Tacitus Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...cn=473&d=70It's not available to anywhere ( I know of) what is it? It is what the title says it is. It's a mechanical bank. Essentially, it is furniture, and it will probably go on sale 6 months after release. Quote
KimT Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Looks like it's a piggy bank for saving Your money. This time is done in the Castle theme. There is a cache link, but it doesn't seem like it's up and running yet. The classic piggy bank looks like this: KimT Quote
Athos Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 It looks like the sides of it are cardboard. Steve Quote
Shoc Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) This looks very nice, usually I don't buy Lego accessory stuff, but I hope this comes out soon, I would buy it. It looks like the sides of it are cardboard.Steve Yes, they do seem to be that way... But, it is a cheap way to get (part of) a dragon, if you want another one (like I) or don't have one anyway. :skull: Edited June 15, 2008 by Shoc Quote
Athos Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 But, it is a cheap way to get a dragon, I don't think its a full dragon. It looks like just the head, attached to some sort of technic piece. It may be cheaper to just buy the dragon off bricklink. Steve Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 It looks like a very impressive bank to me, I wonder how they've managed to get the mouth to grab the coins. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 This actually appeals to me... though it's not something I'd be willing to pay much for. I wonder how the quality is? I agree with Athos that the box looks cardboard. Quote
Adam Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Yes, it's a bank. I guess you pull the dragon head and money will be accepted/shot out. It'll probabaly be way too expensive . Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I like this little coin bank. It does look cardboard, but still pretty neat. I may have to pick one of these up. I'm sure children would like something like this. Quote
Faramir Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Good find, I don't think any of us knew about this. Pretty much what other people have said, it'll be good with a full dragon, but I doubt we'd get that. I don't think it's cardboard, though-- how would those ramparts connect? I can't really get any sense of price from this though, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Faramir Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 If it was a full dragon, where would the coins go? Quote
Axel Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I dunno...it doesn't seem very good. My opinion is that there are small holes for teh technic pins to go in the cardboard areas. Quote
Siegfried Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I like mine better! Good find though. (For me it's available and $16.99 AUD) Quote
Cardinal Brick Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 £6.49 here in merry old England, I think at that price it might be worth a put as it looks rather intresting. Quote
Quarryman Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Pretty much what other people have said, it'll be good with a full dragon, but I doubt we'd get that. I don't think it's cardboard, though-- how would those ramparts connect? They are probably glued, though I would be happy to be proven wrong about this. Quote
iamded Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 You know, I saw something exactly like this in one of those ads in an old Marvel comic. You put the coin on a certain spot, and the dragon head (I noticed it doesn't even have the jaw), when the lever thing is turned, pops out and grabs the coin, then drags it into the box. I certainly didn't see this coming from TLC. ~Peace Quote
KimT Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 "Keep your coins safe with LEGO® Castle! This fun and authentic LEGO Castle coin bank is just the thing to keep your loose change safe. Spin the handle and a fierce dragon pops out to retrieve your coins and guard them until you need them! " KimT Quote
KimT Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 erm ok this could of gone to more dwarf sets ??? huh What do You mean? Please explain. KimT Quote
Pencoin Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 insted of making this piece of junk they could of made another dwarf set or improved existing sets Quote
KimT Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 insted of making this piece of junk they could of made another dwarf set or improved existing sets I agree that we need more dwarf sets. But I'd still buy this KimT Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Looking closer at the picture, it appears to me the dragon doesn't even have a neck, the head is just attached to a technic rod. Quote
