The last time we had a mail service subtheme was back in 2008. Since then, postal service based sets have been pretty lake with both of them being aircrafts. I can't wait for another mail van. They’ve got road plates now so they could do a bus terminal or a tram station, A post office is due and would be a perfect addition to the road place system, Would love to see a garage/mechanics or a multi-storey car park as part of the road plate system Quote

I also suggest a service station of some sort with the new road plate system. Given that the 2020 service station is no longer avalible. Ouch that one left the shelves quick. Quote
fo4saken Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 The Bank set is dope! I can honestly say, I love everything in it. It feels complete, very detailed. New neon yellow color looks weird when the pieces are taken out from the bag but with the vehicles it looks very fresh and cool. Crooks van is the best imo but that helicopter... Wow! What a machine it is! Finally no wheels; the skids are fantastic. Overall shape is very modern and features... This is it! Best police heli imho. Ofc, as I said before, I skipped stickers on the sides. We had lots of fun building the Bank but you will see guys by yourselves. Love that set! One more thing, on the instruction page it seems Lego used different net (it looks like it was made with some grey rubber), cause irl we have standard generic black net :( Quote
Jiesdeo Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 4 hours ago, fo4saken said: Edit: we are finishing the Bank and there is a new logo of the mail service at the front, right to the doors (there is a red box with some mail). So maybe it can be a preview of the post sets? Who knows. Anyway, here is the sticker: Isn't that the logo for the newspaper? Since there are papers below it and a price of 0.99. Wow, 60326: Picnic in the Park is already sold out on Lego.com here in Sweden. Quote

I was more thinking of a Postage Stamp, which cost almost €1 nowadays, and the feather/quill is like a classic symbol for written letters, as LEGO sets had quill and ink before. Edit: But as been posted before, there's a "Citymail" logo on the Xtra sticker pack, and mail plane. 1 hour ago, fo4saken said: Crooks van is the best imo but that helicopter... Wow! Helicopter does look really good even while I'm not a huge fan of prefab cockpit, this new design does look fresh, and it doesn't use a prefab rear section. 1 hour ago, Jiesdeo said: Wow, 60326: Picnic in the Park is already sold out on Lego.com here in Sweden. Yeah it's sold out in Europe Lego.com as a whole, but it's a fantastic value €15 set and with the polybag promotion is a good contender for sure. Edited January 1, 2022 by TeriXeri Quote

The other feather logo seems something global, of course could be newspaper as well, but feather/quill seems more like something handwritten like a Letter. Edited January 1, 2022 by TeriXeri Quote

I agree, and with the Yellow bicycle being made again, could even have one included in a mail related set again, last time was 1998, and even in 2022, normal letter delivery still happens with bicycle in my country. Along with a mail van of course. None of the postal workers have bikes in my state. I live in a cul-de-sac in a suburban neighborhood so weve got mail cars. The postal cars have the drivers side on the right side for easier access to mail boxes. So if the post office had a mail car instead of a van, I wouldn't mind that either. It can also be a post stamp. I got it wrong and I admit it, was just fooled by two letters in that red box below. However if I wasn't wrong, it really could be a new mail service logo. Yes, there was a plane but so what? 2020's catalog had 3 different police logo sets on 3 next pages. Lol. Quote

What I want to say: if we will have anything post service related in near future, it doesn't mean, it will have 2020's Mail Plane logo, as Lego used to change lots of things in subthemes (like police logo, or even that yellow elements throught police, fire vehicles while they are neon at present time). Maple Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 I think we will get a Mail theme sometimes soon. The new road plates are opening up new things like a school. I'm very hopeful for a new train station and post office. Quote
TeriXeri Posted January 1, 2022 Posted January 1, 2022 (edited) That beach is quite nice, and more dual moulded legs/swim outfits in other colors are good, I'd probably modify the road to be behind the building, and then either double the beach length or width. I know it can be a walking/cycling path though (I've been to Santa Monica beach which has a famous cycling lane on the beach) Building could also be easily modified to have some small bar/kitchen in it instead, like set 31083: Cruising Adventures had in an alternate build with a similar size building : Beach certainly is a LEGO subject that remains collectible frequently over the years across themes. LCP Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) 31083, 60328 products would be very suitable together. However, it will be a little difficult to decorate because of the road plate. Edited January 2, 2022 by LCP Quote

Most probably think the mailman is the Amazon driver. With that said, I go to the post office multiple times a week, so I would love one. In fact, my city already has mailboxes throughout it waiting for someone to pick the mail up. But I’m not LEGO City’s target audience. Quote

But the road plate can be moved, since the beach is 2 seperate 8x16 plates, so you can either keep it as is, make a 8x32 beach or 16x16 beach, or a 24x16 corner shape. In this situation, new road plate is a lot more versatile compared to baseplate. Edited January 2, 2022 by TeriXeri Quote
TeriXeri Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Again, decent helicopter design, I like the loading ramp design a lot more then the simple closed off prefab piece (2020 Police magnet helicopter is still sold) , however the set overall only 215 pieces, at the same price of those previous 300+ piece sets is a bit disappointing, could've at least come with a 3rd minifig as a patient imo. (60179: Ambulance Helicopter had 3 figs without a truck) Also hopefully in the future LEGO will use more sliding side doors. 60166: Heavy-Duty Rescue Helicopter had a side door, and brick built cockpit, but also was 8+ wide 2021 Fire helicopter had a small rear door + stretcher included as well. As for the Truck, the cargo trailer looks a bit simple and specialized, technic holes don't make it look that good but I can understand they choice for the long technic brick to reduce parts needed + strength, to keep the heli wheels locked to the side at 8 wide, and keeping set price down, but I do like trailers made out of plates better as they are useful for other cargo : Example of more generic recent trailers : or So far, LEGO has made at least 1 or more articulated cargo truck a year since 2017 so wonder how popular they are. The 2020 Boat and 2021 Jet trailers were also more simplified/specialized just for that boat/jet it carried. But then again, can't forget 60305: Car Transporter also still exists. And they don't have that atrocious bile yellow color. (P.S. I don't care if that yellow is close to a color on real emergency vehicles. It's visual vomit.) Quote
