Hopefully all the ‘investors’ don’t try to send the Snowtrooper BP to the moon in January or Lego might withdraw it from the market due to poor sales like last time.

Those are resellers and not to the moon people. They don't hurt LEGO or their sales, they actually boost them. LEGO gets the same amount of money if thousand of different people each buy 1 BP for themselves or if 1 person buys thousand of BP to try to mark up the price. LEGO doesn't care what people do with sets after they sold them, they already got their money. You also need 12 BP to fill out AT-AT and 3 BP to make at least a squad so regular people competing with army builders and people that want to fill out UCS set and then resellers and then ton of people will complain on forums and social media which will bring even more people to want the set to brag they got it or cause of fear of missing out. Poor sales are the last thing i would worry about.

Um, how are scalpers supposed to manipulate the worth of a set while it’s still in production?  That sort of trickery is only possible once a set is phased out of production and can’t be easily bought at stores anymore, handing complete control over the supply over to the aftermarket.

Unless a set is sold out for months of course, but this is a regular retail set, so that’s not particularly likely. And waiting for new stock shouldn’t be too hard either

I think half of the people don't even know what to the moon is and they will be blamed for every figure price increase and scalping issue despite raising prices on only 2 figures Bail Organa and Thrawn.

Tell that to the people selling PS5s and Xboxes on ebay for double the retail price...

You can hardly equate those to lego sets, though. The only standard retail set that I can remember suffering from this while in production was the mando battlepack, and even then it was never more than $20-25, and only for a couple months. Legos do tend to have some serious price increases after retiring, but while in stock they rarely do this.

Add the 501st pack to that list. Maybe not for the whole world, but at least in Aus where it's never on the shelves, technically not retired as it still shows up on S@H - although permanently out of stock - and I've never seen a 3rd party seller asking less than 50% above retail price.

So the new accessory packs are supposedly one with 3 x AOTC clone troopers and one with Hoth Rebel troopers. So glad phase 1 clones are coming back!

Sounds pretty lame to be honest, those should've been regular battlepacks instead :hmpf_bad: So much for exclusive prints then

For all intents and purposes they are battlepacks, even with the different packaging. I know some were expecting Rex or Cody to make an appearance, but there's no way Lego will do that when they could come in an expensive set. These do at least make sense for the current market - Hoth troopers to got against the AT-AT and snowtroopers and clones for those who may want to fill out their Gunship, non-minifigure scale or not. The Jedi and clone battlepack has become expensive on the aftermarket for the two clones it offers so I'm glad they are reappearing here and in a way people can buy multiples.

Would’ve been nice to see a Bad Batch accessory pack but alas, personal preference. Phase 1 Clones still sound nice, and Hoth Rebels are sorely needed given how severely outgunned they are with the UCS AT-AT and January sets

So the accessory packs are basically the battlepacks with less stuff and the actual battlepacks are still the same but more expensive for whatever reason. God what is happening to this theme.......

Three minifigures for 15€ isn't exactly cheap, and the animated phase 2 torso simply doesn't match the realistic phase 1 helmet... But it's still a pleasant surprise to get a PT set at all.

Maybe the exclusive “new” print is an updated Phase I torso? Can’t imagine them not including a single new print across two of these packs, but then again, this is SW  I wonder if all three of the clones are plain ones or if we get some different ranks here. Not that it would make much of a difference since we got all of them before

Australia is a different beast though, you guys seem to have lots of issues with stock. In America at least, the set was always widely available around retail price.

These battle packs sound pretty good overall, with one glaring issue. I like that the side-builds are canonical. I like the faction choices. My big issue is that they ONLY HAVE 3 FIGURES? This isn't even a "disney tax" situation, as the marvel packs routinely have 4 figures. I can't see a rational choice for this besides them hoping people will buy it anyway with just 3 figures, and I don't think I'll get either set.

The phase 1 clones with printed legs average >$10 each on bricklink right now. This will bring the price to $5 each and is better value than the clone trooper battle pack we got a few years ago with Barriss Offee and Ki Adi Mundi. I bet these are going to sell like crazy. I wonder if LEGO will have strict limits on the number you can order as I cannot imagine they have enough supply to meet this demand.

I’ll reserve judgement until I see the actual builds of these.

Hopefully the Clone Battle Pack means AOTC sets this summer?!

One can hope…

I actually think this is likely. BoBf, Andor, and Kenobi are all smaller scale and not likely to get the slew of sets mando got, and with clone wars now multiple years past, I can see them going back to geonosis.

While more AOTC coverage would be nice, I'd rather they finally focus on scenes other than the Battle of Geonosis  It feels like TLG reduces the movie to that battle alone, similar to how TESB is dominated by Hoth sets with the very rare Dagobah or Bespin one

I still hope they get treated decently. If TBOBF can get two sets right away (sort of), then the other two shows should too

I'm happy for the people who didn't have the chance yet to get them, but it's still a lot of wasted potential :sadnew:

Absolutely. I was hoping for some "civilian" stuff to populate SW dioramas with. There's too much focus on Empire Strikes Back personally. When was the last set from the Battle of Endor; seems ages ago. On the other hand it could have been worse... Jar Jar & another R2D2

I hope that if they do AOTC sets than they'll do a Jango Fett Slave 1 - excuse me, Jango Fett's Starship - as part of the wave.
