So having been inspired by Dr S's (think it was him) extended King's Castle 7094, I thought I'd have a go myself. I managed to pick up another King's Castle set with a few missing pieces the other day off ebay, so as soon as that comes, I'll have enough spare parts to start construction. In the mean time, I've designed what I want to achieve using LDD. Here are the screenshots of what I've come up with so far:

Obviously, I've had to improvise when it comes to the castle wall elements, and the battlement elements, as they don't appear to be in LDD. As far as I've worked out, the bridge should connect with the King's tower. The main aim of it is to be a wizards tower of sorts. Obviously, the real thing will have more detail added to it. Not sure what to do with the middle room in the tower, hence the addition of the ladder. I'll probably just use it as a guard room.

I just felt as though the castle needed beefing up somewhat. Hopefully, this goes some way to solving the problem. Please let me know what you think anyway.

EDIT:

Well, I managed to pick up another brand new King's Castle Siege off of eBay for 38 quid, as it was missing two of the BURP's, so I've been able to build the above. Here are some picks of it in the flesh, so to speak:

And a couple of piccies of it attached to the castle:

And finally, a comparison shot of the new wall and as it comes with the set:

I'm pretty pleased with the result. All I need to do now is pick up a Good Wizard set so I can kit out the Wizards tower properly :)

C&C, as always, is welcome.

OK, every other old person fess up. When you read the title, you thought of the Kings Castle #6080, didn't you.

I sure did.

Steve

I'm not that old (20), but yeah, I thought the same (even after I saw the picture I still thought that somehow  ), maybe with some adaptions this adition could be used for 6080.

But I can't really get an impression of it now, without being attached to the castle.

Is that new castle also called king's castle?

The new one is King's Castle Siege (7094). I'll add the set number to the title so all you old folks don't get upset (even though I'm one of em! :D).

I'll also try and create the bit of the castle it attaches to to give you a more rounded out idea of what I'm trying to do.

Yep, definitely thought, Hey, someone is finally bringing 6080 back into the Forums! Well, nice addition anyhow! A  from me!

I'm not that old, I wasn't born the year the original knights castle was made (born in 1988 by the way), and so in a way, I did expect the Kings Castle Siege and not the Original King's Castle, which looks great, but not as awesome as this new one though. Anyway, nice addition BTW.

Just a quick /bump to this topic, as I've actually built the designed addition to the Castle, and have added new pics to the first post.

Cheers,

Kurtt

And I must say that I'm somewhat stunned.

That is one nice addition You've done there.

Now I must go and find me another Castle to add to my collection in order to try something like that.

Keep up the good work.

I think that I will do a quick eBay search to find a Castle set cheap to do this with. I don't need the figures, so hopefully I can get it for like $50 bucks.

Yes, your improvements really "tuned" it up, now it looks like a large castle indeed.

BTW: Your Royal castle looks a lot better then the 7094 and 6080 Royal castles !
