Sure, the price is on the high-end of the scale for piece count, but still reasonable.

How is $400 for 3803 pieces much different then $40 for 392 pieces?

The oil aspect can't be ignored either. What if processed ABS plastic has a proportionally equal price increase with processed gasoline? We'd be staring at a $1000 set. So count your lucky stars deino2.gif

I'm probably the only person who is pleased with the price. Honestly, with over 20 minifigs I'm not too surprised by the price. Sets with alot of minifigs always seem to carry a premium sticker price and this one is apparently no exception. Heck, the pricing doesn't seem out-ofline with what we paid for the Falcon so I don't really understand the disappointment (price wise). I still think the set itself looks a tad bland.

You mean a slide in/slide out bridge? That would rock!

EDIT: WOW just noticed I made it to KNIGHThood :pir-laugh: Wow that went faaaast in the end :)

EB ON!!

Yeah, I thought that, too. :hmpf_bad: Oh well, a set like this is definately worth the wait. :classic: I'm sure we will see those pictures soon.

AMEN! Well said and well played, Deino! :sweet:

This is kinda a dumb question but, do you think we'll get a bridge for the swing scene?

I have to say I doubt it.

even just a little removable bridge would be nice. :classic:

Indeed it would, but look: The two doorways are one on one side and one on a whole other angle. They make a right angle; the bridge would have to be curved and I believe it was straight, was it not?

I think not. I am still confused about the elevator. How does this thing work? Maybe with the line next to the pointless craneroom?

Yeah. Remember that there WAS an elevator in the movie in the Falcon's hangar; you can see it briefly bringing up a platoon of stormtroopers.

I've marked a couple of things on this picture which I think implies that there might be a freight elevator connecting those two floors. Particularly the winch seems to support this theory.

<snip>

Yes, that definitely looks like the elevator from the hangar. Can't wait for more detailed pics... :oh:

Just going off the hi-res pics from Christian, it looks like it will be 52 studs across (circumference) x 44 bricks high. So thats pretty decent size wise.

Now i hope due to the strong Aus dollar its pricing isnt more than $500 Aus, otherwise i may as well get it mailed from the US :sceptic:

Well Done TLC on a well designed playset, with lots of cool scenes/features and a death star-load of minifigs :classic:

well i guess i will just have to MOC a curved bridge then, will i. :classic:

That's the attitude! :sweet:

And I notice some pegholders at the feet of the stormtroopers and Luke and Leia. Interesting... We all know how these 'white background' pics don't always show everything...

or 54$ for the same amount in CND compared to 500$ for the death star?

Gah, with this, CW sets, New edition of 40k and space marines and i still havn't got the UCS falcon or UCS grevious, and don't get me started on indy stuff/agents/08 star wars wave, and the BMF. Its going to be a stupidly expensive year to keep the geek in me happy.

but on the other hand it is an absolutely stunning model

It seems that this
has'nt been posted yet.

just play it with the sound off

What is the room above the superlaser? Cant really tell what it does, and it doesn't remind me of any scene from the trilogy

Overall, superb set - the conference room is huge - just wish that Death Star gunner was in there....

Wowwww O_O. Looks a bit bare without the figs, but with them in it's fantastic! I'm loving all the features.

Thanks for the vid :cry_happy:.

Hmmm, it's not available in New Zealand yet... :hmpf_bad: Why are we always last? :cry_sad:

Because you're furthest away?

That's a great video, if you ignore the annoying child.

I'm in two minds about it. Firstly, I want it as bad as anyone else. It looks great. But then there's space and money considerations. I have too little of either.

Yeah, sometimes it sucks living on the underside of the world...

But NZ is a great place! Just not when it comes to buying Lego. I wonder what the chances are of holding the next BrickWorld in New Zealand? After all, it is supposed to be an international event.

I like... I like da part when da entire thing blows up!

SHUT UP!

A great video, very revealing! But we still don't know the mystery of the crank between the overloading gun room and the crane room. And there was an elevator in the middle of it; I assume that's the one where the Royal Guards go out of the chamber.

I SO can't wait for this...
