Ivan_M Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Hi everyone, I would like to intruduce my latest creation - a truck with crane. It is commisioned model and one of the fastes build I have ever made. It was a real joy to build with boundries and assignment of less than 2000 parts, 2-3 motors and fun to play with. I have based proportions on Liebherr LTF 1045 crane truck: The model uses two PF motors: servo for steering and L-motor with gearboxes for everything else. There are two gearboxes, one in undercarrige and one in uppercarriege. There are two switches one either side between wheels. One switch between driving (both rear axles are driven) and crane functions. The switch on other side activate outriggers. The rest of the functions are driven from uppercarrige, there is a switch on either side for 4 functions - slewing, winch, boom lift and boom extensions. All functions are one-way as the direction is choosen on PF remote. There is also L-4 engine that is powered from the L-motor, it is not behind the gearbox so it spins every time the L-motor runs. Colorded cutout of the functions is here: crane cutout by Ivan Moc, on Flickr Especially the uppercarrige is packed with gears and very safisfying to build. The largest compromise was done on outriggers as they are very far from real ones. The uppercarrige also suffers from a lack of counterweight as the BB had to be on truck. suffocation Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 This is the type of model I love Mid-scale, as few motors as possible while packing a ton of functions, and good looks to boot. Quote
Pattspatt Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Wow, this is amazing - so many functions, so compact, and everything appears to be very thoughtfully laid out. And it looks attractive to boot! Great job. What is the purpose of the white clutch gear (brown in the schematic) that drives the winch? I could be wrong, but I don’t think it is able to slip since its teeth are being driven on both sides. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Very cool! I particularly like the design of the hook. Quote

Jerry LEGO Creations Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Wow, so many functions for a midscale model, and motorized on top of that! Great job! Quote
efgen86 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Very cool and compact model. I love trucks on this scale. The number of functions is more impressive, and this is from just two engines! Quote
nerdsforprez Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 These are becoming your bread-and-butter! You excel at these types of builds. Well done, thanks for sharing. Quote
GerritvdG Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 (edited) Wow! Really would like to build this, if you need a review/check of your instructions, let me know Edited September 22, 2021 by GerritvdG Quote
Hrafn Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 This is great! The density of functions in the superstructure is impressive. Quote
keymaker Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 Great one, packed with functions and in my favourite scale. Quote
