Artizan Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 I think the way you would get super accurate AT-TE feet is if they make a UCS one. I actually like it a lot, it is kinda weird not to include obi-wan with it but I guess they thought obi-wan is in way too many sets this year. My only complaint would be getting the spider droid instead of a crab droid. Quote

Definitely Rex, I’d say it’s only a matter of time with this new helmet mold. He’s always been higher on my wishlist because he’s arguably a more important character than Cody. 🫢 I think both sets look really good. The Justifer is still really overpriced but it doesn’t look like *quite* as bad of a value as I thought it would be. I don’t think the renders do a good job representing the size of the set, it looks pretty large in that IRL image. The size looks comparable to Moff Gideon’s Cruiser, which is at a similar price point, and is why I’m not quite as bothered about the price as I was before we got pictures. Still going to wait for a deal though. Also, that figure selection looks really puny in like every single picture, there’s no real “justification” for that. I think the AT-TE looks fantastic. There’s a lot of great detail and small blemishes like the toe placement don’t really bother me personally. I’m glad to see no stud shooter on the spider droid, though it would’ve been an easy mod if it did have it. The figure selection is amazing here. Finally getting Cody is amazing of course, but getting all those 212th Troopers, battle droids and a Clone Gunner make this even more exciting for me. I’d like to army build this set if I can somehow find a discount on if somewhere. Definitely getting one copy on August 1st and then we’ll go from there. Overall, this looks to be an amazing wave for Lego Star Wars. It looks like we’re just missing pictures of the 4+ AT-ST and most likely a UCS Razor Crest (that’s definitely what they were teasing with those shirts), unless we get some surprise sets like whatever that tan blob is from the leaked instruction manual page. Oky Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Yeah, I don't think I can justify $160 for that Justifier. I mean, it's a decent set, but what were they thinking when they came up with that price?! And of course they'd put Cody into a big, overpriced set as well... This on top of the $50 they're asking for a blob of gray with Vader and Kenobi on it just solidifies why I don't collect this theme anymore... Quote
Seasider Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 I’m also thinking the fact they were both wearing Razor Crest T-shirts means that’s the next UCS Quote
NeutralNoodle Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 It’s a small detail, but it looks like AT-TE is technically a Clone Wars rather than ROTS set since it has the Clone Wars and not movie branding. Quote

I'm really crossing my fingers that Cody shows up in a cheaper set next year, because I'm not buying the AT-TE. And some people are saying the justifier is $170? Which is even crazier. No, thank you. I'll wait until it inevitably becomes, like, half off at target. 35 minutes ago, Seasider said: I’m also thinking the fact they were both wearing Razor Crest T-shirts means that’s the next UCS Yeah, that's probably what they were going for. Between this and the "metallic gray" comment it's got to be the razor crest. 1 hour ago, The Stud said: Definitely Rex, I’d say it’s only a matter of time with this new helmet mold. Especially since they can do the antennae instead of just ignoring it like last time. Quote
The Stud Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 Does anyone know what that side build in The Justifier is supposed to represent? Quote

It probably ought to be Shmi or Boss Nass, but my vote is for Gregor. Clone commandos have been popular characters for almost twenty years, and especially with them featuring in TBB it’s well past time to get that helmet mold. Neither of the builds for the AT-TE or Justifier look like anything to particularly write home about, but you can’t argue with the minifigs for either set. LEGO does know what they’re doing there. ForgedInLego Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 The geometry of the AT-TE legs look perfect for attaching a dropship, but it looks like it uses the same floppy legs as previous models. This makes the foot able to contact the ground for its entire length of travel, but complicates things when you want them to be load bearing. My dropship for the 2013 walker will probably still work with no modification though, if this crazy idea ends up not being practical. Quote
Gontron Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 The new AT-TE looks like a re-release just with better figures. I don't think it looks that bad tbh considering the 2013 one already felt great proportion wise and the feet issue looks like it could be solved with a few spare parts. I really hope we get another Clone Battlepack to go with it next year, this time not exclusive to Lego stores or 30$. The Justifier still has yet to justify its price imo. Quote
Meaf Posted June 18, 2022 Posted June 18, 2022 The Justifier seems to be what most of us were expecting; a good set that is in no way close to being worth the price tag. Omega and Bane are both great, but I don't think I'll ever get them unless they come in a cheaper set later down the line. The AT-TE is not exactly what I expected. I wouldn't say the build is bad, but it isn't spectacular either. What bothers me more though is the size. Maybe it's just the pictures, but it looks way too small for its price. The minifigure selection here is good all around, but overall I think the set leaves something to be desired. Quote
CodeNameGoldMember Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 Anyone else find it weird that we haven't gotten a Super Battle Droid since 75085 Hailfire Droid back in 2015? I'm also curious why LEGO has never made a crab droid. They only have slightly less screen time than the Spider Droids and they haven't even made an attempt at one. Either way, the AT-TE looks fantastic. Figures all look amazing! I'm glad they added something beyond just the 212th troopers with the Clone Gunner. (Personally wish they would have swapped out one of the 212th for an airborne for even more variety, but that's asking a little too much. I feel like these new helmet molds also help bring a great chance at other clone divisions and more specifically, Commanders, being made. I could see a Gunship or AT-OT in the mix in the coming years. The Justifier looks great too and the landing functions are pretty cool. The price point seems odd to me but it also looks pretty hefty of a build. I'm truly surprised LEGO was able to hold out as long as they did for these sets. It was rather refreshing getting to see something I hadn't already seen official images of like last years Light Cruiser. (I know the images leaked right before but I was already invested in the Conn with the Castle reveal) Quote

The minifigure selection here is good all around, but overall I think the set leaves something to be desired. The last republic AT-TE was $90, and adjusting for inflation, that's $113. Sure, there's the dwarf spider droid, another battle droid, and 2 more clones, but that's not a $27 value. Here are my full thoughts I guess: AT-TE: A solid $15-20 overpriced, and the few changes they make from the 2013 model don't fix the previous inaccuracies. Awesome figures though, and i hope they appear in cheaper sets. If they really did change this from geonosis to utapau just to include Cody, that's a HUGE deal in terms of showing just how much they really do listen to the fans. Justifier. It looks really good, and the figures are great too. There are two real issues here: the fact that its $170, and the fact that lego thinks the justifier is popular enough to be a flagship set. Quote
Whovastron Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 So their shirts definitely hint towards a UCS Razorcrest. I don’t know how to feel about that. On the one hand, it would be great, but on the other…I was looking forward to another Master Builder set, and the ship got blown up over a year and a half ago, surely they’re not that confident in it selling when it’s not even in the show anymore? anyway I expect that to come with pretty much anyone who’s been on the ship. We’ll get a Kuill for sure, and probably Bill Burr’s character. as for the revealed sets, the Justifier looks so cool and fresh, but damn that is a hefty price tag. The AT-TE looks great as a whole package, but damn it’s been 20 years but you couldn’t change the leg design to articulated? The things so small that stability definitely wouldn’t be an issue. Oh well, it’s a pick up from me Quote

Super battle droids are VERY brittle. I had 4 as a kid and all of them broke (I wasn't rough with my toys, those were the first lego pieces I ever saw break). Whenever I get any in a lot to sell on Bricklink, I make sure to package them very softly and never disassemble them for shipping. My guess is lego's aware of this, but knows it'll require at least one new mold to fix, and since the past 7 years have been full of new content, they haven't gotten around to it. They should, though, SBDs are cool. The crab droid is more straightforward: I believe they only appear on utapau and in TCW, so they'd really only appear in that sort of sets. This AT-TE would have been the perfect opportunity, so it was either laziness/cost/timing decision to not design a new side build, or because they changed it from geonosis to utapau to include cody, in which case it's pretty cool. The crab droid not being an official set doesn't annoy me as much as a missing figure or large ship, since it's size and being a droid makes it pretty easy to MOC. Quote

Oh well, it’s a pick up from me I feel largely the same. There's a lot of great MBS choices they've skipped to do this, which, like you said, isn't his ship anymore. I'm not sure we'll see everyone on the ship, though. We could see a couple exclusives, or we could just as easily see an updated, heavily detailed episode 1 mando and a grogu. Quote

I never had the chance to pick up the 2013 model, which is probably the biggest reason I'll end up getting this one. It feels a little bit like when the Tantive IV came out back in 2019. I hadn't gotten either of the previous models, and while the new one was pretty underwhelming, I got it because I wanted a Tantive IV in my collection. Quote

Chedder_chandlure Posted June 19, 2022 Posted June 19, 2022 (edited) Ok so lego con happened and we now know about two new sets AT-TE: I mean its a cool vehicle but not really my thing, lately it feels like lego star wars has been treading the same ground with vehicles already made a few times before and this is no exception. Still its neat and all. Plus we finally get phase 2 commander cody! The Justifier: I do prefer this set honestly, its a new ship with a cool design and the Minifigures all slap, especially the new Cad bane and Omega finally. Sadly tho both of these sets are overpriced but thats lego these days. Edited June 19, 2022 by Chedder_chandlure Quote
