Yes I have noticed instructions like that before as well, with the progress bar, don't really remember which set or sets though, lol.

Thanks man. These all were prior to my son. For the rest (ice-cream van, police car and fire sardine factory) I will wait for price dropping. The school is really cool and I would say, it seems to be better in real life than on pictures or yt videos. Same with the bus. So no disappointment :)

I made some tweaks to test how they will turn out. And frankly the bus looks much much better now. I removed a bunch of not important pieces and added black wheel arches. It only caused two 1x1 holes behind rear wheels. Moving one seat a bit to the front caused we can add one more seat. So we can have a driver, two kids and one wheelchair - however they are very squeezed. Also made a picture with different wheels. Adding doors or side stop sign will require more yellow bricks and redesign it.
As for the 1st floor of the school... Having no roof is not a huge issue. I would say that this empty space between window and the blackboard could easily be filled with continued white or white/black bricks, something like below.

Funny enough! That was actually my plan to do the exact same thing to that bus and the top floor of the school after I purchased the set - which will be my first purchase. Only I was also going to add a roof. I'd also add windows to the drivers side. Great Job!

Hidden Side bus was probably the best set to mod a custom school bus for many passengers.

However, next to City set buildings it would look enormous, and this is a kid's school so this City school bus still looks fine as-is to me. (but the 2020 Friends bus was even larger)

A seperate School bus set would be nice as well in the future.

I also wonder when there's a new regular Bus set, as the last regular bus was 2017, and there was a Tourist double-decker in 2018, and it's 2022 now, unless that rumoured $180 is a main square type of set, to replace 60271 (which is currently 30% off on LEGO.com)

I'm thinking a separate bus period - in the great vehicles subtheme. Heck, I wouldn't mind if they went above and beyond the call of duty on that one and made it a bendy bus.

A standalone bus set (like the Crane is just a vehicle by itself)  would be the best option for sure.

One thing Lego City hardly do is buses, we’ve only got one set focused on the buses in the last 5 years. I think it’s time we got buses for greater vehicles, or a public transit theme, anyone for double deckers, bendy buses?

Now when our wishes are fulfilled (new ambulance, bus (<- it is school version but it is the bus at the end)) there is only one vehicle I would like to have in the City. Modern post/delivery mail van with the parcel locker or even the post builing itself with new roads. That would be cool.

Edit: we are finishing the Bank and there is a new logo of the mail service at the front, right to the doors (there is a red box with some mail). So maybe it can be a preview of the post sets? Who knows. Anyway, here is the sticker:

I can agree there a public transit subtheme sounds wonderful.

Yeah! The last time we had a mail service subtheme was back in 2008. Since then, postal service based sets have been pretty lake with both of them being aircrafts. I can't wait for another mail van.
