No sooner had the group of new recruits at Fort Stockton received their gray trainee uniforms than their drill sergeant received word that a field gun had broken its limber. The gun was being transported along the coast and had fallen into some mud when its carriage broke. The recruits headed out to begin what turned out to be five hours of hard work necessary to free the gun.

Beautiful and varied landscape. The rabbit looks funny. It would be good if the soldiers also fell the special tree.

Nice baseplate (as usual) especially the muddy part and I envy that non firing cannon. I really disliked them when younger but the more I grow older, the more I come to appreciate it.

Is it just me or those white shakos beg to be painted? :pir_tong2:
