sp1984 Posted January 30, 2022 Posted January 30, 2022 Will that set be offered exclusively at LEGO shop? If yes it seems expensive at full price without a good discount. Scale concern: Looking at size of the real JD 9620 is attached yellow trailer not too small and lightweighted comparing to the tractor? Quote
R0Sch Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Hey, at least it has some basic functions for a 30$ Technic set unlike the 50$ pullbacks. But yeah, big let down for the premiere of this IP. Let's hope the next John Deere will be substantially bigger. So buy this set if you want a continuation, even if it doesn't satisfy your AFOL needs. Just saying. Quote
Dami Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) Still more functionality than $50 Pullbacks. This set is pretty good. I dont expected much more functions. I probably wont build trailer, but idk yet. Also price point is very good. A lot of parts in new colors, some basic functionality, license for only $30. I think 42120 is better deal because of higher piece count but this set is also good deal. Edited January 31, 2022 by Dami Quote

My JCB tractor is a bit fragile, but with ability to make specific parts for sets, the Lego could make something on similar chassis and make more robust top, not necessarily with openable hood. The Lego trailer seems really cool and simple in comparison to my trailer being over complicated and heavy. Quote

The Xerion is an amazing set, and that was the first from the CLAAS brand. The D11T is big and complex, and there hasn't been a CAT set before. Why couldn't the John Deere set - especially a tractor this big - be the same size as the Xerion, with the same level of complexity? This set is very weirdly scaled - if TLG wanted this level of functionality, why not just make it like the Mini Xerion? That tractor has functions relative to its size, unlike this one. This one is stuck in a kind of inbetweeny limbo in terms of scale, and the least TLG could have done is put in an engine! Quote

The mini Xerion has more complex steering AND a PTO driven by the rear axle. So more functionality than this :D Quote
Thirdwigg Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I'm liking the set. Like orange, I tend to buy any set that comes in Green, so.... But, I'll have to see what improvements can be made. Nice to see some new parts in Green. Also, this set is going to sell well in the USA. You can put "John Deere" on a sausage here and it will triple sales. I can't believe it took TLG so long. Quote
R0Sch Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 High resolution images are available on lego.com.42136_Tractor+Trailer.io I managed to finish the tractor and trailer. The trailer should be 100% accurate. It's a pity it doesn't have a tailgate and linear actuator like this: Quote
whitepen Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 (edited) Funny that on Lego.com it says: Quote Packed with authentic functions – Inspired by a real tractor, this LEGO® Technic™ toy version features steering, a driver’s cab with a turning seat, and a tipping trailer That doesn't seem very packed! @R0Sch Thanks for the studio file! Will build it this afternoon and share pictures! Edited January 31, 2022 by whitepen Because I wanted to! Quote

Kostq Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 So this is a smaller scale 42071 with a trailer. Woo. Quote

Ngoc Nguyen Posted February 1, 2022 Author Posted February 1, 2022 Notice that Sariel didn't include 42136 in his post about upcoming reviews, even though this set is supposed to be released soon. Last time this happened a certain set was recalled before it even had a chance to hit the shelf. Quote

Dami Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I think 42136 is too small set to be sended by Lego to review. Quote
Jundis Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Ok I was wrong, they did the front overhang pretty well. The rear seems too short, but could be so because of the perspective. Quote
Dami Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 seems to be pretty good scaled. Definetly gonna buy it, Quote
allanp Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Nice to see 5x7 frame is coming in more colours, and standard green this time which is good. Quote
Frequenzberater Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) Do we know yet what the ominous seat turning function is? Edited February 1, 2022 by Frequenzberater Quote

At least Xerion looked (IMHO) realistic, but look at this Deere roof At least they could use curved slopes at the side to achieve some kind of realistic look. Quote

Green and blue are two colors that lack part variety in the Technic system. If I can see well, there are even 2 green 5x7 frames - one for the roof and the second one between the front wheels! Quote
Dami Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) thats true. Theres 2 green frames Edited February 1, 2022 by Dami Quote
