Shadows Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 There is no picture of the Gunship. *sad* The Clones have episode II helmet or episode III helmet ? 8-| Not being familiar with Clone Wars, do both E2 and E3 clones appear in it? That V-19 pilot sure looks E3 to me, though I'd be thrilled to get a yellow E2 clone (or any variation). *wub* Overall, I really expect to be happy with these sets. Don't look for another quotable "Imperial Crapship" comment out of me this time, unless we get surprised later. I am tired of Anime Skywalker already though. >:-( Crap, I did it again, didn't I? :-|
Sir von Lego Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Hey, I wonder if it is just me who is a bit disappointed about the number of figs in the sets? TLC did in the last two years a really good job including tons of minifigs in small and bigger sets. But these sets seem to contain only the half of figs, I expected..Especially for the AT-TE I thought that it will include 8 or more figs! All sets still are great and I will get them all of course! One more point to critizise: the box art is just awful!!!! I hope that they will change them and create something totally different! The only good thing is that the box art includes and EII clone trooper helmet.. *sweet* greetings Hendrik
Siegfried Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 They are very nice looking sets! *wub* It looks like my chance to buy Ep. 2 clones has finally arrived! :'-) I hope that the AT-TE is not motorised, but I not to worried as it doesn't look like it is to me... I think! :-P The other sets have some good pieces in them too. Thanks HOBBES_SG! *sweet* I wonder if it is just me who is a bit disappointed about the number of figs in the sets? I'm cool with the fig number.
Shadows Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I wonder if it is just me who is a bit disappointed about the number of figs in the sets? TLC did in the last two years a really good job including tons of minifigs in small and bigger sets. I don't know, it's seems to vary a lot every year. This year we had the TIE Crawler, a $50 exclusive with a whopping 2 figures (that are now part of a $10 set with 1 of them and 3 other figures). On the other hand, we got Hoth with 7 nice figures at the same price. I thought the Republic Cruiser was skimpy with 5 @ $90 but I don't ever expect to see the Republic pilots again, so I'm not going to complain. The Naboo fighter was a decent deal with 3, including a new pilot, and a lot better for me than the original one with 2 and the battle droids. Clearly, different types of figures count differently in the design budget, or we wouldn't have ended up with 20 battle droids in the MTT. Ultimately, it all seems to average out somehow with LEGO going all over the place on this. As time passes, minifig count makes a bigger difference for me. I'm becoming more focused on them than the sets (especially in SW, where we get a lot of the same ships over and over). To make me happy, they just need to include one completely new figure in a set, and a handful of recycled ones (which can be done very well, if they're creative about it). Battle packs make up for a whole slew of disappointments, so I hope they continue as well. Bottom line... keep making those minifigs and keep making me happy. Maybe be a bit more generous with them here and there (like E2 clones in the AT-TE). Otherwise, make an E2 clone battlepack in 2009 and I won't complain a bit. See how that works? ;-)

THE-FORCE Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) I don't like the new sets because they look a bit weird and fake! The box look also not so nice. I hope they would be better when they come out. Edited December 30, 2007 by THE-FORCE
Commander Faie Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Hmmm.. it looks like the at-te has longer legs. It looks like a tiger about to pounce.
Joey Lock Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I hope the LEGO has taken all the feedback from reviews and changed the Republic Gunship such as the back and well the whole thing needs rethinking. I hope its not just gonna be a blue same old republic gunship. Also If its gonna be around the same price as MTT its gotta put up a good fight so it needs new classes Arcs and Pilots and it needs to be big to fit in around say 10 troops since the MTT contains around 20 Droids and Troops are harder to find than droids. It needs some new jedis to. Whatta you think?

Oky Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 This AT-TE has a motor that will dissapoint people. I don't mind; I'll get it anyway. *sad* A motor, huh! 8-| I knew there was something up with the TECHNIC look of those legs! |-/ Now I notice what bothered me about this set: It reminds very much of the Walking AT-AT - it's an old AT-set that is being rereleased with slight design changes & with more TECHNICal legs! You might be right that this might disappoint people, but as I remember, people didn't complain about the AT-AT too much either, and I know I won't because it's been a while since we had an AT-TE and I think it will be cool to see the AT-TE crawl over the floor on its own! *sweet*

If it was it would be called "Motorized AT-TE". And I don't see how the legs are more technical, they're still built mainly out of system pieces. I reackon the legs on this model are way better than the legs on the last one.

If you haven't seen it, run to the store and buy the 2 DVDs right now - THET'RE AWESOME!!! *y* As for the new one, only Ep II clones are known to appear in it. Therefore I too expect the V-19 and all the new sets to feature yellow helmed EP II clone pilots, especially the RGS! *sweet* And about the Anie - I'm still lovin the hair! :-P I like that name you came up with though! Hey, how about we all call the new Anakin Skywalker "Anime Skywalker"! X-D

Let's hope that with all these Clone Wars sets there will some day also be an Ep II clone trooper battle pack! That would be awesome *wub* ... Edited December 30, 2007 by Oky Wan Kenobi
WookieeWarrior Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 As for the new one, only Ep II clones are known to appear in it. According to show runner Dave Filoni, we're going to see a switch in the armor as the series progresses. So eventually we'll see Ep III clones.
pedro Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 These new sets look great IMO! The Magna droid fighter is a great looking spaceship, it has a real distinctive design. I'm interested to see Lego's take on the Magna-droids themselves too... I think a lot of people will want several of these accompanying their General Grievous'! Might not be my first choice for purchasing but a nice set nontheless! The AT-TE looks like a great evolution of the original set, more accurate, more detailed, more figures. All good really! It'll be interesting to see exactly which minifigs come with it. More episode 2 clonetroopers is great and I'd personally like an ARC trooper or ten (;-) )or addtitional Jedi. There's been a lot of excited specualtion about this so far with people trying to figure out exactly what the names are on the images; but it's worth pointing out that these are still preliminaries and even these, like the shadows of the minifigs, could change before the final versions! I love the design of the Torrent ever since I saw it in the Clone Wars animated series, so I'll defo buy this set. I do agree with some comments made about it's windshield not being sleek enough, but that'll be ripe for moding which I'll be happy to do!
casewindu Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Oh what great new finds these sets look superb well done in finding them! The Magna-guard star fighter is different to the picture I posted, sorry for leading you all astray, or maybe thats exactly what I wanted to do hee hee >:-) I am very greatful for the new AT-TE as I was unable to get the first one! X-D
Dino_Bot Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 This is a dream come true. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! TORRENT!!!YAAAAAAAAAAY.
NATO93 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Why does it seem like they keep making up Star Wars ships. None of these were in the movies! Maybe except the AT-TE...but still, come on! *sing*
steelharbingerofdeath Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) well modern day children grew up with PT and EU(thanks to cartoon network) and most star wars games nowadays are EU so what do you expect, plus they are milking star wars to death, thats lucas and lego. anyway if you had any other origional trilogy sets they would be remakes and after time remakes get dull. thats why i never buy x wings, or ties. steel... Imperial13 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Anyone notice the blue droid in the corner on a BLUE STAP?
Scouty Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Yes, Vader mentioned it first, I think :-) !!

Maybe except the AT-TE...but still, come on! *sing* I know what you mean (I can't spot the V-Wing anywhere in the movies or cartoon show :-( ), but these are from the upcoming "The Clone Wars" CG-animated show and will be released around the time the series starts (Fall). So, you're kind of right by saying they're making 'em up, but it's not TLC, it's the designers working on the show and of course Lucas who's working with them! I think EU is great, but if you don't like it... *sad* Btw, if anyone could tell me where to find the V-Wing, please tell me! ;-) Edited December 31, 2007 by Oky Wan Kenobi
