tin7_creations Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 One of the large planes seen in the Cartoon or the zeppelin and mor of the bad guys maybe battle packs. oooh, i like the battle pack idea. lots more henchmen for the main villains. imagine a Joker army Quote
theestampede Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 That list with all the new sets that seems to be going around doesn't have any Batman on it, god, Im going to be so angry if they stop making batman sets. I never really had any dark ages, but the Batman sets definately caused me to buy new sets regularly. I really hope that list is incomplete, I think Ill cry if I don't get all the characters we are missing. I don't really understand why Lego would let an excellent license like Batman go to waste... Dadster Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I think TLC is gonna stick with the vehicles for Bats - easier for the little collectors to build and roll around (and cheaper for the parents as well). Quote
Marshallmario Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I would love to see a Mask of the Pantasm Batman. That was a great movie! Batgirl would be my #2 want. Quote
Pencoin Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Sorry to say this guys, but I REALLY don't think there will be any more Batman sets . Quote
Light Light Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 They must be planning something, it is a good theme. In my opinion, they are waiting until after the Lego Batman game is released. The game features new villians and characters we haven't seen in the sets, so there will be new possibilities, like Clayface and Man-bat. Quote
VBBN Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 We want bookworm! I predict we will get some new Batman in 08...hopefully Quote
Derek Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I don't know. It could go either way. I personally think it would be silly to release the game, and then not continue the line. If people like the game, especially if they aren't already into Lego, there might be a greater demand, thus an opportunity for more profit. Quote
The Brick Rat Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I must admit that, like some here, I've been skeptical about LEGO Batman returning in 2009. However, I just read this post over at Legions of Gotham. For conveniences sake here is what the poster wrote: I wrote the marketing guru at LEGO a lengthy letter expressing my thanks and comments on the LEGO Batman line. I will not reveal his or her name, for privacy reasons but He/She stated the following: From: Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2008 11:56 AM To: Rick Fraga Subject: Your interest in our Batman line Dear Rick, thank you very much for your mail regarding Batman. We have seen that the new Batman film is a huge success so we looking into possibilities to do more new Batman sets. Unfortunately I can not comment more on possibly upcoming products. Regarding your Minifg questions I can only tell you that we could think about all characters you name as possible LEGO Minifg characters but also here I am not able to comment on possibly upcoming products. Hope my answers help you a little bit. Kind regards, med venlig hilsen, mit freundlichen Grüssen ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So there you have it, the best possibly maybe answer the Public Relations guru at LEGO could offer. Not much to go on, but LEGO thinking about possible new sets due to the success of The Dark Knight, give me hope. Quote

Zaktan of the Shadows Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Sorry to say this guys, but I REALLY don't think there will be any more Batman sets . But with the success of the Dark Knight and (probably) the Lego Batman video game, wouldn't it be strange to discontinue it? ~Air Spirit Quote
Seth Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I think a line of Batman impulse sets or battle packs Quote
Batbrick Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I think a line of Batman impulse sets or battle packs Definitely, I think the henchmen would best work for that. By henchmen I mean their game counterparts, with Poison Ivy's groundsmen, Riddler's suit wearing group and Mr Freeze's coat wearing guys. That would be sweet. Batbrick Away! Quote
Pencoin Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 It does seem weird that TLC would cancel such a good theme though. And now with the LEGO Batman series... Quote

By henchmen I mean their game counterparts, with Poison Ivy's groundsmen, Riddler's suit wearing group and Mr Freeze's coat wearing guys. That would be sweet. And of course, like with SW, Battle Packs get round the problem of other companies not liking minifig pack as they're too similar to the action figure packs they put out. And they wouldn't be too expensive as they'd be four figures that'd essentially be the same. Quote

Not too sure about Special Editions or Exclusives. I'm having enough trouble as it is finding the regular release sets in stores here, let alone having to track down Special Editions as well. But it would be nice to see the line expand elsewhere. It's got to be one of the most underrated of the current themes. Quote

I mean like a Wayne Manor exclusive on S@h, for the same price of something like Cafe Corner but a little less. I'd love to see that, a giant exclusive set. But it would be nice to see the line expand elsewhere. It's got to be one of the most underrated of the current themes. Definitely, but it seems to be going very well, the Batman sets are selling like hotcakes with the new movie out, and now we have a game and a tv show in Lego form for it. Batbrick Away! Quote
???theriddler??? Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Really sad news in this post from LOG Sadly no news on LEGO Batman for 2009 =( I am so sad right now. Read below. LEGO: 2009 lines revealed Lego has unveiled its first half product line-up for next year, lead by new line Power Miners. Launching in January, Power Miners will have year-round marketing support including a full PR campaign focused on the childrens’ press, online marketing, Lego Club campaign and in-store promotions. Power Miners features a team of miners that dig into the Earth’s crust and encounter half-rock/half-crystal monsters. The range features collectible vehicles and mini-figures and monsters. Elsewhere, the new Bionicle theme is Glatorian, with six ‘tribes’ based on different elements (fire, water, ice, rock, jungle and earth). The new line features a shootout action game to encourages social play. The range launches in January. Also added to the line-up are six smaller Bionicle figures, designed as an impulse purchase. The Indiana Jones range continues with two new sets based on classic film sequences – Fight on the Flying Wing and Shanghai Chase. Lego Star Wars additions include the Republic Attack Shuttle, Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter and Clone Walker Battle Pack. A new feature for the Racers line-up are unfolding racetracks which are built into the packaging. There are four major themes in the Tiny Turbos line – Formula 1, Stock Car, Rally and Desert racing. New pull-back Power Racers include Ferrari Victory, Monster Jumper, Extreme Wheelie, Blue Sprinter and Race Rig. Lego City Power items feature a bulldozer, Construction Site set, Front-End Loader and Dump Truck while Lego City Farm includes a Tractor, 4WD with Horse Trailer, Combine Harvester and top of the range Farm set. WHY? So the last thing is the lego mc donalds things!!!!!! Quote
JopieK Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Maybe it has to do with licenses?! LEGO now and then is a very strange company... Quote
Batbrick Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Eh, guys, you do realise that the list is only for the fist half of the year right? Batman always comes out later, so don't panic yet Batbrick Away! Quote

Definitely, but it seems to be going very well, the Batman sets are selling like hotcakes with the new movie out, and now we have a game and a tv show in Lego form for it. I'd certainly buy them... if any of the shops over here stocked them. Eh, guys, you do realise that the list is only for the fist half of the year right? Yes I guess it was, but I mean a total exclusive the likes of Cafe Corner, but as a giant Wayne Manor. It'd also get lots of new figs that way. I'd certainly buy them... if any of the shops over here stocked them. That must be just getting aggravating now.... I'm sure I've said that a couple of times as well.Batbrick's right, calm down. We've not heard any word of Castle yet either. Thanks, the castle point is a good one, we have not heard of any sets yet we know they are coming, I reckon we'll see Batman yet. Batbrick Away! Quote
Pencoin Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Actually there was the three castles sets we already knew about on the list. It really aint looking good is it? Quote
