June 19, 20222 yr If your going to made a $170 Bad Batch set, they should have done it with the Bad Batch Shuttle! It's nice to get something different, but that's a solid chunk of change for only 5 figs, and a fairly unknown vehicle.Â

I never had the chance to pick up the 2013 model, which is probably the biggest reason I'll end up getting this one. It feels a little bit like when the Tantive IV came out back in 2019. I hadn't gotten either of the previous models, and while the new one was pretty underwhelming, I got it because I wanted a Tantive IV in my collection. I have bad news for you... it's $140 I'm really having to watch my wallet right now, so I don't think I'd get it anyway, but if I didn't have an AT-TE yet I'd be much more likely to suck it up and lay the money down for it. 2 hours ago, Agent Kallus said: I'd hope that they're saving the crab droid for a 'remake' of this set.  I really hope they do another 212th battle pack, they're my favorite legion but I don't want to get the AT-TE 1 hour ago, Chedder_chandlure said: AT-TE: I mean its a cool vehicle but not really my thing, lately it feels like lego star wars has been treading the same ground with vehicles already made a few times before and this is no exception To be fair, it has been 9 years. (Or 6 years if you want to count the 2016 one, which I don't) Â

They only have slightly less screen time than the Spider Droids and they haven't even made an attempt at one. In fairness to LEGO, I do think the DSD is quite a bit more prominent than the crab droid. The only time the crab droid was on-screen for more than a moment was a single episode of TCW (Bombad Jedi). In RotS and their handful of other appearances they were in the background and not focused on. By contrast the DSD had the camera all to itself for at least a couple of shots in AotC, RotS, the TCW movie, and several episodes of TCW, and it has about three times as many total appearances as the crab droid, so it’s not unreasonable for LEGO to tend to prioritize it. That said, this is at least its fourth appearance and you’re absolutely right that it’s about time for a crab droid to show up.
June 19, 20222 yr Damn, that AT-TE set looks amazing  Granted, the build looks much more similar to the previous version than I expected, but still. The highlight of course are the minifigures, on top of which is Commander Cody, finally Sure, the generic 212th troopers look different from the current ones, but overall they, too, look fantastic. Yeah, can't wait to add this to my display  Regards, Mitch
June 19, 20222 yr AT-TE - Day 1 buy! And I'll buy a second if I find it on special. I love the build and the figures. I owned the 2008 version for short time 5 years ago, but I sold it as I wasn't collecting CW sets at that time and I generally prefer P2 clones over P1. This set ticks all the boxes for me and my current collection. I will be interested to see if there is any more interior behind the drivers seat (or at least some storage space?). Justifier - I think I will pass on this set. With an AUD RRP of $260 I can't find the value. I think the design is nice enough (I particularly like the size) but the interior is a little lacking from what I've seen. I'm also not fussed by Todo and Omega, and I have (helmeted) Fennec and Hunter already. Wrong page I know, BUT I will be buying that 90th Anni. Castle! I will also buy the SW advent calendar as it is now tradition! I don't think 2022 is as good as last years, but I do like the figs included. I kind of wish the whole set was 'Summer Xmas themed' as it's not very often Australian/Tatooine Xmas gets represented. I don't have that P1 clone commander yet, so that's a nice addition. Looking forward to August!
June 19, 20222 yr The AT-TE looks really good. Great figure selection and build. The Bad Batch set looks fine though I don’t know if I can justify that price.Â
June 19, 20222 yr I love the AT-TE, I think the beetle tank has a really beefy stance and it might also look really good next to one of the ATATs, I told myself I wouldn't go down the dark path of troop building, but the AT-TE is one of those sets I never got as a kid and I want it real bad. I have to resist, but if they drop a LAAT with P2 Rex next summer I will be in trouble. The Justifier is a tough one, sort of a wait and see set for me. On one hand I think the set is a decent balance between features, transforming flight mode, landing gear inclusion, cargo and interior space, but we've hardly seen it on screen and I don't see Cad bane popping up again in Live action, maybe in bad batch Season 2 but I doubt it. I am wondering if Lego is playing a long game on this one, tin-foil hat theory but I bet Cobb Vanth gets this ship (lol Could the name be any more fitting?), the ship must be on Tatooine somewhere after BOBF. If Cobb Vanth inherits this ship and goes on a few off-world adventures to help Mando or something you can bet my interest in this ship will jump 200% as Cobb is currently my favorite post ROTJ character: a man with no armor, no force powers just a really fast draw and a red scarf. I hope they don't crud him up with too many Mod parts lol. Edited June 19, 20222 yr by Alex_South

It’s one of my early predictions for next year, along with us getting Ahsoka’s T-6 Shuttle (to tie-in with her new show) and a new Captain Rex figure somewhere. I guess that’s really where we’re at now, we’ve now seen the majority of the 2022 Lego Star Wars offerings now, so now we can start looking ahead to 2023.  Now that we’ve seen most of Lego’s offerings for this summer, I think I’m still pretty solid on my planned purchases for August 1st. I’ll get the AT-TE, BD-D1, Scythe and Jedi Starfighter (and possibly also the Galaxy Explorer) and save everything else for later on, likely waiting for deals on the rest of the Star Wars wave. I think I’ve gotten pretty much every non-4+ or 18+ Star Wars set in the past year so it looks like I’m sticking to that.

Is there anything we haven't see aside from the upcoming D2C (which is increasingly looking to be the Razorcrest)? I don't remember seeing any other rumors, and there usually isn't much after the August wave, but I could be forgetting something. Overall I'd say this has been a pretty good year for Lego Star Wars. The winter sets were a bit of a mixed bag, but I don't think they were awful, and I'm glad we've finally seen the return of Battle Packs. The dioramas, while not of interest to me personally, also look good. And the summer wave is all around great in my opinion; all of the builds seem at least solid, with the notable exception of the Obi-Wan vs Vader duel. Really, my only major complaint this year is one that I feel like I have had with nearly every set from this theme, that being the price. I understand that inflation is going to affect things, and there has always been something of a Star Wars tax, but even before the price increases there were hardly any sets this year which seemed reasonably priced. To an extent, it doesn't matter, since most sets can be nabbed on sale if you keep your eyes open (at least where I live), but even then some of these prices are still pretty egregious. Just looking at the Star Wars sets from this year on Brickset, the only regular sets which even seem like a fair price at retail are the Scythe, Obi-Wan's Starfighter, and the Hoth AT-ST. I know Star Wars is always going to be a pricey theme, but that is just ridiculous in my opinion. At the end of the day it's just Lego, but the whole thing bothers me, especially since it puts a rather sour spin on what has otherwise been a good year for the theme in my book.
June 19, 20222 yr I think some of the feeling that sets are all ridiculously priced would be helped if We had more sets under $50. As it is there are what 3 or 4 sets that cheap if you exclude the unobtainable blister packs.
June 19, 20222 yr The ATTE is just cool. This is the first Star wars set, i'll be getting since my childhood... I remember playing with it in Star wars Battlefront 2 (the original Pandemic game) for so many hours. Normally I just get the figures of characters I really like. Right now there are 2 Sets left I'd like to see from Lego star wars: well done Minifig scale LAATÂ with Rex and an Ebon Hawk (In fact I'd even take a crazy huge UCS Version, if there is HK47 and all the other Crew members included as minifigs). And if they want to do something crazy in a CMF: Delta Squad :D

June 20, 20222 yr Really like the AT-TE, don't mind the price so much personally. Would like to get 2, fill the second on out with P1 clones from the accessory pack. Justifier, well it looks way better than I thought. Figs are good except don't like Cad Bane's hat and breathing tubes. Tubes too big, hat too small. Don't need another Fennec without hair. Fine for another Hunter, Todo and Omega are great.Â

Honestly I find it kind of weird that they're doing one when the Hoth AT-ST just came out in January, but then again they probably aren't competing for sales in any significant way.

I don't know how much this affects sales, as it's not really something you find out until after the fact, but I have both the 2016 and 2019 AT-STs and they, while great looking, are some of the most unstable and finicky SW sets I've owned, so if the 2022 model is anything similar, I get why they want a version out for little kids.

Good to know! I still think it looks too small on the figure but hey, seems accurate and something new I learned!
June 20, 20222 yr Would have loved Obi-Wan and Grievous in there but can't fault Lego for finally including a decent compliment of trooper minifigs with a vehicle designed to house a bunch of troopers! There was only like two clones in the last Turbo Tank if I recall.  Hopefully this means we might *finally* get another system scale gunship within the next year. I remember refusing to pay resale for one in 2016 because I thought "it's such a fan favourite vehicle, they're obviously going to release one again soon!" lol
June 20, 20222 yr I think I NEED that AT-TE :D It has it's flaws, I don't like the price (not unreasonable, maybe, but I still wish it was 20€ less) and I'll definitely wait till October, hoping for the annual "everything 25% off" discount my local store has before getting it, but nonetheless I need it to join my GAR shelf. On the other hand the Justifier does nothing for me. I don't hate it, I don't like it, I don't think its a waste of a slot as some other weird and extremely niche choices from LEGO in the last few years, or a set that may be good but I dislike because of the source material, it's not something I recognize as good but have no interest in such as most UCS sets, etc. It's just there, and I'm glad it's quite a lot of money I can save/spend on other things. Also, as much as I want a Cad Bane figure, I'd prefer its head to be like the previous version, ie blue with metal prints instead of metal with blue prints as this one seems to be. In other news, checking daily since march 3rd, the clone blister pack is still out of stock on the italian S@H, I'm losing hope of ever getting it, let alone two as was my initial intent. @Mark1006 Quote [...]can't fault Lego for finally including a decent compliment of trooper minifigs with a vehicle designed to house a bunch of troopers! There was only like two clones in the last Turbo Tank if I recall. I agree, love that Juggernaut and both jedi included, but the clone selection was quite sparse and one of the first things I did when I had the possibility was convert the AT-RT storing bay to a troop compartment. I remember refusing to pay resale for one in 2016 because I thought "it's such a fan favourite vehicle, they're obviously going to release one again soon!" lol Grievous seems to have some price increases associated with his appearance in sets (I guess the wheel bike was alright, but look at the starfighter and speeder). So I'm really glad they didn't include him, I shudder to think of a $160 AT-TE that's just the same thing but with grievous added. I maintain that we'd see/have seen a system gunship earlier if not for the UCS one. System versions of sets tend not to be released while UCS versions of that set are already on shelves. Although, PSA for anyone wanting a cheap 2013 gunship: Add it to your bricklink wanted list via "part out", deselect the figures and speeder parts, then change the bubble canopies to the 2002 versions (goes from like $40 each to like $2 each). Unless prices have changed drastically in the past year, it'll save you like $100. There are some other minor things you can do that I put in a thread somewhere, but I'm too lazy to go find it. 1 hour ago, Per_SW said: I think I NEED that AT-TE :D It has it's flaws, I don't like the price (not unreasonable, maybe, but I still wish it was 20€ less) and I'll definitely wait till October, hoping for the annual "everything 25% off" discount my local store has before getting it, but nonetheless I need it to join my GAR shelf. Dang, let me shop at your local store! The AT-TE and justifier are both sets I'll be watching for sales on. The AT-TE because I already have one but really want those clones (though I doubt it'll go on sale, it'll probably be really popular) and the justifier, which I don't want as much, but am fairly sure is gonna break the $100 mark at retailers by march 2023.
