Trudop561 Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I don't think that the price will be 399.99 USD It's too high for a set like that. I think the price will be more like the ISD (UCS) Quote
5150 Lego Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Impressive.......(In vader voice) Lots ofdetail crammedinot such a small space. Looks like they have taken care of nearly every popular scene taken place on the death star. Most impressive..(in vader voice!) Doesanyone know if the little tie fighter will be able to hold a mini fig? Sorryifthat question has been asked before already. Though i have to say i really don't understand TLG asking to takedown the pics when they are avaible to be scene in so many other sites. It seems that eurobricks is either the only site they ask to remove pics from, or the only ones that listen/comply with the request. Quote
Vaders_son Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 "Left-click, Save-as" is your friend kids Isn't it 'right-click...' usually? Man, being ill since sunday I wasn't online for two days and now there are that awesome news! So happy I found the pics on BS, this set looks amazing But 400$? That'll make it 400€ again Think I'll have to sell all my non Star Wars Lego so I can afford this. And that appears to be it for a new RGS or ATTE in the near future, but this is a definite must-buy Thanks a lot for the pics! Star Wars so ON!! Benny Quote
tedbeard Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Wow, it has 3803 pieces? That sort of makes sense then. I didn't think the piece count was anywhere near that high from the pictures. The model doesn't look very big at all. It looks larger than a basketball and if you look closely it appears to be very "dense". The fact it is 3-D rather than a facade really ups the piece count I think. The floors and structure look quite solid and would have to be to support the whole thing standing on one point. Quote
Trudop561 Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 (edited) Just a question guys : what is the thing under the superlaser on this picture? I also think that there are two royal guards. Never TLG released a set with only one royal guard. Edited June 17, 2008 by Trudop561 Quote
Stauder Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 They have been posted, and soon afterwayrds TLC has asked us to remove them, so please do so. Also, it was alredy posted Staudie. Quote
Deinonychus Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Isn't it 'right-click...' usually? when I'm not drinking...yes As to what's under the superlaser...you mean the thing beside the Trash Compactor? I think that's one of those point-defense laser cannons that you see being fired from the battlestation's interior during the trench battle in the movie. Quote
Raptor Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 nice for making screenshots and fun for the figs but I prefer a bigger set. Quote
KimT Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 They have been posted, and soon afterwayrds TLC has asked us to remove them, so please do so. Also, it was alredy posted Staudie. This is exactly why I reposted the pics in a new thread. The thread is meant as a place to discuss the new set and the pics. Please refrain from useless sms-text and l33t language - we´ve had plenty of that in theoriginal thread KimT Quote

KimT Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 This is what we think we know so far 10188 Death Star Release date: September Price: 399 USD / 274.99 GBP Minifigs: 24 Pieces: 3803 KimT Quote
pedro Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Absolutely awesome playset! They've managed to pack so many great features in and the amount of minifigs is astonishing. Not only that but there's a couple of excellent updates of classic characters. Emperor Palpatine's new face looks especailly fearsome! I'd love to get this set but you can bet your buttocks it's going to cost a fair few £££. I may have to supplement my income sellling myself down the docks... hmmm, maybe not This one will be only for hardcore collectors and rick-kids methinks. The IG-88-alike looks to me like it's made from white pieces and it looks like they've changed C-3PO to a different shade of gold - anyone else think that? Quote
KimT Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Okay people.I know You're exited about this set, but let's discuss it and refrain from posting like this was a chat. Stay cool and stay on target! Or else there'll be......trouble KimT Don't You guys read the thread? Who cares if You saved the pics and where. Post only when You've got something reasonable to say. Is it really so hard? KimT Quote
yorkiejim Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 This couldn't have happened at a better time! my wallet is completly full and it looks like ill be able to get all of the new sets this year! i did the math and i can afford this and the whole clone wars line (and an extra RGS and V19) and still have cash to spare!!! ZoL Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Ahh... To say the least I'm dissapointed, 16 of those people are either remakes or rereleases of the same person. Of those, 10 are exactly the same (minus tan color :hmpf_bad: , and in the case of IG-88, color) Also, it is obviously the 1st death star, but it has 2nd DS rooms? It should be one or the other. But something I like, the Tie advanced "hangs" from the hanger roof. Quote
Plural Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Call me slow, but I've just realised the Tie Advanced doesn't have any blue on it! TLC were definately listening to the fans for this one. Quote

But something I like, the Tie advanced "hangs" from the hanger roof. your forgetting about the people (like me ) who haven't got the money to buy like 15 other sets just for figures so for people like me this is the best set at a reasonable price considering licensing fees and production fees packaging etc ayway IT IS COMPLETELY OUT OF SCALE what the fudge there are 9 focusing beams not 8 worst death star ever Quote

But something I like, the Tie advanced "hangs" from the hanger roof. As mentioned earlier in this thread, the playset has many of the most well known scenes inside. Garbage contractor from DS1, C3P0 and R2D2 in the room from DS1 and so on. Play value is clearly valued above correctness. Just as I like it Quote
