Hhhaaammm I don't know would it be possible to upgrade one of my old weapons? Or should I just get something for MILES like an "energy cannon" or some fancy "hunting bow" for me, like I used as a child.

I am still trying to figure out the system for this The relevant stats break down like this: Strength - Kinetic Skill - Energy Smarts - Elemental So if you want a calibrated kinetic weapon you'd have to upgrade your strength to three. For @Yzalirk I'd recommend a deviation from my recommendation: As Ronin already has the Gator Tooth he could easily upgrade it into a calibrated elemental melee weapon without having to upgrade his attributes. For him I would recommend getting something with a different range for versatility.

He half expected it to jump back into his hand, but there it remained. Guess it only boomeranged when thrown. "It was a huge help out there. I'd be gator meat without it, so... Thanks, again. I mean it." Decker pondered his weapon choices for a moment. He wanted something with the same range as the boomerang, he found that rather nice. Something that wouldn't take loading, though. Hm... "Mervin! Is a short range energy weapon too much to ask for? Ya already paid us so well for that gator head, 'iunno where you get the budget for this stuff."

The Cricet bids the heroes a good evening as Sigrún paws over to the group. "Well then, seems like you got ol' Mervin right sorted and happy. The heroes settle in for the evening and over the next week enjoy the lively Cricet culture of Vindkoss. Over their stay they do find, that their scavenged poisons eventually lose their potency, but in the absence of the drake corpse, predators around the town become non-existent. Soon enough, racers from all over the galaxy begin arriving and setting up a temporary tent city swelling the local population five times over. Racers and race enthusiasts alike all crowd the little village and the streets are awash with tourists and pop up vendors taking advantage of the influx of credits and customers. At another week's end the formal Ivishin race gets underway and the heroes are invited to some of the best viewing stations and watch parties. The race itself is fraught with danger and drama, though thanks to the heroes none due to rogue monsters, and in a nail-biting finish, the Cricet race veteran, Einar Windwhiskers takes bronze, Chimeran new comer, Brock Gilderhoof takes silver, and gold is won by O'Kor'Uk racing sensation Lamorak Colvinson. After the race, the heroes eventually make their way back to Ebria Station finding their commissioned weapons having been delivered to their residences, better equipping them for their future heroics.
