The Brick Rat Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 power miners rock monsters = clayface? I think if TLC gives us a Clayface fig, it will look like the one from the LEGO Batman game rather than recyling the Power Miners rock monster. However, I'm sure lots of people will use the rock monsters as Clayface stand-ins, including me. I just wish they were a little larger (say somewhere between the Hagrid minifig and the Adventurers Yeti). Quote
VBBN Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Batbrick, I didn't mean the tumbler, I meant the Batmobile convertible from the 1960's TV show... Quote
Brainbox Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Yes, that's the one TLG should have used! And IMO, it should be orange. It's orange in BTAS. True, but it's red in a lot of the comics, and that's where I'd rather see TLG draw inspiration from. Well, let's see... How about The Ventriloquist? It could be a Arnold Wesker minifig with a new mold for Scarface - a miniature minifig of some sort with a hole in its back and a little handle bar on the inside, so that he the ventriloquist can hold it in his hand. Oh yes please. If he's done, he needs to be done right. This way would be a good way of doing it. Plus, ho cute would a mini-minifig look? I think if TLC gives us a Clayface fig, it will look like the one from the LEGO Batman game rather than recyling the Power Miners rock monster. I agree with that. All they need do is remold the Gamorrean/Wookie torso slip-over piece to give us an awesome looking Clayface. Batbrick, I didn't mean the tumbler, I meant the Batmobile convertible from the 1960's TV show... He knew that. But you said it was the best Batmobile "almost ever" which implied there was a better one. Quote
Shoc Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Oh yes please. If he's done, he needs to be done right. This way would be a good way of doing it. Plus, ho cute would a mini-minifig look? You mean The Ventriloquist being cute, not Scarface? I'd like to see how TLC would make a dummy anyway... He might end up geing a little gig, gut he would ge a great minifig. :skull: Quote
Batbrick Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 True, but it's red in a lot of the comics, and that's where I'd rather see TLG draw inspiration from. Exactly, there is quite a bit of inspiration drawn from BTAS already in this series but I want the best of all interpretations, and I like red. Oh yes please. If he's done, he needs to be done right. This way would be a good way of doing it. Plus, ho cute would a mini-minifig look? Very cute, could he hold normal things or just hold a mini tommygun? I agree with that. All they need do is remold the Gamorrean/Wookie torso slip-over piece to give us an awesome looking Clayface. I'd still prefer a larger Clayface but that is still nice too, plus you could get three of him and claim they are the three different Clayfaces. He knew that. But you said it was the best Batmobile "almost ever" which implied there was a better one. Yeah, that's what I meant. You mean The Ventriloquist being cute, not Scarface? I'd like to see how TLC would make a dummy anyway... He might end up geing a little gig, gut he would ge a great minifig. Nice referencing, he was referring to Scarface being cute though, considering that would be a mini minifig. Batbrick Away! Quote
Shoc Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 Nice referencing Hehe, dunno why I did that. he was referring to Scarface being cute though, considering that would be a mini minifig. Yeah, I don't know if Scarface could be cute even if he is tiny. Well, maybe he could, I actually think the Lego Two-Face turned out kinda cute. :skull: Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted September 19, 2008 Posted September 19, 2008 I really want to see a batman limo! Like it could have alfred and bruce! It would look sorta like an old Bentley or Rolls-Royce! They could put in a rocket launcher (like the one in James Bond's BMW Z3!) for children. Quote
Big T Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I really want to see a batman limo! Like it could have alfred and bruce! It would look sorta like an old Bentley or Rolls-Royce! They could put in a rocket launcher (like the one in James Bond's BMW Z3!) for children. Actually that could be a good way to get a cheap Alfred, as well as a regular Bruce, so I wouldn't mind seeing that. Unfortunately with the direction they seem to be going with Batman we'd need a bad guy for that set. I'd love to see how they'd do Scarface and the Ventriloquist actually Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Hmm.... That would be a hard one to work out... Oh! THey could put all the evil henchmen causing havoc in front of a building facade. Or They could make the henchmen in front of a bank stealing sacks of cash while Bruce is rlling down in his limo. (It would be pretty expensive, though because of the bank ) Quote
Oky Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Actually that could be a good way to get a cheap Alfred, as well as a regular Bruce, so I wouldn't mind seeing that. Unfortunately with the direction they seem to be going with Batman we'd need a bad guy for that set. How about Ra's Al Ghul and Talia? They know about his secret identity. Or perhaps Selina Kyle? Quote
The Brick Rat Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Bruce Wayne's limo would be great, but I'd like to see it as part of a Wayne Manor set (and Alfred should wear a chauffeurs uniform). Quote
Brainbox Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Exactly, there is quite a bit of inspiration drawn from BTAS already in this series but I want the best of all interpretations, and I like red. I like red too. Red hair that is. Very cute, could he hold normal things or just hold a mini tommygun? Oh, just a mini tommygun. Otherwise his hands would be ridiculously big. Yeah, that's what I meant. See, I can read you like a book. Nice referencing, he was referring to Scarface being cute though, considering that would be a mini minifig. I was. I've not quite gone so far as to find Ventriloquist cute. Yet... Well, maybe he could, I actually think the Lego Two-Face turned out kinda cute. Well, there you go. Unfortunately with the direction they seem to be going with Batman we'd need a bad guy for that set. Hugo Strange? Quote
Batbrick Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I really want to see a batman limo! Like it could have alfred and bruce! It would look sorta like an old Bentley or Rolls-Royce! They could put in a rocket launcher (like the one in James Bond's BMW Z3!) for children. Good idea, but anything but a rocket please, that's just weird. Actually that could be a good way to get a cheap Alfred, as well as a regular Bruce, so I wouldn't mind seeing that. Unfortunately with the direction they seem to be going with Batman we'd need a bad guy for that set. I reckon they'd think of something, plus Bruce Wayne is known to be attacked by the freaks occasionally. How about Ra's Al Ghul and Talia? They know about his secret identity. Or perhaps Selina Kyle? Since Selina knows Bruce's identity now that might work, but I reckon Hugo Strange would be awesome. Or Hush - with a trenchcoat. I like red too. Red hair that is. Babs. Oh, just a mini tommygun. Otherwise his hands would be ridiculously big. Good point, but I wonder if they would just have Wesker hold the gun? I wouln't mind that, I'd prefer the mini gun but if that is how it is I'm fine, so long as we get Scarface See, I can read you like a book. A book, or a comic? I was. I've not quite gone so far as to find Ventriloquist cute. Yet... He's kinda cute in BTAs, probably because you really feel sorry for the poor guy, he's just so darn pathetic. Hugo Strange? Great minds think alike, I'd love to get Strange, I really need to get Batman and the Monster Men sometime. Okay, so we thought of characters, now we need to think of Vehicles, here's what I got: Bruce Limo Mad Hatter glider (C'mon, has anyone else got any better ideas? ) Wayne Manor Manbat with Batglider (fabric one) Batsub Batcar Robin cycle Robin Redbird (car) Mothmobile! Anything else? Batbrick Away! Quote
Oky Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 (edited) Mad Hatter glider (C'mon, has anyone else got any better ideas? ) How about a Hatmobile? A giant hat on wheels. Anything else? Yes! A Fire Fly flyer/glider! Edited September 23, 2008 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
Big T Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I could almost picture a Joker-esque vehicle for the Mad Hatter, something like a killer book bus (Wasn't Alice in Wonderland inspiration or something for the Mad Hatter, might be a cool lil' reference, not to mention get us more lego books) I'll be honest I'm still fairly new to a lot of the Batman stuff, so I didn't think of Hugo Strange at all. Although The Bruce Limo could be a good way to get a cheap Bane figure, since he deducts Batman's identity (doesn't he? I think he does...yeah of course he does...that's how he 'breaks the bat') so perhaps give Bane a beefed up bike or something to go with that and it could be a good small set if Lego wanted to stick with some of the more recognisable characters. yovnocrats Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I don't want the ventriloquist, mainly because everytime i looked at him i would get sad, because of the fact that his head juices are all drained down his kitchen floor boards....>_> Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I personally feel that a fan-pleasing, interlocking story behind all the sets, not just a poor unexplained caption, is whats needed. Bit like a reboot, maybe new minifig designs, mabye not, but anyway heres part one: 1.GOTHAM BANK BREAKIN! All of the Batman’s rouges have formed a team and there first port of call is… robbing a bank! Original! Bane and Two-Face have taken two thousand dollars and are making there escape Two-Face’s truck. The bank is laid out as such; two stories, the first of which consist of two front doors, desk and a stair case. The staircase leads to a second floor which consists of a desk and a (a large brick-built) vault which can be ripped from either outside or inside (though it would be trouble getting it down the stairs) the bank. Batman and Robin both have vehicles, Batmobile and the Redbird, as well as a police car (though I won’t concentrate on them a bit boring). Includes Batman, Robin, Two-Face, Bane, two Two-Face grunts, a policeman, a bank worker and a (female) civilian! Look out for part 2 '___ and/or____, ____, ______ at the ______ ___ _______ _____', coming when ever the hell I feel like it! I don't want the ventriloquist, mainly because everytime i looked at him i would get sad, because of the fact that his head juices are all drained down his kitchen floor boards....>_> Hang your head in shame good sir, he was assassinated. Even in death, he has no dignity... Quote
yovnocrats Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 *SPOILERS* yeah, he, magpie, orca and kgbeast were all taken out by tally man pretending to be two-face, right? Quote
johnsocal Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 I assume LEGO will eventually make some Batman sets utilizing the new suits as seen in the Batman game, but until that day I decided to make a few. Quote
Brainbox Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 I reckon they'd think of something, plus Bruce Wayne is known to be attacked by the freaks occasionally. Especially in the 60s series. There wasn't a week went by that someone didn't try to rob Wayne Manor. Joker even found the entrance to the Batcave! Babs. Exactly. Good point, but I wonder if they would just have Wesker hold the gun? I wouln't mind that, I'd prefer the mini gun but if that is how it is I'm fine, so long as we get Scarface The minigun wouldn't really have to be that small. I gues they could even just make the gun permanently attached to Scarface. That way, we wouldn't run the risk of losing such a teeny-tiny piece. Anything else? Two-Face kind of deserves a car, like he had back in the 50s. Only less green and purple, and more black and white. But something like next year's Shanghai Chase car, half black and half white. Now that would look sweet. How about a Bat-rocket? Add a Bat-spacesuit, and you've got something a bit different. Maybe it could be an upward race against a Joker-missile, filled with Joker gas, with a smiley face on the nose. I could almost picture a Joker-esque vehicle for the Mad Hatter, something like a killer book bus (Wasn't Alice in Wonderland inspiration or something for the Mad Hatter, might be a cool lil' reference, not to mention get us more lego books) It was, yeah. Maybe it could have a loudspeaker on top, broadcasting loudspeaker messages. yeah, he, magpie, orca and kgbeast were all taken out by tally man pretending to be two-face, right? Not so much 'pretending' but Two-Face was suspected initially. No, that's not quite true, Harvey Dent was suspected initially. He'd been protecting Gotham during Batman's year away. It was revealed that the second Tally Man framed Two-Face under Great White Shark's orders. This led to the reawakening (again) of the Two-Face personality. I assume LEGO will eventually make some Batman sets utilizing the new suits as seen in the Batman game, but until that day I decided to make a few. Woah, nice. I'm only a little miffed that you beat me to it. Quote
WhiteFang Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Guys, I will like to ask if Batman theme is going to continue in 2009? It seemed they had released 13 sets so far over a span of 2 years. Well, the reason I am asking is, because I had just bought the Tumbler and Harley Quinn sets last weekend. I am extremely pleased with it, as I am going to start building it over the next few weeks. The thing is, I actually wished Batman will continue. I never got into Batman theme, and actually owned a total of 3 sets. It will be very sad to know that Batman is not able to continue to 2009. It's a very good theme, to let it go to waste, despite of its strong fan base. Perhaps, if I had extra funding somehow, I will likely collect the rest of the sets if possible. Just to let you guys know that, I do wish Batman theme will continue, even though I don't check it regularly. Quote
Batbrick Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Exactly. I really hope we get both Batgirl AND Oracle. They are both really essential and I'd love to read your expression if they released her. The minigun wouldn't really have to be that small. I gues they could even just make the gun permanently attached to Scarface. That way, we wouldn't run the risk of losing such a teeny-tiny piece. No, I mean, would the gun be too small and fragile to be attached to Scarface? Just throwing it out there, I can't wait to see the game version to know. Two-Face kind of deserves a car, like he had back in the 50s. Only less green and purple, and more black and white. But something like next year's Shanghai Chase car, half black and half white. Now that would look sweet. I disagree, I'd prefer Two-Face to be a side villain with another in a set that gives that villain the vehicle. He already has a car. Also, Mr.Freeze needs his armoured truck. How about a Bat-rocket? Add a Bat-spacesuit, and you've got something a bit different. Maybe it could be an upward race against a Joker-missile, filled with Joker gas, with a smiley face on the nose. TLC would be crazy enough to try it! Though the Joker missile sounds perfect, unless we get a Tropical styled Joker I'd prefer another villain, like Wonderland rocket or something that equals Tetch's insanity. Though I prefer the Hatmobile Woah, nice. I'm only a little miffed that you beat me to it. Me too, seriously man that is fantastic, especially the bat bombs and fire suit. Mind if I copy? I love you Seriously, thanks for leaving a comment, I'm glad another would love to see the theme continue, as I agree it has much left to offer. In fact, I'd go as far to say that the series has only done about 1% or less of its full capacity. I reckon you'd love the other sets, specifically Arkham knowing your tastes in Castle, it has some great aspects to it. As far as I know the theme's future has yet to be declared, so it's all up to rumours right now. However, given the movie released this year, a Lego videogame as well and the four sets which seem to be selling quite well, I'd say it has a good chance Batbrick Away! Quote

However, given the movie released this year, a Lego videogame as well and the four sets which seem to be selling quite well, I'd say it has a good chance I had promised myself to get myself involved with Batman theme whenever possible, before it ever discontinued. I don't want to look back in time, and blame myself for holding a set which I pondered for a long time due to budget constrain, ending up miss one of the greatest theme ever. (That's what happened to me with Spiderman theme) I will not buy multiple sets though, but at least one set is sufficient enough. Most of my crazy multiple purchases revolved in my Castle theme. I think you are referring to Arkam Asylum. With that wide range of figures, I wished I had more money to spare, and gotten it earlier... Yes, you are right. I do love that set very much. In fact, I am thinking of finding the two-face set and the asylum set. I certainly wished that TLG will continue Batman theme for at least one more year, and give us the best ever... The Harley Quinn and the Tumbler are . By the way, classic Batman villians are still my fave, unlike some uncommon ones. Quote
