I can just say with experience that for consumer products, focus groups and research only get you so far. 7 hours ago, williejm said: the CMF line continues to deliver different things, for different people No question personal preference means that any individual cmf is going to be hit or miss for each individual consumer. That said I bet if a few creative folks came up with a list minifigures that could be included with a foal and polled people on their preference a plaid shirted girl with a skater hat wouldn't have cracked the top 50 choices. Vorkosigan Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 I actually think this series is better than average for me. It still has what I usually like, some good historical/fantasy and sci-fi figures. But I also like a couple types I usually don't bother with. Animal costumes don't do a lot for me in general, but my father is really into raccoons and they are popular throughout my family. So I plan to get several of those. I also don't care much for sports figures but I think the racing wheelchair is quite interesting, so for once I'll be buying a sports figure as well. Overall a good variety. Quote

Before now, LEGO has introduced minifigures with disabilities exclusively in the City sets over the past 5 years (the wheelchair was released in 2016, time flies too fast!). Right, I remember the minifigure in wheelchair is the first one to be introduced in Lego as a minifigure with disabilities years ago. Now we have deaf/hear-of-earring and blind minifigures introduced in City sets. As a deaf-blind fan here, I think it’s a great move! But I was hoping that a blind minifigure with a Recolored guid dog would show up in CMF tho. Quote

We are still yet to see a minifigure that has both hearing and sight disabilities. Quote

That said, I think it would also fall foal, sorry ‘foul’, of the same arguments others are making on this thread about ‘city type’ figures. Quote
sunhuntin Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 A different photo of the checklist is in the usual spot. Nice to get a better look! Quote
Robert8 Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 Soemone got the Birdwatcher and the Moon Warrior Birdwatcher is really plain But Moon Warrior looks really good IMO Quote
ToaIruini Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 All of these figures look more detailed than I initially thought It’s odd for the birdwatcher to have an unprinted torso yet also have detail on the legs and arms. I like the figure overall. Moon warrior looks much better in person. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) These new pictures make most of the figures grow on me (bar the foal girl). The moon warrior, in particular, has some interesting color combinations. The print on the birdwatcher's torso is a bit odd, and reminiscent of the more simplistic designs of the 90s, so it looks oddly out of place. Edited November 18, 2021 by BrickHat Quote
Robert8 Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 Yeah, I don't get that torso print It's like a T-shirt with pockets Also, the Robot's face is pretty cool! Quote

Printing on the arms, sides of the legs, front of the legs and toes, and everywhere on the front of the hips. Somehow I hadn't noticed that before. Quote

cosmic Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) Some thoughts: The Moon Warriors Face is very scrunched up. Same issue as Wildstyle in the first Lego Movie. Her mouth and eyes meet at an awkward point in her face. Think her eyebrows and eyes could have been raised higher. Printing looks worryingly cheap on the birdwatcher, it’s smudgy and low value and I hope its just this one and not indicative of the standard for the figure to come. Definitely not worth $5 they should reimburse everyone who opens her packet 2 dollars bc that fig is not worth it. They raise the price better raise the value too Robot is cuter than expected love that guy. His feet print is very neat. Edited November 18, 2021 by cosmic Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) Just saw the robot's leaflet pictures, great all around printing so I definitely want multiple! Moon warrior also looks better in the brick than the renders did And at least 5 of the figures in the series have side leg printing, which is pretty impressive Edited November 18, 2021 by Umbra-Manis Quote
Robert8 Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) With the new pics, I'd rank the minifgures as follows 1. Moon Warrior 2. Bard 3 Robot 4. Paralympic racer 5. Forest Spirit 6. Racoon Girl 7. Birdwatcher 8. Ice Skate Dude 9. Snow Warrior 10. Chilli Costume 11. Alien 12. Foal with girl Edited December 15, 2021 by Robert8 Quote
Borex Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 With the better pics the Moon Warrior does look better. She is more an 80’s cartoon heroin. Not really useful maybe, but nice to look at. However i think she would be cooler if she had elf ears like some of you already suggested earlier. Quote
Robert8 Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 I feel like Sailor Moon might have been an inspiration there The Sailor Moon villains look wacky like that Quote
Flaming Bricks Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 (edited) I'm sorry to anyone that likes Series 22, but I think it's one of Legos worst CMF Non-Licenced series. I like the new Toucan piece, but besides that I can't say I'm getting any of these day one. I'm looking forward to The Muppets series next spring! Kermit The Frog is just amazing! P.S. I feel stupid, that's a Yoda emoji "Do or Do Not, There is No Try"- Yoda Edited November 18, 2021 by Flaming Bricks Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Thank you all very much for the information! The bard, the (woman with) toucan and the girl with foal are top! The bard is the perfect addition to every medieval layout, the toucan is amazing for displaying the City Jungle Mission sets and the foal goes with every sort of farm related set and esp. with the 60327 Horse Transporter! Plus the snow warrior, the chilli suit, the racoon suit and the olympic wheelchair driver are nice, too. The rest is imo lame. Quote
1Panda Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Am I the only one who thinks the husky has blue eyes in the new better picture? Also the gray color looks lighter but it could just be the lighting. Quote

For what it’s worth I think it’s still the same grey, but the eyes do look different from normal. Paws crossed. (I have a blue eyed Siberian husky cross) Quote
lifeinplastic Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 For me, the primary purpose of CMF series should always be the opportunity to provide unique moulds for new items and commonplace objects that perhaps wouldn't be integral to a regular building set. I therefore always welcome new moulds, even if the figures themselves do not stand out. The toucan and the lute make these two figures 'must buy' for me. Quote
