Stuartn Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Brilliant work, the level of detail is insane and the way you have replicated the shape of a minifigure at the larger scale is expertly done. Quote
coreyschaaf Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 Just now, Stuartn said: Brilliant work, the level of detail is insane and the way you have replicated the shape of a minifigure at the larger scale is expertly done. Thank you! I really appreciate the compliment. My initial "doodle" (that's what I'll call it) looked nothing like my finished product, but the ideas was there. The helmet took several iterations and some trial and error. Eventually I just had to choose which version I liked best! The blasters and the backpack are some of my favorite details in addition to the helmet. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 (edited) Oh... My... God... How cute is he! You've done an amazing job capturing him at this scale, especially the helmet! The striping is nicely done, the backpack, the guns, literally all of it! Now THIS is what TLG need to be releasing. You literally put them to shame if they don't. Can the helmet be removed? (haven't watched video, not enough time before work). I do believe you may have made my next bricklinked item! Can't wait for you to do the rest! Edited September 21, 2021 by Fuppylodders Quote
deraven Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 So much detail while keeping the minifig aesthetic right where it should be! I can't find any fault, it's just fantastic! Quote

The idea of buildable figs came from the Official Harry Potter and Hermione Grander releases; I had no interest in them but thought the concept was interesting. Started exploring ideas and started with Tech. The helmet can't be removed, however the visor can go up or down, but I chose to use a hinge to hold it in place. I figured most people will display it that way. The stripe was an interesting detail as I used both the actual Tech minifig and the Black series for reference. It was s three stripe pattern but I just to simplify it. I think it turned out well. 31 minutes ago, deraven said: So much detail while keeping the minifig aesthetic right where it should be! Fuppylodders Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 If I'm honest, I'm keen to see them all. I think you've hit a very good selection of figs to do this to, and how awesome they'll look once all stood together! Quote

Finally hit my 1st question toward the end. Step 352 is shown as fitting on the previous sub-bassemby. The issue is 4859 does not have the open slots in the side like 43719. That means the little alcove is the slanted portion is not big enough for a stud. Edited October 14, 2021 by karmajay Quote

My instructions are calling for part 4859, when in reality, I'm using part 48183. I'll be sure to update that in the parts list and my sincere apologies the mistake! If you don't have the parts handy and need to place a bricklink order for them, please let me know the cost and I'd be happy to pay for them! karmajay Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Ok, got the last two pieces in. Besides that one issue from above it was an easy and fun build thanks to great instructions. The helmet printed pieces are missing in the pictures, I think I accidently sorted them and they have not popped up yet but I'll find them eventually! Quote

I'm glad you enjoyed the build and I sincerely thank you for supporting my work. Hopefully Tech won't be to lonely waiting for his friends to be built! I'll be working on those in the coming months.
