natelite Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 How about $35, like the Homing Spider Droid? Ahsokas ship, around $20, like Anakins + Vulture droid, around $5-7 +TRU markup = $35 nah. vulture droid goes for $20. recall previous set (2005 or 06, can't remember). but i guess you got me on the HSD. hehehe...so it's possible the ahsoka set is $40 then. though i still think it's 80% chance to be priced at $50 and a 20% chance it will be $40.

Definitely not. There's a 400% chance of it being 35 USD. And I'm pretty dang sure that's right. I mean the Homing Spider Droid was 10$ more. ANd this is about a $20 worth or $25 so it should be $35. But 50? You've GOT to be kidding me.

darkrebellion Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 (edited) Well I still think both Ahsoka Starfighter and the Solar Sailor will be $29.99 retailer price tag (S@H) and if them end been TRU exclusives just add the plus of $5 more and you end with $35, pretty fair in my opinion . HSD has much lower parts count that either of those sets and you are saying they should be priced lower? like i said, mark my word and prove me wrong.
Erdbeereis Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 I don't know... Both sets seem to have way too many pieces to be in the $20 to $30 range, especially with the latest price mark-ups. When you think about it, the Homing Spider Droid was $30 on S@H when it should have been $20 at least piece-wise, and both of these seem to have quite a few more pieces than the HSD.

I think you've got mixed up between a standard vulture and the hyena droid bomber. The Hyena droid bomber is WAYYY bigger... A standard Vulture droid would make up $5-$10 of a set. By the time you have the LE TRU markup, i would say $35-$40. How about $35, like the Homing Spider Droid? Ahsokas ship, around $20, like Anakins + Vulture droid, around $5-7 +TRU markup = $35 Right on target Darthperson. As for the Solar Sailor, I'm gonna say $50. Its much bigger than people are giving it credit for... Edited December 20, 2008 by legoman
Oky Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 So, what do you guys think about the new magnet set? Do you think they are glued to the plate behind their legs or not?
posades Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 So, what do you guys think about the new magnet set? Do you think they are glued to the plate behind their legs or not? I would think so, otherwise what would be the point of including it? TLC may have done this in order to differentiate magnets from regular minifigs; either way, I'll probably order them soon and find out.
halomaster96 Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 So, what do you guys think about the new magnet set? Do you think they are glued to the plate behind their legs or not? I think it is a great magnet set, especially since it has such a rare minifig. It's glued on for sure; another question about magnets is why you can't take there legs off.
Dark Brickz Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Well found out some news, dont know if its true or not but i heard it from the lego rep at the lego store but Solar Sailer is a TRU exclusive and Ahsoka's fighter could be target or walmart exclusive. And the price for them USD Solar Sailer $39.99 and Ahsoka's fighter $29.99....
CloneMe Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 For gawds sake!$40 is PEANUTS In the UK we pay twice that! ...and thats STILL peanuts According to the rules this site is for people 18+ and you cant afford $40? In an entire year? Lego might be expensive for a toy but its NOT EXPENSIVE, how much have you people spent on drink and ciggs just this week? Its not $1000 to buy EVERY Star Wars set in a year - for a hobby thats pretty cheap ...how many other hobbies cost that little? Enough with cost moaning - either enjoy Lego or dont, but dont spoil it for the rest of us Are you on Ferrari message boards moaning they are too expensive? no. I dont really like the ferrari series. The news sounds resenable. Ill have to think about getting them though. The solar sailor just dosent seem like that good of a set. But I probably will get it in the end.I never really like the magnets. I mean Their ok but their not something Im really into.

Exactly what I guessed, those are about right... if they go any higher then Lego'd lose more money then they'd gain. Nobody'll buy Ahsoka's starfighter for more than $30! in 2005 a set that size would cost $25!

KimT Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 First post has been updated with the new set numbers and formerly unconfirmed sets.
Darth Legolas Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 First post has been updated with the new set numbers and formerly unconfirmed sets. In my mind, they were all confirmed. All except for The Slave I and landing pad, the Monc AL cruiser, the arrest of palpy, and the Pirate tank.

Confirmation calls for either official release or stores listing them. Everything else is speculation.
L-space Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Wow, for me this is the first likely mentioning of the Home One set. perhaps my extensive voting did pay of. However, the waiting for the pics now begins.....
Big Pete Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 btw, I saw the Ashoka's fighter set in the Lego Shop in Brighton today. The price was a shade under £30 due to the new VAT charges. I noted that there was no price info in the first post :) They were also charged £9.74 for the battle packs. But that could just be the price for Lego Stores which are sometimes a little higher than other stores.
