I like how the mechanism for the legs/wings work as they are very pose able. To move them from flying to standing position there's a little clicking bendable piece that allows them to be locked into a number of different positions and for the stabilizer parts of the wings they fold out using the little half circle snap pieces (like this http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=6019) that connect from both the stabilizer and to the mechanism that folds the wings down so each part is very pose able. Overall it is pretty sturdy but the right head can move up and down utilizing the droid arms to move and the bottom of the left head can move as well (it has a little eye thing on it and I think it's supposed to be some sort of targeting mechanism, we'll have to wait until they appear on the clone wars to know for sure), so anyway, both of these parts can move utilizing the droid arm system so you have to get good at knowing where to hold it cause if you grab it by either of those heads then it moves around in your grip (does that make sense?). The bomb dropping system works really well and you can see in the pictures I posted earlier how it works. You pull back on one of two tabs that's held in place by a rubber band and it will realize one of the sets of two bombs. And Finally the minifigs are really cool as well. I like the color a lot and the look of the jetpack. For $20 (even at TRU where I got it) it's a great set to add to your CIS Army and it looks very menacing hovering over some tiny minifigs. There was a bunch of stickers to put on though which as always is a hassle. AAT This set is REALLY great. The only complaints people had about it when the pictures first came out was that it did not have a hatch in the back and the speeder was pretty cheap. I felt the same way but upon building it and seeing how the speeder locks in place and the back half folds up to make a hatch I really like it. It feels very solid, even on the moving parts and there's a ton of places to pick it up by without feeling like it's going to fall apart. There are two different hatches, one for the main body and the other for the seat in the cannon. The one on the main body looks down to where the speeder snaps in and is pretty deep at like 5 bricks. The second in the gun is not big at all the droid has bend his head down to fit inside, which is a shame but probably necessary in order to have a cannon that looks to scale. The main cannon assembly rotates on a big circular gray piece that fits into a square black piece that I have never seen before. It allows the assembly to rotate very smoothly about 45 degrees in each direction where it is stopped by a small stud sticking up. The main cannon also lifts up about 90 degrees. The smaller cannons are both sadly flick fire missiles which looks very goofy when they are taken out but if you just leave them in place it doesn't look too bad and the gray parts sticking out of the back don't look too out of place. The tank sits on 8 of the little gray inverted satellite dish pieces which allow it to move around very easily and on a hard surface it will spin with only the slightest tap which is very cool in my opinion. The minifigs are also another great part of this set. You get two regular battle droids to operate the tank, three of the new super battle droids with the cannon arms which are very cool. And a clone trooped and the new clone wars Yoda, which you can see the pictures of in my above post. I am personally a fan of the clone wars figures so I like Yoda a lot and the new chrome, but not chrome, lightsabers are very nice and won't requiring me to switch out a gray one for one of my old chrome ones like I've done on all the other sets with lightsabers. This set was $50 at TRU which is a little much in my opinion for 403 (I think) pieces it should only be around $40, which it will probably be at most other stores. It also had a few stickers which were a pain but overall the set was amazing and it pretty much a must have for any CIS army. Let me know if you guys have any other questions or want more specific pictures. Thanks for that rpeck! How deep does the back hatch tipe thing go in? It dosent look like were getting the "comander" Magnaguard in dukos solar sailor after all.
matanui911 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 (edited) Darth vader's tie fighter is a classic, I'm glad that they are bringing it back! Edited December 18, 2008 by matanui911
Snake...SNAKE...SNAAAAKE?! Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 They gave Yoda hair?!?! :pir_bawling: I didn't even like the idea of a Clown Wars Yoda in the first place! The film really was the "Clown Wars" AAT must buy, same for the clone pack
ROCON Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I'm not sure if anyones noticed but in the new Solar Sailor box art, Count Dooku's face on his bike is colored brown. Oh and Lego.com/starwars does let you see Dooku's face a bit more clear in comic 5.
Marky688 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 The folder isn't available anymore and the first pic is gone. Could somebody tell me please what could be seen on them. And why does this mean that they will be in S@H soon, as they aren't even in Cache!? That's my folder I changed something on it but don't no how to make It public again can someone help pls
Oky Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 (edited) Ah! We are getting closer and closer to finding out how Dooku looks! The next pic that comes up will hopefully reveal what he looks like exactly at last. I like the fact that he comes with a hood, and his speeder doesn't look too bad! I'm kinda disapointed by the pilot droid, though. I mean, a white battle droid doesn't even look close to this: They could have at least replaced the legs with something brick-built that looks a more like the lower body of that pilot droid; something involving cheese slopes perhaps? They gave Yoda hair?!?! :pir_bawling: I didn't even like the idea of a Clown Wars Yoda in the first place! Do you ever like anything?! :hmpf_bad: Seriously, man, most of your 61 posts here are negative comments! I would appreciate it if you could lighten up a bit. This is the scene: As I said in the other thread, I hope he doesn't look this strange and more like the one in the show.

Thanks Oky The only reason he looks strange is because you can't see his beard. I quite like the eyes myself.
