While in the series, the starfighter is sleek and feels really compact, what LEGO put together looks like a bunch of junk next to it. Seriously, it looks like someone took a bunch of random LEGO bricks and patched an ugly version of this starfighter. It's too thin, while it also isn't smooth at all. Minifigures don't look that good either. Sure, Peli looks good, but BD kinda sucks. It looks too detailed for such a small LEGO mould, no it also feels too tall. The price is also awful. 70€ for that piece of junk? No thank you. Why Lego Star Wars sets have to be always so overpriced? I have bought recently Jabba's Palace from 2012 and it costed me almost 300 francs... On other hand today I was watching Lego Ninjago City Gardens and what shocked me was the price 300 chf for 5685 pieces... Quote
ArrowBricks Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 The set is ok, but I don’t like the lack of chrome pieces (like the Mando helmet), and the piece used at the back of N-1. The droid also looks average imo. Will pick it up when it’s reduced by £10-£15 or so. Quote
Surge Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 So is this supposed march 1st early lego store release thing ive been hearing true? Quote
T21Typhoon Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Can’t say I’m a fan. The build fails to capture the compact sleekness of Mando’s N1. Might get this at a discount but I’m underwhelmed. The BD unit looks nice! Quote

That would explain why these pictures are out so early. I quite like the set, but I'm sure if I looked more closely at the myriad of MOCs that came out a few weeks ago I might have second thoughts. As it stands, I plan on getting it, but definitely not full price. Far too high. Quote
CF Mitch Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Huh, I was excited for the N-1, though mainly for the Darksaber, to be honest. But now that I've seen it... meh. The build is actually not that bad. While it might not look exactly like the source material, I like the general half-finished look. Peli and the BD droid are nice too, but I'll skip it nonetheless. Regards, Mitch Quote
NeutralNoodle Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Not really interested in this set (at least at its current price) but I definitely want to BrickLink one of those BD-1 minifigs. Hopefully this means we’ll get Fallen Order sets down the line. Quote
BaalTheBuilder Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 The failure to mold - or even color-up an existing sword - to create a somewhat realistic darksaber is just laughable. Would have made me overlook the weird ship design choices. Solid droid mold though. Quote

Alpha Draconis Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I am split on the N-1 set. I'll need to see the underside to make my final judgement. I'll get it but it's just a question of when and for how much Also, no cape for Mando? I hope it's included as an accessory. I get that it's best to not have a cape on minifigs that are supposed to fit in a tight cockpit, but you can at least include one and let the consumer decide what to do with it Quote

Hopefully he’ll be red in that set. I just can’t see them making a new mold and a whole set for that character if they weren’t planning to do anything else for that game/series in the future though. I'm sure if they have him in the BD-1 set, he'll be the right colors. It'll just be interesting to see if he's in any sets beyond that. I'd love to see a good Stinger Mantis at the $140 price that we have this summer, but we'll see. Quote
TeddytheSpoon Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 (edited) Ehhh the N1 looks pretty rough IMO. The TPM ones mostly get the rough shape across, even if they're not terribly accurate. This looks a bit messy, Peli and the BD unit are the only saving grace here (and even the BD looks a bit tall). Without drum lacquer and at least a katana for the darksabre, for the price it does feel a bit phoned in. Edited February 14, 2022 by TeddytheSpoon Quote
QuiggoldsPegLeg Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Why on earth does Pelli not have mid-legs? Do the Star Wars designers forget that piece exists? While the Pelli minifig looks good (other than the legs) this set is a definite pass for me. The build doesn’t look good and none of the figs other than Pelli are a draw at all. Quote

Probably because she’s an adult. As far as I’m aware they have only given those legs to teenage characters. Quote
MKJoshA Posted February 14, 2022 Author Posted February 14, 2022 I really like the N1 set... but not for that price tag. Feels like the General Grevious Fighter all over again. Quote

Ah yes, world-famous teenage Joe Pesci I think this is an excellent set Also good to see that the utility belt piece is still a thing Quote

Well the Palace is an set from 10 years ago that was pulled from the shelves early that has a lot of desirable figures we still have not got so that explains it's price tag. Didn't help you also paid over the going rate for it. Quote

In reality, the set was supposed to retire at that point anyway Biggest troll move they've ever pulled and I applaud them for it Quote
The Stud Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 (edited) Well, that was fast. I’m surprised to see some of the meh reactions here; I think the model looks fantastic. It’s clear that it’s supposed to be an N-1 but it’s distinct and isn’t just a boring recolor. There is all sorts of fine detailing, though I do think it’s weird that Lego is back to doing a large, detailed-yet-overpriced starfighter again after rescaling the ships last year. Yeah, the price sucks, especially compared to my 2015 fighter, but that topic has been well-covered in this thread so that’s all I’ll say about it. I’m still getting the set regardless. I don’t feel like this was the best hair piece they could’ve used for Peli Motto, but the figure is pretty good otherwise. I could always use another Mando and Grogu, though the render of Din’s visor looks weird again, and it looks like he has a brown head piece? I doubt the figure will actually be any different. The BD droid looks good, but something feels off about it. Maybe it’s the molded inverse stud between the legs? I also think that it looks way too tall next to a figure. If and when we finally get a Cal Kestis figure, he’s going to look short next to BD-1. The lack of posability also kinda sucks, as that means we won’t be able to easily have BD on his back. Oh well, I’m still excited for the set regardless. Like I said the other day, the only other things I want from TBOBF in Lego form are a Rancor, as well as Krrsantan and Cobb Vanth figures. Besides that, I’d be happy with Lego moving on to doing sets from the other shows, which all seem to be a lot better. Edited February 14, 2022 by The Stud Quote

Between appearance and price, this an easy pass for me. Quote

Redroe Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Unpopular opinion: I rather like that N1. Peli sports the hair I expected, so not disappointed. BD droid is just OK for a guy who hasn't played Fallen Order. Can never have too many Grogus as they lose easily when there are kids in the house. Mando still hasn't got his mohawk printing (I'll beat that drum til my hands drop off) but has the visor print been tweaked? Hard to tell from renders. As for the ship, yes, poor show on no chrome parts but smorgasboard of curved pieces and useful parts, a few tasty recolours. Scales decently with existing N1's, none of which I own. Oversized then, but most starfighter models are. But the price. Oof, the price. 3 hours ago, Kit Figsto said: In regards to the Coruscant one, I don't buy it. I don't buy it. But *would* I buy it? Hell yes. Quote
