If they are using these to form the chassis of the waste handler (you would need much else) and the crawler crane it would help explain their seemingly low piece counts. I am looking forward to getting these new "chassis rails"! Quote

For KERS it could be a distribution-direction gearbox with a pullback motor. You may "charge" it, or switch to "boost-ready" and then unlock the pullback motor(s) (hey 42138/42139!) to give a speed. Or,even better, it could be taken as a hybryd engine... Quote
Lipko Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 All these new parts make chassis building much simpler (less bulky connections make more space for mechanisms), and I like it, since I still have very little time to build. Quote

agrof Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 (edited) Overall I like it, still I am also in the opinion, that some more feature would be good... even if it would have been just a small gimmick, just like my fake "hydraulic gearbox" in my UTV. Could they use something similar for fake hybrid engine... yes, we can add such thing easily, but... Not to mention removable HOG steering. Edited February 9, 2022 by agrof Quote

R0Sch Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 I've made an Ldraw file for the 3x19 frame if you want to use it for your builds. For use in Studio the 3 files have to be put separately in the connectivity, collision and parts folder under C:\Users\Your_user_name\AppData\Local\Stud.io\CustomParts.https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=584078 Quote
Ngoc Nguyen Posted February 9, 2022 Author Posted February 9, 2022 Fun fact: This set has exactly 1 more piece than the Silver Champion. The former has 1432 pieces, while the latter has 1431. Quote
herrodanyo Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 I hope they plan on making more of the F1 cars. A Red Bull and a Mercedes F1 car would be awesome if they wanted to make this a series. Quote

I meant in comparison to other sets and part counts, its not the disaster its being made out to be. Double the part count and done really well would be a potentially awesome set.. Potentially. However.... for me the whole concept of a lego display model seems odd. Likewise building sets and sticking them on a shelf. I'm 98% about mocs, have been since i was 8, so the 'display' culture makes zero sense to me to start with. I'd buy these tarty supercar sets if they offered them with no bodywork and £150 cheaper. So its not my bag, but i can see why its priced where it is. Might rebuild my BWE if nothing interesting turns up... that was a PROPER technic set! Quote
williamyzfr1 Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Having contemplated I am now going to wait for Lego to release the instructions. If there is a way to replace the oversize wheel covers so that they don't encroach on the tyre, with an existing part, then maybe I will buy this model Quote

Gray Gear Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Of all the things one could complain about on this set the tires are the biggest issue imo. This looks like a mediocre MOC solution at best. I am happy this is none of my problems and I can just have a good laugh TLG is too lazy to make tires the same way they did back then for the Silver Champion years ago. Not only do they cheap out on the tire prints, no, they use completely wrong wheels and slap a round tile with a sticker on top in an attempt to make the sidewall look slimmer. Build for Real my a$$ What a joke Quote
Pato Sentado Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 This row is offering us a nice technical set (the off-road vehicle) and the best racers/F1 set to date. Quote

phmzt Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Compared to this, the Silver Champion looks like the Terminator after it came out of the fire. Cool, yes, but it misses something…😅 Quote
kodlovag Posted February 9, 2022 Posted February 9, 2022 Hmm... I expected something more. I'm not really happy with the Tumbler's tires, they only work with that big covering disc. I expected the Defender's tires. Still seams to be a good part pack, especially with all the new frames and panels. But I will wait for a big discount. Quote
blondasek Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 If it is the same orange as on 42056, I am getting two for sure. On heavy discount, but still. Tires (which I want) and panels are enough for me. The model is meh, but I need to see it live because maybe there is a potential in it for modding :) Quote
ace_klimax Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) What i like: * panels (fan of orange pieces) * tires (finaly 4 tumbler tires in 1 model) What is missing 1) HOG (removable like in defender) 2) link joint to DRS 3) removable front wing 4) more detailed engine (but not with much system pieces!) 1-3 can be easily achieved and will be first mods, after set will be released On the other hand I understand not implementing 10-gear selector gearbox (1-8+N+R), because it's not mostly visible and speed changes in engine. I didn't want make some crypled version (2/4 gear) shifting in my MOCs from design point of view, it looks OK, some holes between panels might have been covered better 1-3 is easily doable https://bricksafe.com/files/klimax/42110-formula-1/03.jpg I might buy it second-hand or severely discounted at the end of production (for panels or tires), but i prefer mostly real technic models (gears and functions) Edited February 10, 2022 by ace_klimax Quote
Jundis Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Are the fender panels the same size as the 3x5x3? Quote
