JimBee Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 (edited) Bah! I 2 days of EB and this pops out! It is AMAZING!!! So many figs, great playability, very cool! the only heart sinker is the price tag... 400 big ones.... again, 2009 SW better be lame!! EDIT: after looking at the pics more closely and some of the comments (17 pages... maybe when i return to wisconsin) the figs are like a dream! a new Ben fleshie, a nice Sidious, and a DS trooper for those of you who wanted it so badly. The rooms look very nice as far as i can tell, especially the trash compactor. It seems TLG gave us everything we wanted, and more! Edited June 19, 2008 by JimButcher Quote
Darian Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 That is so awesome *sigh* but it is so expensive why did lego put so much impulse in the set!? Quote
M'Kyuun Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 I'd say the number of mini-figs , esp with new paint apps, are driving the price up on this. I'm fine with it, especially since the unique figs in these sets often become more valuable than the sets themselves. On a different note, I hope the parts bags are numbered and correspond to the various levels, unlike the massive jumble of un-numbered bags in the UCS MF. I haven't much room to spread out, so building the MF often used less time than finding the parts amidst the gaggle of bags. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Ohh. OHHHHHH! That is an amazing set. Seriously, that is the best collection I've ever seen. The list of adventures goes on and on, and look at that cast of characters. This would be a definitebuy for me, but . . . :sing: :sing: Oh man! I don't have NEARLY enough! Besides, it's what, 2,000 pieces at most? Even with all it includes, $400?! Not even $300?! Oh my lord! Oh dear! Even so, I    this set. Hear me? it! This is precisely why TLC would be disappointed that the pic's (though really cool!) have been leaked, because it only paints half the picture. The price is sure to reflect the piece count, and we are jumping to conclusions as to piece count and price until it is officially released. Best to just look at the cool pics and enjoy them. Then make an informed decision once the set is officailly released. Cheers ISC Quote
Nikola Bathory Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 But I've already decided - I'll buy it! (instead of the RGS...) Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 The hell?DSII only has 3417 pieces. The Falcon, the biggest LEGO set ever, has 5195 and clocks in at $500 D'oh! Massive my bad. I knew something was up, lol. Quote
Spidubic Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 This set is so huge and so awesome! I love how they have made it from two movies so you get twice the playability. I want it! Quote

Vaders_son Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 OhOh the guessed price of 399$ was correct I so hoped it'll be rather somewhat around 300$...That means 400€ to find somehow Good thing is, there's some time till September! And almost right after September is Christmas Will be hard to get this and the CW sets into my pocket tho... Anyways, Thanks for the confirming news sam89! Best regards, Benny Quote
Plural Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 It appears there is a hatch from the detention block to the trash compactor. Huzzah! Quote
Led ZePPelin Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Looks like the red under the turbolasers is to support the "moving launch rack" for TIE. Quote
Trudop561 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 CAD 499.99! My bank account will suffer to pay this baby... I hope that I will make (enough) money this summer. Quote
The Kid Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 crushing trash compactor No mention of a rotating base though TK Quote
Canticleer blues Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 So, just an IG-series Assassin Droid. Cool "IG-series Assain Droid", eh? Then that can be one of six: IG-88s A-D, IG-72, and IG-97. Based on the fact that this one's on the DeathStar, though, I'd say it's specifically IG-88A. There we are! Problem solved. Ah! I'll have to save up a lot to get this. I guess I have a few months.... Hey, remember the white IG droid in the Ugnaught's maintenance bay on Cloud City? This could be him. The Empire could've used him for a time but eventually found him faulty and sent him to Cloud City once they were occupying the city for maintenance. All the same this will help some Cloud City MOCs come to be... He's white! Quote
Canticleer blues Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 (edited) Perhaps. Sure makes it easier to get all those pieces in one set. I don't think it was as easy to get enough of those to make a white IG droid. I sill think what I said above though. They leave it up to interpretation, so really, it can be whichever one you think it is. Edited June 19, 2008 by Canticleer blues Quote

There's also nothing stopping us from giving this guy a new IG designation. It's not as if we have to stick to any sort of cannon or continuity when there are three Luke Skywalkers in the Death Star Quote

Yes, it's a 200$ set, not a 500$. Lego is not going to make many money with this due to the small number of people who will buy it. Even the battle packs are more economic because they are easy to sell. I hope that TLG will low the price like they done for the space skulls and star justice sets. However I will have to buy it in the US ==> 100$ less! And even in the US it's too expensive. I have to make a choice : 1. I buy the death star but I won't get the clone wars sets 2. I get the clone wars sets but I won't get the death star I CANNOT CHOOSE! Edited June 19, 2008 by Trudop561 Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 But he's asking how much will is coast... I imagine, not very far, since it doesn't have any wheels. I guess since its somewhat round, it might roll a little bit... Steve You know what an awesome person would do? Build it exactly as shown on the package, then seal it away forever in clear resin as a bowling ball. Quote

I read that was the IG-series droid that tried to attack Boba Fett on his way to Cloud City, but was destroyed by him. His remains were thrown in that "maintenance" room. Great set again. I can't stop looking at it... TT Quote
