DarthPineapple Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 (edited) Made for an contest at the Clone Army Builders Guild. I tried to make it as accurate as possible, including the guns and the positioning of the figs. I only own 1 Hoth Rebel, so I made a second one with, for example, the Hoth Leia torso. Gallery, in which you can find some reference pictures I used. Edited June 15, 2008 by kimt Deeplinked all pics Quote
Skipper 24 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 The folders arn't public yet please change them so I can see your midnette Quote
DarthPineapple Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 My bad, it's fixed now. I used the gallery link as a deeplink, sorry. Quote
commanderbly42 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Nice job on your midnette DP! Good use of SNOT especially. Quote
KimT Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Sorry couldn't wait for the gallery to become public, so I've deeplinked all pics. This way You'll get comments on details as well. I like it The use of SNOT really adds a great smothness to it. Also great use of minifig heads and nice design of weapons. You might consider replacing the 1x6 tiles with 2x2 and 1x2 tiles instead. The long ones have a tendency to make it look a little like a white painted wooden floor. Using different tiles will "ruff" it up a bit IMO. KimT Quote
The Rancor Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 I can just imagine those with the 'Hoth Base' set. x6 of those, 2 AT-ATs, a few snowtroopers and the Hoth Base set would make a good basic battle of Hoth. My favourite part of your midnette are the technic connectors used for the electrical pipes! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I really like the great gatling gun/cannon. Connecting the technic pins together works well too! I echo kimt in that the 1x 6 do look a little too ordered for a snow battlefield, smaller tiles ,some raised up or down would look much rougher. Well done  Quote
DarthPineapple Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 Thank you for all the comments! I agree with the 1x2 tiles, though I don't have many of those. I used a very big part of my white tiles to just make this. Quote

darkrebellion Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Awesome midnette DarthPineapple. I really like the SNOT look of it but you could add some rocks (small ones) and it will looks more realistic . Good job . Post #200 finally . Quote
DarthPineapple Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 Very good work, but too small. Why that? The rule was to make a midnette on a 16x16 base. Quote
Vaders_son Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Hey DarthPineapple! Your midnette is really cool It looks really accurate to the movie scene and the design of your gun-tower is really well done, too. As said, the idea of using Technic connectors for power cables is great and smaller tiles would make the scene look somewhat more natural indeed, but I like your scene anyways Benny Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Very nice, I like the use of the flame pieces. Quote
Matn Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I like it! And it's also pretty acurate. Keep up the nice work. Quote
