Notice the text beneath the AT-AP box? "Expanding the LEGO Star Wars Universe"

...A hint of things to come?!?

It's probably LEGO stating that they'll be doing Expanded Universe sets this year.

O I love this new sets! They're really great! *wub*

The Rogue Shadow looks very interesting....hm. There are a lot of special bricks. I'm going to buy it, because it's the first set of "The Force Unleashed"-Game. The apprentice of Vader looks very nice, but I can't see him clearly. The battle damaged Darth Vader looks very great.

Hailfire Droid an Spider Droid is the perfect battle pack! The Spider Droid - Head - it's bronze, isn't it?

The AT-AP is perfectly designed. The long laser gun onto the AT-AP looks pretty cool! *sweet*

But the Tantive 4-Rebels are the best minifigs of all! They are great. :'-)

I hope, their will be more pictures soon... :-$

I don't think so. It's really not the best pic, and you cannot say it's fugly yet. We need more and better pics!

Yes, the Rogue Shadow doesn't look as nice as the other sets, but I don't call this set fugly. ;-)

Nice, but I've missed the newsbreak by a day... again. |-/

Anyway, onto the sets themselves.

Imperial Dropship: Not much, but I suppose it's got 3/4 (I can't really tell) Stormies, and it'll probably be cheap, so it's an 'okay.'

Rebel Scout Speeder: Same really. But the 4 Rebel Troopers are really, really nice. I mean, how long have we been asking for them? And now we've got them!

Hailfire/Spider Droids: Nice SuperBP. That's, what, 3 BDs, 1 SBD, a nice enough Spider Droid, and an okay Hailfire. I'll wait for bigger pics though.

At-Ap: Now this is nice. It's simple, but looks like it should. It also looks as though the trooper walking has yellow helmet stripe. They're definitely Ep3 though, which is good as they should be for an AT-AP.

Rogue Shadow: Not being familiar with this, I can't really say too much about it, but it looks alright. Not brilliant, but alright. The DV Battle-damaged fig looks interesting, and Juno should be good.

All in all, a pretty nice, rounded selection.

Well, this certainly is surprising! I leave the computer alone for 2 days, and looks what happens while I'm away! I'm with BB there. The Rogue Shadow, it looks like the crow of all ships. What can I say... :-X The Scout Speeder. The Rebels are just awesome. The Imperial Dropship, meh, what I expected. Still a nice set. The Hailfire Droid+Dwarf Spider Droid, nice looking. It appears that the Hailfire droid's missiles fire... 8-

one question. What becomes the Anakin's jedi starfighter?

It's confirmed? 8-|

I already posted that somewhere ;-) :

LEGO Star Wars 7669 - Anakin's Jedi Starfighter EUR 25,99

So YES it is confirmed !!

Does anyone knows , whos that guy at the Dropship , is that the a Pilot behind the cockpit??

It really looks like a Tie Pilot to me unfortunatly |-/

I have some more things to add.

The Rebel Scout speeder is a nice ground vehicle for the rebels. You could use a few of those and take out an

At-St or chicken walker.

The AT-AP is a perfect artillery unit for anyone's clone army, It's the clone opposite of the AAT.

The stormtrooper drop ship is a perfect set for people who want to drop in a few troops without the

need of a bulky carrier .

The hailfire droid looks great for the missile gimmick thing. The hail fire droid specializes in hit and run type of

warfare, which make these things worthy opponents for the AT-AP's.

AS for the RS, I'm not too impressed with it, but the minifigs looks interesting.

I think that it will come out later in the year as one of the clone wars sets that we have been hearing about. I think there will be 8???

How many times I have to write that for Pete's sake !! Its a JANUARY set ! Can you please keep that in mind and stop this !! I'm getting fed up repeating myself >:-(

Guys, take into account that we don't see all the set pics at once! I specifically remember not seeing the Exo-Force Gate Assult set until December of 2005, and that was a part of the January line up!

Of course. The Expanded Universe has come to stay. Now, there are plenty of ships, creatures, locations and characters to be brought into LEGO. AND making CASH...

I think (I've read the whole 6 pages) we don't like the Rogue Shadow thing, absolutely. BUT when it become available, many people here will buy it... because of the minifigs...

OK, many people bought "the house of plates" thing Cloud City because of Lando, but... too many cash for one only fig. Perhaps hardcore collectors will understand this kind of choice... LEGO has money in mind, of course, and will continue as long as this license won't end with many many kind of models wich one only reason to exist is a minifig or two.

Personally, I like a lot the two battlepacks (even with ONLY 3 TROOPERS...bad bad...) and I like the AT-AP very very much. The hailfire and spider mecha looks good, kinda "I've got a Geonosian war on my table" (little thingies ON).

So, I think TLC is showing ugly ships up (Rogue Shadow, Republic Cruiser) that will sell not for its design bot for their "included minifigs".

Just my 2 spanish cents ^_^

Battlepacks! Yeah *y* :-P X-D :-D X-D

(25 minutes later)

Oh ,there are also other sets, they look nice, I don't know if I want them all, but they look nice

I have only 4 stormtroopers from the last 6 years, so i'm very happy with the BP, The rebels looks fine too (I hope they have different faces) although I hope there will also be Snowtroopers and Hoth rebels battle packs someday.

Nope, they don't belong anywhere :-P

Well they are from the "universe" of ep4 but since they do not exist and don't look that great, they don't belong anywhere ;-)

Thank you for the information, xwingyoda!

Sorry! I didn't know that Lego is allowed to produce vehicles which aren't element of the films.

Sorry! I didn't know that Lego is allowed to produce vehicles which aren't element of the films.

For that you have to thank Hasbro :-P

From my understanding of the SW licence, Lego cannot release real MF packs, meaning only mfs not to contradict Hasbro !! Which is bloody stupid IMO since they don't operate on the same market X-D

Maybe thats ine reason why they didn't release a Hoth BP with a Taun Taun ??

So in order to release cool MF packs, they have to throw in small vehicles !! Its weird that Lucas authorises vehicles thate are non existent in the films but on the 4 BPs (excluding the Hailfire one which is way more expensive) they were all made up (except the STAP) !!

At least when TLC will release Endore sets (hopefully in 2009 - I want my dark tan ewoks and my Endor Rebels !!) they will do existing vehicles :-P

I'm not all that impressed, probably just my Star Wars fatigue (coupled with my strong dislike of fleshtones). I may pick up the rebel troopers set, but will probably pass on the rest.

Dude, I hear ya. After reading through the thread, and seeing everyone raving and gushing over the new sets, I thought I was only one who was unimpressed. I think I have Star Wars Fatigue Syndrome too. I guess it's to be expected after close to a decade and hundreds of sets. I'm still interested whenever new mini-figs crop up, like the rebel troopers, but that's really it. I also have no interest in EU sets or Clone Wars sets. I think I'm just finally getting bored with the whole theme.

Oh well, that leaves more money for Batman and City!
