Regarding set 60347, The Grocery Store;

In the UK the ASDA chain of supermarkets are getting a version of this set with different stickers to make this set an ASDA brand store. ASDA is owned by Wal-Mart, so I wonder if the US will get a Wal-Mart version?

It's a new door as well. It doesn't have a stud on the inside and is shorter than regular building doors.

Interesting. I would have made it the same height as that be more useful, but whatever. Very interesting. Always a fan of new windows and doors.

No it isn't. Maple was talking about what is actually a new whole cupboard type piece that uses a brand new three-wide door.

The hair salon uses the three wide double doors that were introduced in 2022.

I hope LEGO does indeed release a three-wide frame for the three-wide door, as that could be useful.

Yeah. I thought they were the same double door piece, but a new 1x3 frame.

So the current 2022 double doors are 1x3x6 and the new one used for the fridge is a 1x3x5.

One purple pick I see on the Lego site is selling for $1.92 but quite a number of people here locally are selling them for $1.5 only and they have a lot of it, which means they shouldn't be taken from their box set. How could they get these figures cheaper than the Lego site? I really want to get a lot of purple pigs for my city farm!

Do you mean pink?

They have been available in BAM stations and also in that free VIP funky pack, so it's easy to see how people have lots of them at low cost.

Build A Minifigure - they have a section in official Lego stores to create mini figures from parts, like pick a brick but you get 3 figures consisting of a hairpiece/hat, head, torso, legs and an accessory (sometimes this can be an animal).

Recently I am getting a lot of great offers for retired Lego City sets which are new and sealed. For example, approx. $12 for 60179 (Retired), approx. $6 for 40578 (not retired but price is really low). Does it imply that Lego City is a poor investment?

Most city buyers are town/ city builders and not investors. This thread is for 2022 city, so perhaps pose your question in the more general area.  

That being said, if you’re buying Lego for an investment, then you need to look at the larger sets, creator expert (Icons) sets, the Star Wars UCS series etc, and be prepared for a fair few years wait for real returns.  Popular limited runs have often done well.  Stranger things upside down, if still sealed, has done particularly well, but I expect that bubble to burst soonish after the release of the final season.

I am NOT a Lego investor but I am a fans of City theme. I usually like to buy a few more copies of my favorite City sets when the price is right in hope of reselling them and earning a little bit to reduce the cost of my hobby. If City set is a poor investment then I will stop getting more in the future.

Can anyone comment if 60347 (Grocery Store) is a really special, exclusive or retiring set because I have been watching prices of different City sets from time to time but I have never seen this set sold for deal anywhere, many sets I am interested in (and probably others are too) have dropped in its price in the market drastically e.g. barn and farm, farmers market van etc.

This is a set I cannot miss but I am always patient waiting for the best deal.

According to Brickset the set will retire 31 of December this year. I do not know how the Lego marked is in the Arctic, if it is better to wait for the store to sell them out at a discount or buy it while there is still some in stock

I find it strange that the farm sets will retire so soon except the animal battle-pack (60346: Barn & Farm Animals) of course that must be one of the best selling sets of the year

Just because it's not retiring doesn't mean there is any proof that it's selling. It's currently on sale in the USA for 20% off at Target, $56. There is also a $10 gift card when you spend $50, so in a way it's $46. It's currently 106th best selling set out of the 164 sets that have the special offer. That's not wel to me. The best selling sets at Target for the last month have been $10 sets and the botany sets.

Been a while since I bought a City magazine, but the little construction road roller build is simply genius, using those fairly new 3x3 round cylinders, just fits together really well.

Also the minifig torso is only used in 2 other sets (2019 downtown fire and 2022 4+ cement mixer), but the print is great, love the silver, and sharp print contrast 

Too bad my country only has 6 of those City magazines a year now (out of 12).

ASDA are selling it for £35 in the UK with the extra stickers to make it an ASDA store. I'm toying with buying a second one to combine with set 41729 next year

Prices of most other city sets released at the same time are reduced in the actual market except this grocery store.

Looks like there are a lot more City sets released in early 2023 compared to that of the 2022

There were 19 January 2022 sets, the four space sets were delayed until March.

This year there are 23, plus two Stuntz so it's about the same.
