I understand you guys wanting to see the location before committing to the plan, so allow me to take you there. Thanks for your patience!

As the party makes a few suggestions regarding how they intend to proceed, another bus arrives, stopping before the curb and opening it's doors to the heroes. Stepping onto the crowded bus and finding seats, the party descends lower into the depths of Cosmopoli.

---

After waiting for their stop, the party signals the bus to stop and get off yet again. The layer of the city here is dark, with everything covered in a layer of grime and dirt. Neon lit signs in windows illuminate the seedy area, as sounds bounce and echo around them. Descending down a public elevator, the party quickly finds the Wings of Fury warehouse Sid described, capable of getting a good look at it from a safe distance.

51437295017_9a1f03eb19_o.jpg

The club warehouse is a distressed building made of stone and rusting iron perrched on top of an old, monolithic tower made of curious, pale tan stone with alien looking etching and markings:. The ancient tower stuck out against the cold metal and blinding neon, like it didn't belong in this modern metropolis. Despite the size of space around the lot, only a few speedercycles hover in the lot. A small group of thugs loiter around a rotting park bench listening to loud music and eating pizza out of a grease stained box, laughing and shouting over it. They are all armed. The building does appear to have a side entrance protected by a wooden fence topped with barbed wire. It's hard to see from most angles: the party would have to get closer to the building to identify any protection.

"Alrighty, I could go and ask those thugs over there if they have any refreshing alcoholic beverages, perhaps even make a few friends. You know, stealth and deception."

As Bers thinks to himself, it wouldn't hurt to gather a bit of a stash and those fleshbags look like they imbibe.

Yissam♥ looks around the corner at the thugs, sizing them up with a critical eye. They definitely weren't winning any Scintillating Streamer awards anytime soon. Pulling her head back, she gives Bers a pleased grin, and nods.

"It's dramatic! It's decisive! You sir have the Yissam♥ seal of approval. In fact-"

She reaches to her belt, unclipping the AV Rig and reprogramming it at lightning speed for a bass-heavy volume synthesizer. Activating it, she hands the sticker-plastered device over to Bers so that he can equip it.

"Here, just let this lil guy hover over your shoulder. If you need to give 'em a scare, it'll give you a liiiiiittle bit more punch, guaranteed!"

While approaching directly doesn’t seem exactly like the stealth Bers previously advocated, Merei prefers it, personally, and so doesn’t say anything to stop her friend. She does however attempt to stealthily peel around the side of the tower while they approach, both hoping to stay within range should he need support and to get a peek into the windows and doodads on the wall to the right.

Bers approaches the pack of thugs at the park bench, as длб - по фактам blares over the boombex audio installation, in order to look a bit more thuggish like the fleshbags infront of him Bers switches his armor plating to intimidation/combat mode before approaching.

"Greetings fles-friends... uhm.. how do you do, fellow thugs?"

As Bers approaches he quickly realizes he didn't really think this through and has no skillset smooth talking, after all he usually either intimidates or kills whatever problem stands in his way. So he tries to bluff himself into a conversation with the thugs, after all no actual sane non-criminal affiliated person would be so crazy, right?

ooc: Bers would like to make a check to see if he can deceive the thugs passing off as one of them and engage in further casual conversation, through a Deception roll I assume?

MM Note: Well, you could certain use deception here, as you are trying to deceive the thugs that you "fit in". I'll allow it to keep things moving along.

Bers Deception Proficiency Check (DC: 2): (2,4,5) Two Successes

The three gang members turn their attention to Bers, looking at each other somewhat confused, but intrigued by the adamite's arrival. The stand up to address him, their heavy metal music mixing with Bers' rap to create a cacophony of noise that is grating to the ears. He'd seemingly gotten the biker's attention.

"Wow, wow, wow. Cassidy, do we know this guy?" The elven woman responds with a shake of her head.

"I cannot say we have." Cassidy snorts failing to contain a chuckle. "Fellow thugs... I can't tell if you're in the wrong neighbourhood or have balls of steel... figuratively speaking. I mean-"

51452427246_eb1ae25301_o.jpg
"Enough talk about his junk!" The grizzled looking biker shouts. He stepped closer to Bers, sizing him up. He was tall enough to rival the adamite's height. "What brings you around these parts, fellow thug?" A sarcastic bite punctuates the biker's sentence as he glares Bers over, his left eye squinting.

Merei Stealth Proficiency Check (DC: 1): (1,4,4) Two Successes

Kirwin Stealth Proficiency Check (DC: 1): (4,5,6) Three Successes

Merei and Kirwin manage to successfully skirt around the thugs as they're preoccupied with Bers, able to comfortably stand within range should they need to move to Bers' defence.

The side of the warehouse is littered with crates and junk left haphazardly about. A container of curious yellow liquid is strapped to the wall, it's contents bubbling away. A set of stairs lead up to a rusting metal door, next to which appears to be an electric panel of some kind. It's fairly apparent that the door leads directly into the warehouse. Built into the wall is what appears to be a chute covered by metal doors. Where the chute leads isn't immediately apparent.

Merei Perception Proficiency Check (DC: 1,3): (1,3,5) One Success

Peering into the warehouse window, Merei can make out a blue speeder through the dusty windows, various tools and supplies left around and even on the hood of the vehicle. Squinting her eyes, however, Merei notices a shape behind the car: something large and grey. It's hard to make out what it is due to the griminess of the windows and the poor lighting in the warehouse.

Now that Bers is getting a good look at the thugs, he thinks to himself 'Well aren't these some funny looking meatsacks.' and has an urge to continue the conversation with another stupid line, for a brief moment he considers blurting out 'Got Beer?' and then putting his chain-greatsword through the tallest of the thugs. But as he is here on behalf of Heroica and has companions who are still, at least to a degree, relying on and trusting him his processors shift towards a different more diplomatic approach, as he tries to imitate the behaviour he has observed from his companions.

"Ha, I was sent by Sid and Mel actually, I... was their new muscle on a job recently and when I came to check up on them and drink a few cold ones found them attacked by an assailant. Perhaps a rival gang or some such, they asked me to check up on Carvrac and let him know of the attack on Sid, the poor bloody fleshbag lost his hand! Should get it replaced with a mechanical one if you ask me. Anyway, said the assailant was after some bike."

Bers realises this ruse can only go one of two ways but part of him is secretly hoping that way is the bad and bloody one. Still he delivers the lines cool and cold and it's mostly the truth anyway.

As Kirwin walks toward the electrical panel to attempt to bypass the door electrical panel, his curiosity is peeked while looking at the curious yellow liquid? They try to recall if they have seen anything like it before.

Merei nods to Kirwin, keeping her deep roiling voice low. "Exactly what I was going to suggest, Kirwin. You handle the door. Let me know if you need any help. We will need to be quick," she glances over at Bers loudly dropping Sal and Mel's names, "he is doing the right thing, warning them. But I don't know how they will take it." She points through the window. "You may after all have a chance to test your driving skills. That seems to be our speeder. Let me know when you have the door open." Merei tries the double doored hatch next to the light, seeing if it will open, and checking its contents if it does. "Be warned, as well. There is something larger and gray in there."

“Pst. Kirwin.” Merei looks up from where she is crouched on the floor, looking at the tunnel. “I am going to do something foolish now. Kirwin Technology Proficiency Check (DC: 2): (2,3,4,4,4) Three Successes

Prying the electric panel open and going straight into the wiring of the door, Kirwin manages to physically override the door's lock, a clicking noise signifying the disengaging of the lock.

Crawling through the vent, Merei finds her vision deterred by stretches of blackness, light from the vent ceiling shining through various grates along the roof of the vent, and subsequently the floor of the warehouse above. The floor of the vent is greasy from engine oils and cleaning chemicals, creating a heady smell probably not wise to linger in. Merei can hear a number of sounds from above. The most prominent is a slobbering, snapping sound of something large above her. The shadow of the large shape blocks light from the vents above her. More distant sounding, Merei can make out the sounds of an argument taking place between two people, seemingly beyond the room above her.

"Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous! You walk into my warehouse and make demands of me, child? I refuse to hand over the car." A gruff, guttural voice echoes out. The sound of heavy metal follows, as if someone is pacing with a heavy prosthetic leg. An agitated sigh follows from a second person, their voice sounding masculine, but lithe, almost boyish.

"Mr. Carvrac- you don't mind that I refer to you as mister? Mr. Carvrac, my employer has been quite clear about the terms they are offering you. Either you take the proposed amount of credits for the car and it's contents, or I take the speeder and it's contents by force. Are you going to agree to these conditions, or are we going to have a problem?" The pacing stops.

"If your employer wants that briefcase so bad, they can wait in line for the bidding to begin just like everyone else. Didn't your employer ever hear of the phrase "finder's keepers?", eh? What do I look like, a pencil pusher you can make threats to, eh?" The boyish voice laughs.

"I don't make threats idly, Mr. Carvrac, and my employer didn't seem to either when they hired me for the job. One way or another, I am getting that speeder. What you have control over is whether or not you leave this conversation with a heavier purse... or in a body bag."The boyish voice turns cold, emphasizing their threat.

Merei comes to the end of the tunnel, finding a latch that leads upwards. Does she proceed up?

Bers says with a somewhat more agressive voice tone, throwing an obsenity in for good measure, as he is still trying to convince the thugs he is a goon himself. Realizing the potential oppertunity to fight a skilled fellow melee / blades user he gets excited and wants in, his impatience getting the better of him he tries to intimidate the thugs to let him inside.

"I don't care if your boss is in danger or if he can handle himself but if that $&#%@ is inside then I'm going in for Sid, I'll get some payback for my friend. Get out of my way fleshbags."

Another lie, it's not about Sid but it's the likeliest way Bers can think of to get inside, he must see the mettle this sewnbag is made of. It is after all what he was built for, the deepest urge in his creation. To fight strong opponents, to crush them and gain experience growing into a stronger combat machine himself. He was already in combat mode, but as he tries to intimidate the thugs his eyes glow a bright red and his voice is deep, mechanical and very agressive.

Around the corner, Yissam♥ waves her hands on the periphery of Bers' sightline, wincing and gesturing wildly for him to bring it down. Just a little. It seemed like Merei and Kirwin had their way in, but it didn't seem quite right to leave Bers all on his lonesome. Of course, if he manages to get in...she might have a new problem. Sneaking in was still very much an option, just not a very enticing one. Yissam♥ Stealth Proficiency Check (DC: 1): (2,3,4) One Success

Yissam♥ manages to skirt past the thugs as Bers' conversation with them escalates.

Taking a moment to investigate the wooden fence, Yissam♥ can see an impromptu parking lot through a slim gap in the fence. A few speedercycles levitate off the ground, but of note is a large, bulky space speeder designed similarly to a truck, with a large flat area behind the cab with a winch system connected to it.

Despite being unable to directly see the conversation taking place, Merei gets a feeling that if things continue the way they are, there could very well be violence between both parties, with the lithe, boyish voice sounding more likely to make the first move, sounding more calm and focused than the gruffer, aggressive tone of the other person.

The latch above her is not locked, and can be pushed open.

Kirwin can easily communicate with Merei through the vent, able to see her shadowed person, looking up, seemingly at a way out of the cramped space. With this knowledge, though, it is possible a conversation at this range could echo into the room above.

Merei shakes her head at Kirwin and mimes opening a door, ensuring he has found an entrance. She holds up a gloved hand and five fingers, and after five seconds puts down one finger… after five more seconds a second finger… and on until she’s got only one finger left up, and when she puts that one down she bursts through the hatch, running towards the voices she heard.

OoC: This should at least allow me to coordinate with Kirwin, hopefully. Don’t think I’d be able to realistically coordinate with Bers. Happy to wait and see results until after others post.

Kirwin was amazed that half of the group had already jumped into a possible fray immediately after arriving at the warehouse. Or maybe they weren't that amazed - the group had kind of been doing that the whole time. In fact, plenty of the explorers, adventurers and heroes he had watched and idolized on the many shows he watched over the years did the same thing. Those typically worked our really well also! Welp, they thought, to late for any planning out here, Kirwin definitely did not want anything to happen to the team that they personally could have helped resolve.

Kirwin saw that Yissam was on this side of the warehouse. "Yissam", Kirwin whispered, "the rest of them have already entered! We need to go in and help them out!"

Kirwin entered the warehouse quietly through the door.

"I suppose we do!"

Yissam♥'s indignant whispering was a little rushed. She'd been hoping to sabotage the truck somehow, but she can't seem to come up with a decent way around the fence. With a sigh, she follows Kirwin, Prism Gauntlet at the ready. Getting ambushed was not on today's agenda...

The group all enter into the warehouse at the same time, although from different entry points: Mirai pokes her head up from a grate in the floor, Bers enters through the front doors, and Yissam♥ and Kirwin both enter through the side door.

Merei lifting the grate up puts her a mere foot or two from a great hound the size of a horse, it's grey, shaggy fur covering a mass of muscle and girth. Long claws arm it's paws and a row of sharp, yellowing teeth line it's mouth. The beast seems occupied in a large shank of meat, it's dagger like teeth ripping into it with ease, like tearing apart a piece of paper. The creature turns to Merei.

"Garrrruuu."

The canine growls at Merei before turning back to it's large cut of meat, seemingly more interest in it. From where Merei is she can see a collar around it's neck, from which a name tag dangles. It reads "Bella".

The rest of the group notices a large, sporty looking blue speeder taking up most of the space in the warehouse as it levitates off the ground silently. Tools and mechanical supplies litter the ground and the hood of the speeder. From a raised platform where Kirwin and Yissam♥ stand, they notice a work bench with a computer and a grimy waste bin. The smell of oils and sweat linger in the air, with Merei getting a whiff of the sterile smelling canine shampoo from her current position.

Merei would like to look around the room, trying to find a number of separate things. First, she wants to determine where the voices are coming from (and especially if there is a window in that direction). Next, if anything significant has been removed from the speeder. Third, and most importantly, if there is any sign of a briefcase. She will poke her head out of the grate if she has to, but will do it slowly, calmly, letting the dog she is aware of it but means no harm.
