In short: 2007- Battle Packs come out for 9.99$ 2022- Battle Packs are now $19.99 Inflation from January of 2007 to today is 3 dollars and 66 cents and the price increased for $10. At the risk of being called "too loyal" to the company, I would also point out you're not exactly comparing apples to apples here. Battle Packs have evolved a fair amount over those 15 years. More parts (70-80 per set then vs. 100 per set now, give or take), better builds, more accurate/sophisticated prints, new molds, named characters, etc. Yes, they cost more, arguably more than they should (certainly more than I would like). But you're also getting more. And, LEGO's pricing strategy shifted over that period... now pretty much all sets under $100 are priced for immediate 20% discount, at least in the US. That was not always the case. When I started collecting LEGO, it was rare to see sets ever go on sale (I've been told retailers were actively prevented from doing so) but now every Walmart, Target, etc. marks sets down within a few weeks or months of release... sometimes they even launch at 20% off. Those discounts are certainly factored into the list prices, which is a big chunk of why sets cost more today than they did 10+ years ago. Edited November 18, 2021 by jdubbs Quote

Well that's kinda subjective and based on people's preferences, but 2020 Mando BP vs 2011 Mando BP had more pieces cause most of them came from 6 stud shooters, with 6 projectile launchers and then 12 studs to launch. The older one was superior in every way shape and form, new ones don't even have jet packs and you have to pretend they are members of different clans to army build them and they are barely seen on screen. Jedi and Clone battle pack is also a massive downgrade from Clone Walker BP. New Imperial Dropship that was $20 with Han Solo and those family guy helmets vs the 2008 Imperial Dropship for $10. We also got named bounty hunters, inferno squad and astromech droid as an army builder. And do pieces even matter in the BP, it's mostly just a loophole to sell minifigures and you are happy if they make something accurate once in a while, i don't know many army builders that have 20 tiny gunships built from jedi clone BP. Yeah i often see US youtubers and people getting awesome deals and discounts, but it's not a common occurrence in Europe. Quote
NoOneOfImportance Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Someone on Insta posted a picture of some minifigures, with a Rebel Friend figure being part of the group. Does anyone know if this is legitimate? Quote

Flaming Bricks Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Do you think we'll get any Obiwan Kenobi sets based off of the Disney Plus show? I'm excited to see the Boba's Palace set based of off The Book of Boba Fett. If possible, I would love to see a Kenobi set with Obiwan vs. Darth Vader! Do you think The Mandalorian Season 3 will release next year? I hope we get more Lego Grogu sets! Quote

I think if any show was to get a set next year it has to be Kenobi cause it's the most hyped show on SW's 2022 slate. If Mandalorian releases next year then we'll get sets in 2023 but not earlier. I think next year will probs just be OT and some Boba Fett/Kenobi stuff, also I doubt Grogu comes back in Mando S3 so we probably won't get any more of him for a while. Quote
Flaming Bricks Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Dang no more Baby Yoda! The ending for S2 of Mandalorian made me cry, but the post credit scene perfectly set up Book of Boba Fett. Do you think we'll get Bad Batch S2 next year? Hopefully we get a Lego Omega! Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Thank you very much for the pics! Apart from that it's overprice and it's a pity that there's no Snowtrooper Officer included, I really like the Hoth BP: There's only sensefull stuff included and the minifigs have "normal" weappons. It's a pity that the Hoth AT-ST fits only one driver plus instead of the probe droid and Chewbacca I would have preferred to get another (Snow or Rebel) trooper. But the vehicle itself looks superb and will for sure be a gain in every Hoth diorama. Quote

After seeing the concept art, there is no way we won‘t get at least a couple of sets. What I‘m looking forward to the most are the Inquisitor(s) that could be included. I‘m still salty they skipped Seventh Sister and Eighth Brother back in 2016, so they could rectify that if either of them makes an appearance We still don‘t know which one(s) will be featured in the show, could be anyone… Well, almost. Ironically, the one they‘ve shown in the concept art (Second Sister) is the only one that can‘t, considering what happened in Fallen Order Personally, I want the show to introduce new ones (like Third Brother) because most of the others we‘re already familiar with die at later points, so duels with them are kinda pointless. The same could be said about the main duel in the show, but still Quote

The same could be said about the main duel in the show, but still Third Brother is actually the only one whose fate isn't known. Second Sister died on Nur, Fifth Brother, Seventh Sister, and Eighth Brother on Malachor, Sixth Brother on Raada, Ninth Sister on Kashyyyk, and Tenth Brother on Mon Cala. Fourth Sister technically might be alive, but she lost a fight badly enough that a Rebel commando showed up impersonating her and wearing her armor, which is obviously a pretty bad sign for her health. 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 were still alive as of the show, so they might still show up, but as you say, their narrative roles are constrained by their appearances in later stories. I've maintained ever since they first showed up in Rebels that numbering the Inquisitors was an enormous mistake on Disney's part; not being able to easily introduce more hugely limits the stories they can tell with them, and it serves absolutely no narrative purpose. They're going to need more antagonists than they have, so at some point they're inevitably going to have to reintroduce the Emperor's Hands or one of the other EU Imperial dark side organizations, and then that'll be an awkward graft into the new canon since Rebels and various other media have implied that the Inquisitors are the only Imperial darksiders the protagonists are aware of. If they'd had a bit more foresight in 2014 things would be a lot cleaner. Quote

Also, a recent encyclopedia has revealed that both Third Sister and Third Brother exist, which heavily implies that there‘s a pair for each number, meaning that there could be at least 20 Plus the one‘s you‘ve mentioned aren‘t the only ones. There‘s the black Twi’lek and the red-skinned female Inquisitor that still don’t have names, and the Inquisitor whose saber was wielded by Maul probably didn‘t survive that encounter So in the best-case scenario, we see a mixture of new and familiar Inquisitors in the show. The new ones for the sake of the story (so the duels are more exciting) and the old ones so we can fill some gaps in our collections. I know we‘ll never get all of them in minifig form, but at least the more prominent ones I hope Quote
BacktoBricks Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Don't know about any other country or when or why it has happened, but the UCS AT-AT has gone from £749.99 to £699.99 in the UK. Quote

I'm not going to bother delving into Price per piece or inflation etc to work out what it 'should' be, but just from a straight quick glance consumer standpoint, whilst it is still a considerable amount of money, staying under the £700 (just!) seems like a better bet. £749.99 gives that impression (at least in my mind) that your tipping closer to the £1000 mark as you're basically in that last quarter before that milestone. I wonder if it’s a response to backlash? Looking at the uk lego facebooks AT-AT post, 95% of the comments seem to be saying it’s too much considering it’s got less pieces than the Falcon. I never even knew the ISD had been cheaper in the US compared to the falcon, there I was forking over the exact same amount Quote

Just taken a look at that post (cool advert too) and it seems like the usual 'great set, but a lot of money' comments. So maybe, although we'll never know exactly because Lego won't tell us, but since when have people not complained about Lego prices being too high and since when have Lego reduced a set. The recent Grievous Starfighter for instance was *cough* grievously overpriced and got a lot of negativity for it, but it's still the same. The only thing I can think is that this is on another level of pricing, but did the Falcon not receive similar comments on reveal? Obviously no one has been charged that price yet, but something has made them reconsider. Anyway it's all good. Quote

The £749.99 was obviously in all the LAN press kits and everything so it seems like a genuine turn around. Also Brickset has just reported the news and have commented that the Brick Sketches were also reduced following consumer feedback, although on that occasion I would guess that it was more poor sales feedback. Good luck! Quote
