Apparently there is going to be some 2023 news released by Promobricks this Friday or something. I don't know where they will take the series, but they definitely need to bring back the Oni IMO, perhaps as more of an ongoing "arc" villain. I just want more sinister Oni minifigures haha, and the battle pack is both expensive and elusive to get.

They deleted the story on their insta a couple mins later, my guess is that it was put up to early and for once I agree. I want to finish crystallised before we get any new info for next year. Let’s enjoy what we have and not be subject to another content drought

Decided to bite the bullet on the zane jet as my local store still hasnt't gotten any stock in and they are uncertain if they will even get ninjago now. I'll pick up the bike at a later date. I cannot recommend buying from Argos. Their website is a shody excuse for an online shopping site, with delivery prices being wrongly advertised, buttons just straight up not working, telling me its out of stock when 20 mins later I am able to place an order on a different device, and don't even get me started on CS. I'm probably just over exposed to the blessed customer service of lego but this one was awful. No way to contact them directly, and the livechat is run by a virtual assistant that on 3 occasions just straight up left the chat unless I told it I was trying to apply for the Argos card. Top it off with slow and expensive delivery, the fact you have to make an account to even purchase anything and I just cant recommend using Argos if you're in the UK. Lego has not made the right decision, and they also haven't responded to my emails as well.

I appreciate that I may be sounding like i'm whining like an entitled brat, however if the only way people in the UK are able to get some of these amazing sets is through a crappy company, I dont think its worth getting these sets until you can find a better deal, and I dont want other people to waste their time trying.

edit: anyone know why the words live-chat get auto corrected to [/quote]?

Is Ninjago Crystalized exclusive to Argos then?

I got my first Crystalized set from Sainsbury's. I think they own Argos, but they have sets on their supermarket shelves in the toy section

See this is what I’m trying to figure out, the sets appear to be exclusive online for Argos as my local toy shop is carrying all of the crystallised sets, despite Argos flaunting their “new and exclusive” banners everywhere. I think that’s the case, the sets are exclusive online to Argos. Sadly my package now seems to be AWOL on yodels system. I wish I could have just gotten them of Amazon. It’s just annoying.

As much potential as Legacy sets for later seasons could have (or heck, even other stuff from the early seasons, like the other dragons), I still feel like the Legacy subtheme might be over and done with... the EVO line seems to have been a pretty deliberate rethinking of what "introductory"/"classic" Ninjago concepts might look like. Even if we do get more classic-inspired Ninjago sets again someday (and I don't doubt it overall, Ninjago has gone through this cycle of classic/experimental more than once), I'm not sure whether they'd go back to the Legacy branding and its particularly show-inspired approach, or if they'd do something different (like how Legacy itself felt different from the Day of the Departed wave, despite feeling like a precursor of sorts to that "back to basics" approach).

You are thinking with your brain, I am thinking with my heart ( well not really but it's a metaphor), it seems like a logical conclusion for legacy to have been replaced by core/evo, but I would much rather it weren't. For several reasons.

1- I prefer villain sets, and location sets, in fact of all the Ninjago sets I own only 1/64 is an individual ninja vehicle ( though that number goes up to 7/64 if we include sets with a ninja vehicle and a villain build, polybags and the bounty), and so Cores focus is the least interesting part of the theme.

2- chance to get ones I missed, from the stone warrior wave Cole's Earth Driller was one I really wanted but I was 13 back then and didn't have the money to get everything I wanted so to get an updated better version is nice.

3- a more interesting minifigure selection, useful parts for both show characters that have not been made and variety of villians. Also more interesting and useful for 'custom' figures.

4- it would a shame if they made legacy S5/S6 Zane but none of the other ninja, not that that would be a surprise, they often leave groups incomplete

5- Ninjago city Gardens is legacy and another one in to than series would be awesome, they could even sneak in some show figure ( chicken suit guy wings for fugidove? Legacy Ultra-Voilet? News boy nelson and Antonia?

Though any of those things could happen without legacy.

Well no 2023 news I guess... But a legacy march of the Oni set would cool as well, I love the oni mask part and am glad to see it back for crystallized.

At least it's only online then, though my Amazon sale hopes might be dashed, though I shouldn't be supporting Jeff anyway he's no good.

A shame Argos is giving you such grief, I've had dealings with them alot before and things have tended to go shipshape and Bristol fashion, though I've never had a delivery from them, if I've ordered online it's been to pick up from a local Sainsbury's.

Yeah, I can definitely sympathize with some of those things. That said, Legacy was generally not the best about giving us villain sets either—and while the Core theme only had two location sets, the dojo is probably one of my favorite ninja bases yet.

And yeah, I don't think any of the things would be impossible to show up without the Legacy branding. Like, Ninjago City Gardens was only marginally related to the Legacy subtheme—I'm sure if there's another Ninjago City set it'll be branded as whatever's most convenient at the time. Similarly, I don't necessarily think reimaginings of past sets are going to go away entirely—just that the next time they roll around they're likely to have different branding and possibly a slightly different design approach.

Well I have bad news and good news. Decided to acquire the jet through other means, i managed to get some (pretty rare) free time and popped up to my local shop to go and pick it up, and I found something scary. Downright petrifying! The prices on some of the sets seemed wrong, and when I asked of these where the marked up prices due to inflation, the storeowner, Joe, told me that yes, these where marked up due to legos decision and inflation taking hold. Luckily the jet and the bike where the same price, along with the Cole crusier, however the crystal king set was £60, and the Kai raider, it was £90. £90! This is ridiculous. I hope thats not the fixed price for it going forward, and maybe its just an error on early pricing. But £90 is incredibly upsetting. On another note, I now cannot cancel my Argos order. They need to get their stuff in shape.

Yes the Raider gets increased from €85 to €100 in Euro as well, honestly ridiculous at that point. 18% increase.

Even for a ninjago set with 7 figs, that's very overpriced 624 pieces (and that's considering large/special pieces), the set doesn't have enough special functionality for me to be worth €100, even €85 was a lot.

I'll probably wait to see next year's location sets as those interest me more for Ninjago.

Had a look at the argos website, and it said early access on a ninjago crystalised banner so perhaps the exclusivity is not for long.

I noticed that the crystal king temple was £60, and the RRP is £70 and said to be going up so I ordered myself a copy , and I said I wouldn't buy anymore Lego till the big castle.... Oh well. After hearing the delivery woes,  I'm just gonna pick it up from Sainsbury's.

True but core's villians were just more snakes with the same part for a head as the wave before and none of Thier side builds were anything special, not even noticeably snake themed. But legacy had the overlord dragon, Chen's dojo, and the giant stone warrior sidebuild. But more would be better, city of stix and misfortunes keep would be nice remakes, maybe the next 'destiny's bounty' could be the villian version with Sato, no eyes ( maybe with a shoulder part that a parrot can sit on) Garmadon and some serpentine.

Indeed, it is still £60! its tempting, but my budget won't allow it for now. I doubt it will stay that way for long, I suggest that you pick one up for in store collection or something, it may just be a one of case that my order goes AWOL, but theres some things that just dont work.

Looks like some of the Ninjago, City sets had some 1-month retailer exclusivity period but now starting to show up on a lot more online retailers since today July 1st .

Well I went ahead and ordered it for in-store collection and then without explanation, and without me realising till I was already at the pick up in my chosen Sainsbury's they cancelled the order and refunded it. But on Thier website it was still listed as £60 so I don't know why they cancelled it, if they couldn't get it to the shop on time I wouldn't have minded at delay, the Sainsbury's is right by my bus stop so I go past it every time that I am on shift. But having had a bad taste in my mouth I popped into the Lego shop on my way home and maybe I bought it £70 which was probably unwise but there you go, at least it was double VIP which is better than nothing.

I'll have to check out some other online retailers, when I'm looking for the mech and the king then, I like the look of the golden ultra dragon too but for that price I think I'd rather get a Monkie Kid city of Lantern, I did have and idea to mod it to be a connection point between Ninjago city Gardens and the bookshop modular.

I cannot forsake Argos forever though because I'll be sure to get some Argos gift cards for Christmas and my birthdsy ( they are close together so if I get spending money or gift cards for my birthday I won't use them till post Christmas) as I have for the last 12 years.

On Lego.com Australia, the price of the Kai Raider has gone from $140 to $150, and the Samurai X Mech has gone from $180 to $200. It begins.

That really hurts. I'm not sure if the US's price increases ever were confirmed, but I'm hoping they aren't too bad because I don't really have a lot of money to spend on Lego right now as is. At least Ninjago does tend to go on sale after a while, at least online.

In Lego product news, it seems the next magazine gift after dragon Kai will be the Lloyd from the Crystal King set but with the headband hair and a half mask rather than the hood from the set version.

I like that we're getting some rarer characters out these. Hopefully we get Dragon Zane at some point so the aftermarket price on him ends up lower. I like his design the most of the dragon versions, but I'm not planning on picking up Kai's vehicle.

Agreed, id love to pick up the raider, but that new £90 price is downright disgusting. As for the new Lloyd, the mask has come in only 1 other set, Lloyds titan mech. If you have that set, and can pick up the new magazine, I'd recommend digging that figure out.

I think we should be in luck as they're monthly and they have quite a few months to fill before the next wave releases, what would that be late winter/early spring 2023? So even if not dragon Zane, ( but it would be cool to get all dragon ninja this way as I don't plan on picking up any of the ninja vehicles ) we should get some of the exclusive figures this way.

For me, while I like the Raider, it's not so much the price turning me off as it is me just the fact that I prefer a lot of the other sets. It's actually one of my favorite ninja vehicles from recent times, but I don't have a lot of Lego money at the moment, and I think the Dragon, Temple, Crystal King, and Samurai Mech are all more interesting (prices notwithstanding).

I actually do still have Llyod from the Titan Mech, but I'm planning on getting the Crystal King so I won't need that version of Lloyd anyway.

Yeah, I'd be surprised at this point if we don't end up getting the other Dragon variants from the magazines. I can't directly benefit from them since I live in the US, but the second-hand prices tend to go down everywhere so that will be nice whenever it happens.

I'm not the biggest Fan of the new Samurai Mech, but I really adore the Crytsal Beast within the Set. I hope I can get alle the parts necessary to build it for a reasonable price on bricklink or B&P.

Besides that: many good new sets, but I cant afford that much Lego and Monkie Kid is my Prio #1, so Ninjago has to share second place with some SW and Marvel Sets.

Well, it seems like Ninjago may not be getting any price increases in the US after all. There was a list that went out today (I believe from Barnes and Noble), and there weren't any Ninjago sets on it. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed that those were all of the price increases we'd be getting, but if so I am happy. The prices on a lot of the new sets were already pretty high, and the prospect of an increase was just stupid. It is interesting that they seem to be going down this route though when we know that the prices of Ninjago sets are being increased in a lot of other countries. It might be a licensing costs thing since most of the themes seeing increases in the US are licensed, but it's still a bit odd in my opinion.

I'd hesitate to rule out price increases based on that simply because the list seemed to largely cover already-released sets—and in the U.S., the Ninjago sets release at around the same time as the price increases are supposed to go into effect. So they could be excluded from the list because the price increases will already be in effect at the time of release.

It'd be nice if Ninjago didn't get price increases over here. But the price increases seem to largely be applied to larger sets, and there's several of those in this new Ninjago wave, so I sort of doubt that they'll be excluded over here when they haven't been in other countries.

I hate to be that person, but they did say "its likely more sets will be affected". Hopefully we get a UK chart soon. I can already take a guess from what my local shop is putting out, the raider at £90, the crystal king and £65, the temple at £80, its all going up. As much as I love the place, hopefully they realise their mistake soon with putting these sets up so high. On the complete opposite end of that, I managed to snag the ninja dojo temple for a cool £45, half off there. Will get into it at the end of the month. It has got me wondering though, I do believe that the final couple of scenes from season 16 may end at the ninja dojo temple. We know it has a chance of appearing in the show as it was featured on a poster, and theres a shrine inside the set to master Wu. I feel like Wu may be killed in the final battle and with the monastery destroyed the team move to the new dojo temple, and theres even a samurai X cave under it! This may be the ending of crystallised, with it being left open and letting the reboot take its place, maybe like 10 years after the final battle, a new team of ninjas must quest to find the old team and battle some unknown evil?

Got the Temple + King sets with discount before the August/September increases, the only 2 sets from Crystalized I'm interested in.

Have not built yet but I love how the crystal parts look, and those 2 sets will fit well with 2020 Dungeon (master of mountain) season
