Posted September 13, 20213 yr I just got in the mail 5 copys of set 42118 the Monster Jam Grave Digger. Why do i need 5? So i can build an 18 wheeler with matching tires. Anyways. When putting the tires on the wheels i notice one side of the rubber tends to kinda poof out. And sometimes i have to switch it around some to get the poof on the right end. Or matching ends. Not sure if there is a right end for the poof. Is it meant to be this way? Seems kind of a pain to get all the wheels to look right with the poof all on the same side. Oh, and the parts that im talking about are 4297209 and 6283864
September 13, 20213 yr Well, the tyres are symmetrical, so are you sure you've placed the rubber flanges of the tyre correctly into the outer grooves in the rims? Another possibility is that the tyres got slightly squished in the box. Btw, these are internal LEGO codes, it's eaier to use 55976 and 56145 on Bricklink, Rebrickable, LDD... Well, every single one of the 20 wheel sets are exactly like this. Hard to think i put 20 of them together wrong.

I suggest adding a few pictures then, as right now I've no idea whether TLG made sudden changes to rims or tyres, something is not being done correctly (which being all 20 of them would, in fact, be strange) or something else. Here's what they should look like, both on modern and old rims:

September 13, 20213 yr How did this even happen? You assembled 18 tires wrong and wern't able to figure out the problem yourself, even though the side of the tire is obviously not in the correct place on the rim? I suggest using your own eyes and judgement trying to figure out a problem yourself next time instead of asking for help right away. @syclone you have my respects for your patience.

It is actually 20, not 18. If you are going to insult me at least get the facts right, please and thank you.

So your 18 wheeler will will have 20 wheels now, alright then. No suprise there I guess. All i was saying was to try to figure out problems by yourself instead of calling for help right away. This is a forum for adults, so that much should be expected. Not doing so can lead to an embarassing situation like this. All I did was to point that out, you made yourself look bad all on your own.
September 14, 20213 yr Hi. Rather than buying 5 sets to get a specific number of a part I suggest you get acquainted with "bricks & Pices", bricklink or one of the many other ways of sourcing parts... Take a closer look at these links for a start: https://www.lego.com/nb-no/service/replacementparts # This is a link for the Norwegian page, but it should be available in most languages. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/main.page _ED_

And the sets had some decent pieces i wanted. So, all in all i got the 18 wheels i needed plus 2 if i wanted, like, a spare on the truck/trailer. And a bunch of other parts i can use.

September 15, 20213 yr I used to do that too, now I have an overabundance of pullback motors, so I avoid those sets now. Those balloon tires are quite common as well and you will soon accumulate more than you will ever need. I do however still like to get parts from sets, so I look for sets with not so common useful parts. I prefer doing this rather than just buying parts, it may be cheaper to buy specific parts but it is much less economical. More importantly I just try to enjoy building and don't really think there is a wrong way to play with LEGO. Edited September 15, 20213 yr by Johnny1360
