"Want me to take a look at for anything interesting out here?" Aysu tapped her far-sight goggles.

"Go ahead, no need to wait on my permission."

Aysu stood up, careful to not be too noticeable to patrols (Pink hair on snow could show up...) She looked across the flats, hoping to spot a clue.

Aysu Perception Proficiency Check (DC 3) - (1,5,6,+1) 3 Successes

As Aysu scans the Flats, she notes a lack of any large mounds or structures that could conceal a drake's corpse in either the Central Hub or the Western Fields. The caverns of the South East Fields and the hilled topography of the North East Fields, make it difficult to see far in either of those regions.

While waiting for Aysu to report her findings, Decker scans the skyline and the horizon, looking for any sign of patrol drones or any other surveillance equipment roaming above them.

"Sigrun, these drones, do they getcha by sight or sound, or what? They known to be hostile, or do they just throw the alarm and send in some Kristal goons to rough us up?"

Decker Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (6,3,1) 1 Success

Decker does’t spot any drones in the Western Field, where the party is currently on the edge of. Given the likely size of the drones, it is difficult to tell whether they are at the other locations.

“Most are outfitted with thermal cameras. Light weaponry, enough to keep you pinned down while the rest of a patrol is notified.”

How many are in a patrol?

"Okay, the southeast and northeast fields are harder to figure out. But the others can't have the carcass. Anyone want to choose the first place to try?"

I say whatever is closer...

"I think northeast isn't a bad idea... Although..." Decker thinks for a moment. "Thermal imaging in a cold tundra means any of us are gonna stand out like a sore thumb against this snow, yeah? Except... Polaris, is there any way you can hide inside M.I.L.E.S to hide ya, or maybe send them out on their own, to check out one of the fields? They shouldn't really HAVE a heat signature, right?"

I am aware this is cheating and expect to be struck down but you can't blame a man for trying.

Does it look like I can hide in it? Right now it is a glorified walking chair. As for a remote control, it is not really set up for such function. But if I had the right equipment and set up maybe?!?

/// I do produce heat it is a by product of my motorized systems. I do have some thermal shielding but it might be enough... To bad we are not back in the a=ether space there I / we could alter my form and possibly give Polaris better cover. Now that is an idea better shielding for Polaris...

Ok!?!  Do you want me to try and rig up a remote control system for MILES

"Do you want to?  Personally I have no feelings one way or another.  It does occur to me however that if the drones are using thermal cameras we could easily use the heat from the geothermal vents to mask our presence."

The heroes head for the North East Field, with Enson plotting a strict route that kept the party close to as many geothermal vents as possible.

Enson Survival Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (2,3,4,1) 1 Success = +1 dice to group Stealth Proficiency Checks

As the heroes pass by the outskirts of the field, a solitary security drone flies by sweeping the perimeter.

Group Stealth Proficiency Check vs. Drone Perception Check

Enson - (5,2,3,5) 2 Successes
Aysu - (6,2,3,3) 1 Success
Polaris - (1,3,1,6) 1 Success
Decker - (1,3,6,6) 2 Successes
Ronin - (3,3,5,6,3,+1) 3 Successes

Drone - (3,6,1,3) 1 Success

With the majority of the group ducking away, the robot continues on, passing them by. Combing through the field, the stench of a rotting flesh soon begins to permeate the air. Over a few hills, the group come upon the massive corpse of the rime drake nestled between a few geothermal units.

"That might cause a methane explosion, considering how long it has been there."  He stroked his chin.  "Look," he finally said, "can anyone think of a way of disposing of this thing that isn't burning it?  I can not see any way that would not attract attention to us."

Not if we poke a couple of holes in it, mostly in the gut area. But you probably want to bury it in the ground, the only problem I see with it besides the size is the fact that the ground is probably frozen solid.

Maybe, MILES could get some images of the corpse, and show Softpaw then he could get the Kristal company to bury the corpse like they should of in the first place. MILES, star getting the images of the corpse, and while we are at try to get some DNA samples of the corpse. Who knows it could be handy for us later on.

/// Processing request...

I wonder if you guys want try and get some material off this corpse too just like the Gator (from earlier).

Decker tightens the straps of his mask, trying to seal out as much new air as possible. Drake carcass. Eurgh!

"And the vents probably broadcasted this thing's scent to the entire damn planet. No wonder why everything has been feasting away. Well, I'd rather dispose of it than kill it." Decker thinks for a moment. "Probably too big to tie to the sled and drag off, ain't it. Uh, can we... Well, do we object to the idea of blowing it up in principle, or just blowing it up and getting caught? If we could find some way to make a fuse, give ourselves some time ta scamper outta here, before the big bang?"

"The thing is, we don't have any fuses, and rope burns too slowly.  Look, I'm going to see if I can get some samples, If anyone wants to help that would be appreciated."

Miles begins to process images of the sight as Polaris and Enson move toward the corpse to collect samples.

MM Note: Anyone else?

"Kristal Ice would probably enough on their hands to deal with such a large fire, but probably haven't due to its proximity to their equipment. I've got some Oc|Tan 90% premium fuel in the sled if we want to use that."

"That's good to know in case we wanna make fireworks, whether for this thing or jus' later on, y'know?"

Exercising a little bit of care, Decker moves to the corpse and tries to see if the serrated edge of his boomerang could sever a claw.

Enson stops briefly, wondering why there are no predators currently scavenging the corpse.

Enson will make a perception check to spot danger, and a survival check to figure out why there's nothing else here.

Enson Perception Proficiency Check (DC 1,3) - (6,5,6) 3 Successes

As Enson and the group prepare to move closer toward the corpse, a quick inspection of the surrounding area reveals a set of tracks with a tail dragging behind it, reminiscent of a smaller Polar Gator, the sound of harsh caws, indicate a few Frost Hawks are nearby, and mixing with the stench of the corpse is the heavy musk of a pair Glacier Mongers. A further investigation of the landscape reveals lots of footprints going back and forth to the body.

Enson Survival Proficiency Check (DC 1) - (5,1,4) 2 Successes

Enson is fairly certain the drake's corpse is currently being feasted upon, but the sheer size of the corpse is likely obscuring any scavengers directly from view.

MM Note: For scale perspective, the small gray "trees" are the same geothermal units posted in an earlier picture.
