New mask piece and regular legs if my eyes dont deceive me    e.e

I found the original image. The Raccoon's mask looks too remarkably similar to be a new mold from the series 19 Fox mask. I will say though the only difference between the two I can tell is the distance between the ears if I am not being deceived (LEGO won't make a whole new mold to move the ears a few milimetres apart). Regular dual-molded legs: medium stone grey upper part and black lower part.

I think it's the quality and angle of the photo, coupled with there being printing in the ears this time, that makes the piece deceptively look different.

It's exactly what I expected from the description, and not one I'm interested in personally.

It’s weird. They look so similar, but indeed something is off with the ears, but also the cut-out for the face seems a different shape. It would be nonsense to make a mould that would be almost identical to the fox, instead of using the fox one.
Also, there is no telling if we’ll get a new tail piece from this angle. I do hope so.

Same here! I’m still lowering my hope tho.

The ears is what makes me think its a new mold. They look different but then again the quality of the picture doesnt help

A larger version of the picture has leaked, which shows the ears on the raccoon mask to have black trim (this is not clear from the original image, which made the ears look like a new mould). It is definitely a reuse of the fox mask mould.

It wouldn't be the first time that TLG releases different molds with minimal differences. It happened with the baby head and also the clam piece

That been said, it seems this is indeed a reprint of the fox mask, which is lame IMO, considering they already do that in BAM, polybags and even some City sets.

Given that there is only 1 regular CMF per year now, I'd expect something more special. A least a racoon mold included with the minifigure

Whilst the Raccoon is my favourite animal, I completely agree with this. We got the raccoon as a Friends animal this year but not in City.

In BAM, we have the series 19 care bear recoloured into a normal teddy bear. I’ve seen dual molded legs in in BAM too before so this could have easily been done.

I wish they'd started that a long time ago. I think the only one that came close was the Panda guy with a Panda teddy bear? And the Elephant girl with a mouse, which was a cute reference to the trope. Alas, it doesn't seem like they'll ever make it a thing of including the animal with the costume.

Ladybird Lady with a Ladybird. Series 21 introduced the Ladybird piece and at least the Monkie Kid theme has reused possibly even other themes.

Wait, are you talking about ladybug, not ladybird?

Some thing, different English speaking continent ;)

OH! I was very confused thinking it was probably just a typo or something. Well, I learned a new thing today. :)

Ok, so clearly I forgot some examples, but for the most part they still have not created new moulded animals to pair with their costumes counterparts.

I was so confused as well when I moved to Australia. Why would it be called a Ladybird when it's a bug? And why are all squashes called pumpkins? But I digress. Not that English makes sense a lot of the time, though...

I mean, technically a bug and a beetle are different things, but yeah ;)

I think we can conclude the costume figures are popular enough on their own not to *need* an accompanying animal, since they are indeed very rare.

You made a good point!

Does the sword in that new image look like it was drawn with a colored pencil to anyone else?

So, now that the white bearded head and snow hat are showing up as part of the Chinese new year sets, I think I was right to say the sword on that leaked image supposedly of the snow warrior was fake news.

Wdym?

I don't think that's the same minifigure we saw

I now can’t remember the face - but the similarities of what we saw with that figure in the ice festival set are odd.
