I don’t know if anyone saw BrickFanatic’s news. They asked the LSW team about the lack of new mould for the dark saber, and the team said that due to the short development time of the N-1, they weren’t able to for this set.
I guess we can presume a new mould at some point then, but we’ll see when.

That's interesting if it's true. Seeing as the set comes with a BD unit (which is, of course, a new mould), that would suggest the buildable BD unit and figure had been in development for a while. I assumed its appearance in TBoBF would be what tipped TLG over the edge to make one.

On the other hand that does make the timing of that model really odd... J:FO came out three years ago, and even with the news of its sequel it's not exactly contemporary media as far as Star Wars goes.

That explains the set then...lol I will give props that if they had a short development it came out well. I just wish it was more refined.

I don't know if anyone saw the rumor, but supposedly the new UCS Landspeeder will use the dome element from the new space station as the windshield. This would indicate a pretty good size for the set.

Legohio on instagram posted this rumor, and he estimated a size of roughly 62 x 37 studs.

I did see that. I was under the impression the set would have a brand new windscreen piece unique to the set per Promobricks back in September, which would contradict this info? The size seems about right. I'm really interested to see how they make the set worthy of a UCS slot... I mean the external details don't scream UCS level detail, so maybe something on the interior is greebled like crazy.

I would argue that the Landspeeder is just as UCS "level detail" inherently as something like the A-Wing. I think having a smoothly designed, large-scale Landspeeder could come out really well, but we'll see.

As far as the windscreen, promobricks may just not have known of the new windscreen in the space set, making this one seem new.

Eh, the game was surprisingly a pretty big success and massively exceeded EA’s expectations. It’s gotten a lot of Black Series figures recently and I’ve always felt like Lego sets would do pretty well; I’m more surprised that they haven’t done anything sooner. I guess after a while, it made sense for Lego to just wait and release sets based off the first game to coincide with the second game, which was reportedly supposed to launch around the same time this August wave is releasing. They could have done some sets at some point last year maybe but I guess Lego was wanting to avoid what happened with the one Battlefront 2 set they did (the Inferno Squad Battle Pack) which didn’t seem to sell the greatest and came out too long after the game launched.

That designer’s quote about the Darksaber is interesting. I wonder if another possible factor was that Lego wanted to maintain consistency with the Darksaber included with the Imperial Light Cruiser last year. For as much grief that people like to give to Lego for “not listening to the fans”, I think they do a better job than people give them credit for. If we get a Mando-centric wave during Summer 2023 with sets based on Season 3, kinda like what they did last year, it wouldn’t surprise me if they made room in the budget for a new mold.

That is fair about the A Wing. I did take a look at the transparent pieces in the new space set and I really hope they don't use them. Not only would it be a split screen, the shape in my opinion isn't all that close to the actual movie vehicle. I really do think they'll release a one-piece screen that has never been used before. Problem is, the guy spreading the rumor instagram seems reliable... he's also saying the included C-3PO figure will be drum-lacquered metallic gold. :excited:

Promobricks left a comment under Legohio's IG post about the windshield saying "No, it won't. Simply no.", so I think that's extremely unlikely

Promobricks just shut down this rumor (the windscreen one), so we'll see with the C-3PO, but I'm taking it with a very large helping of salt right now.

Excellent! My anxiety has been alleviated. Can't wait to see the windscreen piece they do produce.

I gotta ask since I forgor :jollyroger:, when do we usually get the full set list? I mean we’ve got about half the wave known as of now, what time last year did everything leak?

It was January last year and April the year before that.

There's another new rumor from legohio on Instagram so take it with a grain of salt. Boba's Rancor vs Scorponek Droid. He claims the Rancor will be a new mold closer in size and similarly to TLBM Killer Croc rather than be the larger Rancor mold we had previously. No idea where that info is coming from but we shall see. Personally I'd be fine with that, regardless Boba's Rancor was going to need a new mold that can accommodate a figure and a bridle and getting a set based on that finale was definitely going to happen. Personally I hope the Rancor is dark bluish gray or sand blue with a tan belly because it's DEFINITELY not dark brown like Pateesa was. I'm also okay with it being smaller in size since Boba's Rancor is much younger and smaller than Jabba's Pateesa as well.

Getting a set that's just Boba's Rancor and a Scorponek Droid with maybe 1 or 2 figs presumably seems like something that would be decently affordable. I honestly was thinking they'd make a much larger "battle for Mos Espa" type of set or something with a Rancor and Scorponek but with a bunch of figures and side builds to make people have to spend more for the Rancor and whatever new figures would come with it.

legohio's 6th unconfirmed "leak" in the past 3 weeks...

Even though this leak is likely fake, if LEGO does make a set like this, I hope the Rancor they use is around the same size as the old one because I’ve been using the old one as a stand-in and I’ve found it’s a lot smaller than Boba’s rancor in terms of scale. I know that Boba’s is smaller than Jabba’s in universe, but they’re not exactly going to have them scale to each other, so hopefully it’s the same size at least, if it’s brick built then maybe bigger.

Looking at his instagram, it settles it for me that this guy is absolutely fake, and consequently his kaminoan and force ghost leaks are also fake. The fact that he has a ton of non-leak and joke leak posts is fine, sure, but the fact that he was also the "luke's landspeeder will use the space dome part" guy and got called out by none other than promobricks on it makes me 100% certain he's a faker. He's one of those dumb fake leakers/trolls/whatever, the only difference is that he put a bit more effort into it.

I'm getting this impression as well. The force ghost shell is thus the best-quality fake part I've ever seen *huh* A lot of effort for something as inconsequential as this
