TheTacoMan Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I'm getting this set around July next year. It LOOKS AMAZING, I want to see everything you can do with it, the elevator, the collapsing catwalk, the trashcompactor, and that thing (forgot the name of it..) were Emperor Palpatine fell in..can you really put a minifig into that hole in the throneroom? Yes you can! And he even falls 2 stories, cause the throne room is right above the room where luke and leia swing across from one side to the other Quote
General Magma Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Yes you can! And he even falls 2 stories, cause the throne room is right above the room where luke and leia swing across from one side to the other LOL. It would be funny to see Palpatine falling into Episode IV. Then you see Leia and Luke standing there and some Stormies on the other side, then Palpatine falls down there and falls of the screen. Quote
TheTacoMan Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Finished my "10188 Death Star" last night after four evenings of afterwork building. What a great build! I can't stop staring at it and turning it around...Now, there is the problem of a proper display place. Where to put it? It can't stay on the coffe table in our living room or the desktop in my workroom, and there is not enough space on my shelves. I hadn't thought before of the storage problem after buying and building the beast of a Star Wars set (I just longed for it). I have disassembled most of my sets and stored them in resealable plastic-bags, but there is no way I would do this to the Death Star. How do you display your Death Star (or plan to do it) and how do you arrange the minifigs of the set? Depends if i'm playing with it or not, i sometimes re-arrange my figures just for the heck of it. ATM, i have Cheiwe and Stormtrooper han in the Prison, Leia and Moff Tarkin in the control room, Vader, Jedi Luke, Palpatine and the two Royal Guard in the Throne Room, C3PO and R2D2 at the control panel above the blast doors, Stormtrooper luke at the part where he swings across, most of the other droids in droid maintenance and the stormtroopers (i've added 4 extras) and death star troopers are randomly scattered. I suggest anyone who gets this picks up a stormtrooper BP, cause the thing looks so empty with just 2 stormies Quote
agent dmitry Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Here we go, boys and girls. From the Lego cache:pics are back Dear Lord, but it's huge. Who knows the price? I think I'm hallucinating that pic of the minifigs. I think we have a contender for set of the year. the price is 400.00 pretty cheap for such an awsome set Quote
Enilder Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 somewhat off topic but did you make the case? do you mind if you post the source of plexiglass casing? thanks Quote
I Scream Clone Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 the price is 400.00 pretty cheap for such an awsome set Ok, agent dmitry, first of all, welcome to Eurobricks. Please introduce yourself here and tell us a little about yourself and take the time to read the site guidelines too. Secondly there is no real reason to post in a topic that was last posted in 6 months ago just to say that the price is 400.00. Please have a reason in future for bumping such an old topic. It diverts attention from newer topics that people are sharing at the moment. Enjoy your time at Eurobricks, there are plenty of great topics and creations to keep you busy. somewhat off topic but did you make the case? do you mind if you post the source of plexiglass casing? thanks The case is from the first release of the death star at a Lego convention (not sure which one) and either belongs to Lego or the person who set up the display (unknown) Quote
Future74 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Totally agree on that I Scream Clone. On a side note: this was the set that made me discover Eurobricks. It only took me 6 months untill I signed up. I was one of the lucky few that ordered the set when TLC released the set with a mistaken price of 299,99 euro, which TLC honoured given they already confirmed the order. It is still the most expensive set in my collection and also the one I'm most proud of. This set is the ultimate scene collection from the original trilogy and therfore worth even the price at which it is sold today. If you haven't bought it already and you can spare the money, than buy it! Quote
Fede78 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 I really like it. I saw last week two of them in a shop in Rome but...400€ it's really a lot for me now. Quote
prateek Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Ok, agent dmitry, first of all, welcome to Eurobricks. Please introduce yourself hear... I think you mean here Quote
mortesv Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I am sorry to bring up such an old thread, but after having read about this amazing set in this very thread I have been obsessing about it :) Luckily, my family noticed my ramblings and gave me this set for X-mas! I am one happy camper right now! May the Brick be with you! Morten Quote
Brickmamba Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 wow what an awesome present to get for xmas that display case posted by svelte_corps is to die for Quote
gulfuroth Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 And back from the past comes this post. Just got this set for christmas. I don't have words to express how much I liked it and the great time I had building it. I've read the comments here and many people regretted they had not included some Death Star Gunners. How about the new set 75034? How would you use it to "complete" the DS (if possible)? Quote
Onos Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 One of the best Lego Star Wars set for me. Only the 10179 is better. Quote
