Hi,

So I have recently moved house, and whilst the overall house is bigger, the room designated as my "Man Cave" is smaller.
As such i have decided to sell my collection:

  • NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309)
  • Star Wars Slave 1 (75060)
  • Y-Wing Starfighter (75181)
  • Snowspeeder (75144)
  • TIE Fighter (75095)

I have the boxes for most, if not all of them.

My hope is to buy the Millennium Falcon (75192) and give any extra money to the missus for our new house.
My question is, should I try to sell them indivudually on eBay UK or try and sell the lot in one go.
Plus i know that most of the above are now unavailable, as such how much should i ask for the them?

Sorry for the nooby Lego questions, i've been a logn time Lego fan but have never taken it seriously to fully appreciate the value of them until now when i have been forced by circumstance (and marriage :P ) to sell them!

Cheers

Brodie

I would try individually if you can, there is a marketplace section on this forum you can access at 10 posts which you could ask advice from more experienced sellers. I would have a look on Bricklink to see what prices the sets are going for, I am not experiencing in selling LEGO, but using Bricklink as a guide, based on quality you described, around:

AU$400 for the slave 1

AU$200 for the snowspeeder

AU$300 for the TIE

AU$275 for the Y Wing

AU$125 for the Saturn V

Hope this helps

For UK prices probably about 60% of the prices listed above, the link should take you to the UK site with equivalent prices

You can also try https://www.brickeconomy.com for current values (both new and used). Not sure if you have FB marketplace in the UK but it is also another avenue for selling, just be prepared for individuals trying to low ball your requested selling price.

Do you prefer ease of sale, or maximum return? If ease, post all for sale together, wait for that one person who wants all your sets, and then sell.  If you want the the largest return, sell individually.
As far as price, do your own research. eBay and bricklink should give a good indicator of recent sales.

if you are in no hurry, I would check the average price of the Bricklink for used condition, then ask for a hundred dollars more and just wait, because the collector sets tend to only gain value in time, and it is unlikely that any of those models would see remakes anytime soon.

However, if you don't have the patience to wait for years (or if she doesn't), you probably should set your price against the UK sellers in Bricklink. This is easy as Bricklink has an option to find sellers by country as well. Remember that the potential EU buyers must nowadays pay the VAT (21%?).

I just leave my 2 cents here

I was trying to get into bricklink a while ago but I found it really complicated. I was trying to convince some sellers I meet to take some of my stuff for a pretty small price (Zeb and Ahsoka from Rebels for 10 bucks instead of 100 which is found sometimes) but they didn't want to take more stuff as they were also trying to get rid of things and were frustrated with how complicated it was to sell.

I'm happy many people here seem to manage but after nothing worked for me so far I already gave a large portion of my stuff to young kids. Which is a bit of a shame because some of it has collector status :pir-laugh:

So if anyone has an easy idea how to get contacts - even people who resell - I live in Germany and don't care too much about money but rather feel sorry if the Lego goes just to some kids who prefer phones anyway.
