In the tense silence, Soren shifted over to Zaria,

This looks like a strict ride; if things get hairy we may have to shoot our way in.

Zaria looked over to Soren and grinned, giving a short laugh. "Well, it's a good thing we're going to the gun show." Zaria flexed her right bicep and gave it a kiss before continuing to laugh. "Let's hope we do not cross that road, but if we do, I will have your back, Soren."

Soren allowed himself a slight chuckle at the elf's joke. I'm sure we'll see if your 'guns' are up for the task sooner or later.

Still, Soren's anxiety wasn't much eased. Slow down, he thought to himself, be present. He took a deep breath, elementally cooling the air as he did. The icy coldness ran through his body, putting his senses on alert. His hand reached casually to his hip, close to his blaster - just in case. After a five-count, he released his breath, letting a small cloud of vapor escape his lips. Just like that, his jitters vanished into sheer focused awareness. Whatever happens, happens.

Yelana surveyed the crowd, her eyes flicking from one person to another.
"Hmm. . . No sign of the targets, things look fairly normal. . ."
Yelana looked towards the Human on the bench beside her.
"<Probably Blackguard - Get confirmation, scan that datapad, and enhance local audio.>"
"<PROCESSING. . .>"
Catching up to the rest of the party in the ticket line, Yelana tapped Zaria on the arm.
"See anything? . . Shit. By the kiosk - Black hood, energy sword; I can't make out the species from this angle. <Enhance visual and identify.>"

"Yeah, no - We're not doing that. By the way, what's our cover? We need to find that device, but it could be almost anywhere, and there's no way we can search like half the train without raising suspicion."
Yelana turned.
"Oh, and Soren? We're not killing anyone - Not unless we have to. This is corporate espionage, so don't get trigger-happy. Got it?"

Soren indignantly glanced back at Yelena.

'Never said anything about killing. But we'll do whatever we need to.

Regarding covers and suspicion and the like, we should probably keep a distance from each other. We're merely three passengers. Should be easier to search the train that way.

Yelana Perception Check (DC 3): 6, 1, 3, 6 ((2+1 auto) 3 Success, 2 Failures)

As the gentlemen switches off his pad to read the newspaper besides him, Yelana notes a document bearing the letterhead of the Pluravvian Ministry of Revenue before the screen goes black.

Yelana is unable to get a positive identification from her current position in the line as the figure slouches further back into the shadows.

The heroes soon find themselves next in line.

Zaria stepped forward, smiling. "Greetings. We have three tickets reserved for us under the name Irgonstead, Leopold Irgonstead."

Zaria tapped her fingers on the kiosk desk, agitated and annoyed. "Well then, clearly there has been some sort of mistake. My friends and I were the intended recipients of those tickets. Could you tell me who took them and where they went?" Zaria doubted the attendant was fully to blame, but someone was up to mischief, and would be dealt with.

You didn’t answer the question. Check your records; who took Irgonstead’s tickets? Surely you’d want potential company faults thoroughly investigated.

Soren took in another icy breath, trying to calm his nerves. Only one way through this, really.

Of course I’m Irgonstead. Surely you recognize a man of my esteem. Now I demand a proper investigation into this matter before I allow my guards to have their way with things.

That was correct. Your swiftness in addressing this matter will be noted.

Sorry for the delay! As mentioned elsewhere, I'm going to have some difficulties checking in all the time but I'll try my best!

The attendant prints three new tickets and hands them to Soren.

"Your train should be leaving relatively soon. As I said, I'll let the manager know about the mix-up. Once again I'm sorry about your trouble."

Would the party do anything else before boarding the train?

Zaria took in a deep breath. She wasn't particularly pleased with needing to take such a route to get on the train, but she was moving forward. She nodded to the attendant and stepped out of the line with the rest of the group.

"Well, shall we head to the train, then?"

Yelana took a chopstick out of her hair and began spinning it around her fingers.
"Sure. . . But do we have any idea what our plan is? I've got a few thoughts, but nothing concrete - And besides, you're the leader here."

OoC:

Spoiler

The bold text comprises three separate checks: A Perception check to identify the individual in the cloak, a Perception check to see what is happening in the station/how people are visibly reacting to Soren's behaviour (and to the party in general), and an Insight check to determine how people are feeling about the party and their behaviour.

"We are not even on the train yet.  We have no idea what we are stepping into." Zaria responded, speaking in a hushed tone. "All we do know is that someone knows that we were going to be on the Boreal Express, and took our tickets as a means of either hindering us, or ensuring we did not get on the train. I want to first observe our battlefield before we make any moves. The individuals who stole our tickets are possibly on the train. I would prefer to get the jump on them."

Stepping away from the receptionist, Soren shook himself out.

I hated that, he said flatly.

We need to find these impersonators and get them out of the picture. They'll just complicate everything. That's our second priority after the main objective.

"Good, I am glad I was not the only one uncomfortable." Zaria comments. "I imagine if we have an attempt at sabotage, we may not be the only ones aware of the device."

MM Note: Insight would cover the reactions of the crowd both non-verbal and verbal, no need for a perception check.

Yelana Perception Check (DC 3): (4, 5, 6, 4, +1) 5 Successes

Now out of line Yelana moves toward the cloaked figure once more trying to identify the individual. She catches a glance of green skin and positively identifies an O'Kor'uk, the individual wears black blast armor and as he dashes off she catches sight of two other cloaked figures that join him, before the trio get lost in the crowded station.

Yelana Insight Check (DC 1): (2, 1, 4) 1 Success

The crowd seems to pay no attention at all to the heroes' antics.

The call for last boarding is given and the trio rush to present their tickets to the Daraki security guard at the gate. Boarding the train they are led to the economy seating car and find their seats across from a number of interesting individuals. An O'Kor'uk pushes a snack cart down the aisle as the rest of the passengers find their seats.
