100% agreed. No, he didn’t offend at all - I’m just sentiive when someone mentions “disabled person”.

I apologize for being overreactive, folks!

Don’t think you were overreacting - think it’s fair to say that in lots of places (U.K. for sure) we are playing ‘catch up’ with moving the language away from ‘disabled people’

Ah, the difference between the US and Europe.

In Europe, most schools don’t have dedicated buses, but utilise regular buses.  Disabled students would be the only one to get a dedicated service, and most of these are ‘minibus’ sized, and the main wheelchair exit is at the rear.

It's not like all of the USA uses that bus. Most of the school buses around me have a front engine part to them still. I don't know if they have a chair lift. There are still small buses for chair lifts too.

I wish school buses were more like regular buses. The chair lift has been removed and now it's a ramp that flips out. So nice.

Yeah! In my area, most school buses are dog nosed. Especially the ones in the state of Alexandria, Arlington, Charles County and Prince George's County. Most flat nosed school buses are seen in Calvert County,, Fairfax County (like the one I posted) and Montgomery County. District of Columbia has special cutaway school buses.

YES RIGHT!!!! I mean, it would make being taken to school a lot easier. Back in high school, I never took the school bus. I always took the transit bus as it was much more peaceful.

Not only that, but the chair lift is silly. What if the person is using a walker or a cane? With the newer flip ramp thing it's much easier for everyone. It allows more 'flat' seats in the front. The whole layout is a lot better.

Which now get's me thinking. We had a seeing eye dog, that needs to be in more sets LEGO, what about a new walker piece?

Now that would be something I'd pay for. I know we could use the wands from Harry Potter for this one, but....what about a guiding stick for the blind minifigs?

I figure they would just do a recolor of the HP wands, same with a cane. But why not?! LEGO loves making new pieces to use in one or two City sets... looking at you again guide dog harness.

I do think that harness will show up again - it was already supposed to be in the City set for the police dog

Yeah! The HP wands are what I use. Not really a fan of HP sets, but a lot of them (like the Hogwarts School and the Hogwarts Express) make great part packs for town builders like myself.

Try “guide dog” instead of “seeing eye dog”. Seeing eye dog is a pretty wordy one.:oh3:

A walker? What is that? You mean a guiding stick/cane for blind people?

I am a deaf-blind man with a guide dog and guiding stick/cane. :oh3:

I think there is a guiding stick in Freinds set?

Oh you mean that black harness, instead of lime green, right?

Aye, but it’s just a plain white bar / lightsaber blade piece … not a specific mould

I assume it’s an aluminium walking frame

I don't know why I said seeing eye dog. I just saw a guide dog yesterday too.

A walker is like a four legged cane, normally for the elderly or people just out of the hospital. There are two legs on both your left and right side, then a cross beam or bar in the front. Sometimes the legs of the walker have wheels.

Oh, I have an idea! I think Lego designers should include 2x3 tile with Braille (6 dots) printed on it for future City sets! Like a visually impaired student learns how to read Braille at school or a 1x2 tile with Braille on it for a room number in building that you usually see (I’m not sure about Europe tho…?).

Gotcha, I was very confused when you said a walker, I did assume you were talkinga about guiding stick by mistake but I got you now.

C'mon Lego! Send us pics of the stuff already! I wanna see the basket of goodies for summer 2022, especially the train station and grocery store.

Come on, Lego! I want to see images of farm animals!

I think City should have some robots, like Sox the robot cat from Buzz Lightyear (new) sets.

There was a police robot team polybag. I would like more robots though. We have drones so that's a step in the right direction.

I don’t remember which sets having drones?

The 2019 fire station, a police drone chase set and the 2020 police station all had drones.

Oh! I must have overlooked the 2020 sets then. Ok, drones are counted then but i agree with you it’s a step forward.

I’m so curious about Missions (Mars, Water Police and Wildlife Rescue)…. I wish there is any description on them.

Personally, I’m most interested in Wildlife Rescue one.
